I think these are interesting, I wish I had more horsepower and that FF's api told you in any given user record if that person's feed was private. I think it's very interesting to see how many circles exist on FF. Right now, I don't store any info, besides cache info, on people.

Please don't get me wrong people, but I just can't understand the "need" for such information/graphs/charts... I wonder about the need that ignited the creation
- directeur
directeur: It's a good way to find new people to follow. We probably know most of the people, but there are some surprises.
- Mitchell Tsai
I don't know about need. I think sometimes we just like to play with the shiny.
- Morton Fox
+1 Morton, +1 directeur But I'm like Joe... not on anyone's. It's humbling.
- Cyndy
I started the Meme, Felix one-upped me and neither me nor him are on anyone's chart :P
- Yuvi
Finally, some charts that don't have my name plastered all over them. Whew.
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Yeah, Yuvi, right?? What's up with that?? :)
- felix
Ben has the super geek profile! hehehee!
- Susan Beebe
I just got it, and I DEFINITELY hate this kind of "classification" (say it like it is) Believe me folks, maybe it's a game for you (and maybe not) but it's not woth a nickel as information. Let me explain: These charts are based on data gathered from a service that doesn't actually generated the data, but that uses data generated elsewhere... your correlation parameters aren't the right ones
- directeur
These charts are a playground while we wait for the next feature.
- Russellreno
:) Actually i don't mind that much, but IMHO there's more in taking each person as an individual with every little thing he/she can bring... Popularity is nothing, really. Not that these guys aren't worth mentionning, but if mentionning is because of digits and stats, then I'd better read mister smith's blog post on Python :) --I wonder if you see what I mean
- directeur
directeur :) - these charts are definitely nothing to take too seriously. I think, though, that it is interesting to see how closely knit the FF community is. I hope to make some changes that will give a broader view of the community as opposed to the limited circle it is now. But for now, it's just pretty charts and suppositions. :)
- felix
It's all ok felix :) I suppose that you made the thing in python, right? I appreciate any coding initiative... I'm, just like I said before, wondering about the "need", But hey! Everyone's free... :)
- directeur
Seems like there are lots of local FF communities. The FriendFeed founders (e.g. Paul Buchheit http://friendfeed.com/e... Sanjeev Singh http://friendfeed.com/e...) seem to be in their own universe, as do the Germans, and the Persians. I wonder if we picked a "random" person, what the center would be... Unlike Twitter, A-List (& B-List) bloggers may not be the heaviest users...yet! ;-)
- Mitchell Tsai
@directeur - it started in python when it was going to be an app engine app, but when I deployed it mostly functional it turns out it didn't play well with production app engine, so I redid the whole thing in Perl on one of my servers. :)
- felix
Mitchell, ok, let's try directeur :) He's not american, not persian, not french, not european, English is but his 4th language, he doens't follow arrington, mashable, scoble... Show me what it gives
- directeur
@mitchell - yeah, looks like there's language based circles, but broadly speaking in english eat seems like one center is scoble/arrington/gray I haven't seen any trend showing another broadly addopted significant circle. Of course, it's probably also true that the audience right now is a self-selected portion of FF. :)
- felix
@felix: why didn't it work on appengine, what errors/limitations have you had?
- directeur
Look at Paul Buchheit's circle http://friendfeed.com/e... - Robert Scoble comes in at #16 and appears on no other FriendFeeder circles. Benjamin Golub seems to be half-way between the Robert Scoble center and the FriendFeeder center. Some of the other FriendFeeders are in the main list of 37 charts http://friendfeed.com/e....
