Don't banks send enough email, snail mail, phone calls, offers, etc. already? Not quite sure why I would want to follow my bank...

It's not so much that you want their press releases, but if they can listen a la @comcastcares then their customer service can be massively re-energized. ** I am now restraining myself from linking that one blog post I wrote about this very topic.

yuk? why would i want wachovia updates?
- orionstarr
Just like any user on Twitter, you decide whether you want to follow someone. I'm following Home Depot because I'm curious about what they say. I'm following Del.icio.us, Movable Type and Defrag. Depends on what info you want.

The only place twitter spam gets me down is twitter search. I'd like to be able to search for a brand name and find reactions rather than rebroadcast press releases from news outlets.

i wonder if they'll tweet when they go in to FDIC receivership?

Following Wachovia isn't as bad as Wachovia following us. I wouldn't be surprised if companies are already using Twitter for data mining.

Thanks Hutch, it became a lot of fun to write that once I saw @comcastcares and @blurb tweeting in real time.

@Kenya Sure they are, but what's the harm? I'd rather the data mine be public (tweets) than private and commercial (your credit rating).

This is movin' a little quick. Hope Twitter's ready. Wonder if Wachovia's CEO saw it on CNN ?? :)
