"what a douchebag he is...trying to steal John's thunder. It's interesting that he's waited this long to speak up about it and never did anything really very political since, with the possible exception of Live Aid."
- Bryan Irrera
"Good for her. It's time that this pervasive LIE stop. I NEVER believed in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Stork, the Tooth Fairy (I KNEW my parents/grandparents were giving me the money) or any of the other stupid lie mythological characters that parents want to foist on their kids..."

"He probably deserved it...I'll bet he was in the middle of massacring "American Pie" or "Paradise By the Dashboard Lights" or it was the third time that night that someone did "My Way" and they just couldn't take it anymore!"
- Bryan Irrera
"Boo Fucking Hoo. These churches have broken the rules of how they are supposed to be conducting themselves re: the political process & their tax exemption. Plain and simple. Let's not forget, as well, that there is SUPPOSED to be a separation of church and state. If we start to conduct our government based on any one religion's beliefs, then we can start legislating against the beliefs of the other churches/synagogues/mosques/etc... We are NOT a theocracy. There is a very different thing between a civil marriage and a religious marriage. If people are fearful for the strength/sanctity of their marriage and anyone else's marriage somehow affects that then they should rightly be afraid. Why isn't a 55 hour marriage in Las Vegas (Britney Spears) more offensive than a marriage of two people who have made a well-thought out, well planned for decision or who have already proven their longevity as a couple (Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon who were together for 58 years when they were finally..."

"It's bad when even someone SO far RIGHT as Bill O'Reilly is forced into the position of DEFENDING Barack Obama! Mind you, I'm totally a supporter of Obama and not one of O'Reilly, so this is fascinating to me...boy, are her fifteen minutes OVER!"
- Bryan Irrera
"While the story about Sarah Palin wanting to ban books is correct, this list is NOT. http://www.snopes.com/politic... ... I don't like her, but it's not fair game for us to spread lies about her. We don't want the Republicans doing that to Obama, we can't sink to their level."
- Bryan Irrera
"That's extremely excessive, but very cool nonetheless. They must REALLY love their mini-golf. But, where's the windmill or clown's mouth?"
- Bryan Irrera
On The Waterfront. I've read about it a thousand times but it just looks so boring that I can't hit the play button. I had the same feeling about Citizen Kane and that turned out to be a very incorrect intuition. But I'm still being influenced by the historically ridiculous inner voice.

"The Pervert's Guide to Cinema" by Slavoj Zizek
- Hayk H.
I've always wanted to see Pulp Fiction but I don't have any time to go to my local movie store and pick it up.
- Richie Keith
Apocalypto - Going to add it to my Netflix queue now :)
- Mattb4rd
Probably Krzysztof Kieslowski's trilogy. 'Blue', 'White', and 'Red'
- Rodfather
Richie...GO get Pulp Fiction...I love it...cool flick
- Susan Beebe
Susan, I'll try and do my best on getting it :)
- Richie Keith
Gah, this list would be a hundred titles long. I'm deficient on movies released before 1970 for some reason and many of those movies I want to see only because they're movies I'm supposed to have seen like Gone With the Wind. So, I dunno. Battleship Potemkin?
- Akiva Moskovitz
Don't have any actually. Put this on my New Year's Resolution list two years ago and finally watched 'Giant' @Andrew: On The Waterfront is fantastic.
- AJ Kohn
2001: A Space Oddyssy - I even downloaded it like a year ago and it's sitting on my hard drive unwatched. I think I even have the sequel although I don't know if it's any good
- Nick Austad
from twhirl
rodfather:"Red" is one of my favorite movies of all time.
- edythe
Nick, the sequel's a completely different kind of movie but fun in it's own right. John, Citizen Kane's still a good movie but it's best enjoyed in critically and in its cinematic context. Jon, one of my favorite movies but I have to be in a specific mood to watch it. Make sure you get the theatrical version and not the longer Redux cut which I think just makes longer without adding enough to make it worth it except for people who are already Apocalypse Now fans.

practically every decent movie that's come out since my second kid was born
- Nathan Rein
man, you know - i'm not reading stuff properly today. I read another friendfeed message wrong & i did the same here. I read that as "what ANIMAL you've always wanted to see, but haven't - for whatever reason?" . I'm guessing none of you have heard of a movie called 'a blue whale' huh?
- Zee.
Mummy 3 - reason: I heard it is the suxors.
- Todd Jordan
Spiderman 3.. I just wasn't able to find time and company during that time to watch the movie.
- Winston Teo
Todd, Titanic, and The Village spring to mind immediately as painful parts of my life that I'll never recover. Jack, have you seen "The Devil's Backbone?" "Pan's" is goo, but I liked "Backbone" a lot better. Also definitely worth checking out if you like those movies is "The Orphanage."
- Joe Pierce
Boiler Room. Just haven't gotten around to it.
- Chris Brogan
Joe, from Netflix I've had the Orphanage sitting on my shelf for weeks now but I just haven't been in the right 'mood' for it. Netflix should have an option for you to put how many times a movie was viewed once it was rented. It'd give an interesting metric for not only usage but for user enjoyment as well.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Uhm...this may sound funny, but the Dark Knight?
- Gordon Swaby
"I don't think that McDonald's is going to win this case. No matter how hard they lobby, they just can't control how this word is actually used. Oxford can simply site the book "Generation X" and I think the movie "Reality Bites" (possibly where I heard the phrase for the first time myself)."
- Bryan Irrera
"Sam Goody/Suncoast were not going under until TWEC bought them. Those stores likely were liquidated. Most Sam Goody/Suncoasts that have survived are being folded into/under the FYE umbrella currently..."
- Bryan Irrera
"Actually, I think that these kids putting all the dumb things they've done on their myspace page is a fairly good idea. It will ensure that people much more deserving of high paying, high pressure jobs will get them while they work at McD's.... ...it's called "culling the herd""
