more evidence of trend towards tranparency...though the q remains, "Can the campaign use the tools to mobilize support for Obama to address complex gov't issues?" Open question for sure, but my bet is that we're going to see O's team take a hard swing at trying. - Billy Bicket

nice interface, though my question for ben and the change folks is, "To what end will this info-source serve?" Is this a way to introduce quick and dirty ideas and people? Are you going to provide ways for idea-submitters to 'flesh-out' their ideas? How are you supporting those ideas that aren't 'chosen' ideas? etc. When everybody asks everybody for advice, what do we 'do' with all this stuff? - Billy Bicket

From the fall of 2007 to this October, the share of 16- to 19-year-olds working fell by 8 percent, the largest decline of any age group, and the outlook for youths and low-skilled workers in coming months is bleak, economists say, with the industries most apt to employ them, like home-building and retail sales, taking steep dives. (What about a "Farmy Assistance Program" that pumps $ into the economy of people and groups interested in creating the next generation of Food Cooperatives for America?) - Billy Bicket

“I posted a message there introducing myself and asking readers to ‘Tell me what hurts,’ and I got a flurry of complaints in response,” Westerman said. “I answered each one and started to address them, and after a few months, the feedback on Duke City Fix started to turn positive. It became a new method for us to address customer issues.” - Billy Bicket

Whatever the case, the best thing you can do to protect yourself and your interests is to make friends. The more we are willing to do for each other on our own terms and for compensation that doesn’t necessarily involve the until-recently-almighty dollar, the less vulnerable we are to the movements of markets that, quite frankly, have nothing to do with us. "Think small. Buy local. Make friends. Print money. Grow food. Teach children. Learn nutrition. And if you do have money to invest, put it into whatever lets you and your friends do those things." - Billy Bicket

Motivating the committed outperforms persuading the uncommitted. The unheralded success factor of Obama's campaign is the get out the vote effort. Every marketer can learn from this. It's easier (far easier) to motivate the slightly motivated than it is to argue with those that either ignore you or are predisposed to not like you. - Billy Bicket

On approaching his latest book, "That was no easy task. It required building a complete holistic framework for personal growth from the ground up. The idea is that once you mentally step inside this framework (meaning that you adopt a certain mindset), everything would finally click, and you’d be able to make meaningful progress in all areas of your life without having to repeatedly switch contexts. In other words, you could use the same set of rules to improve your health, build a fulfilling career, achieve financial abundance, cultivate loving relationships, boost your productivity, and increase your spiritual connectedness." Golden rules. Focus on providing value to the people we're serving. Listening. Transparency. Integrity. Commitment. - Billy Bicket
