Corre o boato que houve mergulhos na ria... Care to explain? Anyone? :D

- Benjamin Junior

@Subhasish Vodafone's press statement a couple of months back was generic w.r.t. SE Asia which was assumed to include India. Bharati made an official press release with Tim Cook that they will be launching in India in partnership. What puzzles me is the speeds that they will be able to support on their networks. popular high speed 3G technologies are CDMA based, UMTS & HSDPA: http://www.apple.com/pr... Though this was in the print edition of yesterdays BS, I can't find it online.
- Parth Awasthi
Parth My concern too. Neither Bharti nor Vodafone have true 3G networks. Not much idea about the CDMA services. UMTS uses the W-CDMA air interface but it was designed to be implemented over a GSM infrastructure. Hopefully these guys would be in a position to implement it.
- Subhasish Das
from twhirl
Considering that I am a very frequent user even with crappy GPRS speeds on my crummy (for browsing) SE; I will appreciate anything that is even trivially better.

iphone rev 2.0 will have the ability to levitate on command
- sean percival
@christian - i like throwing twitter in there. all this killer stuff then twitter. you know I love it, but i doubt that would be a main focal point - plus, would jobs okay it with all the downtime woes? imagine him seeing that whale on the big screen :)
- MG Siegler
There will be an app to allow us to view ten seconds into the future!
- Joe Dawson
@sean - is that really a prediction, that's a given
- MG Siegler
It'll have a twitter app, but you're right, there is no way in hell Jobs demos it on stage. It sure would be funny to see how he'd handle a thirty foot whale on the screen :)
- Christian Anderson
from fftogo
I think .Mac will be updated. Hopefully it'll be in my price range (ie it'll be free). @christian @MG Didn't Flickr fail while Jobs was debuting the new Apple TV? He just glossed over it, what a pro!
- Mike
dotmac update, iphone 2, 10.6 demoed, maybe new laptops
- matthew
two versions of 3g iPhone one with GPS, one without it.
- ahmet bulent
I predict a major "holy crap" factor that ends up not being related to the iPhone. I think Stevie throws a bigtime curveball and blows everyone away with a new device that 'almost' (not quite) completely overshadows iPhone 2. I also predict .Mac becomes Me.com, and Apple also announcing some sort of new software application that's coming soon. (not AppStore)
- John Reese
Like John I think there will be some other major announcement. I think the iPhone will NOT be released today (just not enough evidence saying they've arrived in stores) but will be announced.
- Brandon Titus
Steve Jobs will announce that FriendFeed is acquiring Apple.
- Amit Patel
iChat AV allowing for iPhone-to-iPhone or iPhone-to-Mac conferencing seems appleish enough
- Nicholas Molnar
Apple announces the addition of the iCafé to every retail location. The menu will include such items as the iLatté, the iTurkey wrap, and of course the Apple apple iPie. iPhone 3G owners will be able to order directly from their device even from outside the iCafé. The built-in GPS will ensure that the order is not prepared until the patron is within a certain distance of the store. A location based delivery option will be rolled out later this year.
- Kevin D. White
could be pretty cool - my sister (visiting from paraguay) says they have phones with that feature there and it's the hot new thing (but few can afford it)
- Sarah Perez
You can imagine Apple doing a spectacular job of this. Imagine live-streaming the view from the rear camera, with a smaller picture of you from the front camera, angled like when you share a presentation over iChat...
- Garth Roxburgh-Kidd
Video Chatting would be revolutionary - They will overcome the usual problem with videophones - which is that nobody you want to call has one. Furthermore, they already have great software infrastructure for leveraging it. iChat will archive video chats, and you can use them directly in GarageBand to create video podcasts.
- Robin Barooah
@robin - archiving video chats would be an interesting idea.
- MG Siegler
i was initially skeptical, but i changed my mind once i saw how much more i used video chat once i got a macbook with a built-in camera, mic, and good UI.
- Charles Hudson
Novelty. Video chat and MMS in general is mostly useless.
- Tadhg Kelly
Come on, it will be revolutionary! Does images of Dick Tracy's wrist watch video phone come to mind? Sure it's been available within the mobile space but not on the iPhone. With Apple's incredibly successful marketing efforts this could be huge for live mobile video. Especially if iChat expands to Windows and we get a patch to connect to Skype. We want a broadcast app too, Qik needs to run on the iPhone.
- Larry Kless
It will be a revolutionary novelty. OK? :)
- Tadhg Kelly
no, but use the one for this room if you want :)
- MG Siegler
there is something wrong with video chatting, steve jobs couldn't help himself to fix it.
- ahmet bulent
Any luck that cameras will be 'optional' for the two-thirds of the enterprise that aren't allowed to have camera phones?
- Larry
Videoconferencing has been considered "The killer app" by many for years. When I was in Hong Kong in 2005 I walked up behind a girl that was walking and holding her phone out in front of her... I thought it was odd and so I got closer and realized she was videoconferencing with some guy. From what I could tell the framerate was like 1fps or less. Nonetheless it was pretty cool to see. I think it definitely has potential to be revolutionary.
- John Reese
revolutionary.. live experience sharing from any location.
- Travis Parsons
Video calls are nothing new. Sony Ericsson and Nokia have had video calls and front facing cameras for years. Apple will probably just integrate it better with the UI and fanboys will of course love it.
- Johan Paul
For thousands of years, AT&T has been promising that “video phones” are the future, and that they'll be brought to you by AT&T. But what people actually wanted was texting. Texting is nowhere near as “cool” but it's simple, works, and quite useful. Tech people often think cool stuff will be successful but often the mundane stuff is successful. (I apply the same to Second Life vs. IM)
- Amit Patel
Not revolutionary at all. VC has been available on 3G phones for years (the US is certainly not a good benchmark for 3G deployment) and just never gets any use. In fact, many manufacturers that were all for it have started dropping front-facing cameras from their phones. I wouldn't put it past Apple to put a great interface around it, but I still doubt that it would get much use (something terrible about having to hold a phone out in front of you while walking).
- Paul Gennai
Something like Qik on a relaunched mac.com (or me.com)... now that would be cool
- Paul Gennai
If only everyone on Twitter didn't think this meant every Apple store. U.S. Apple store is still up. This pretty much solidifies the 3G iPhone announcement.
- Brandon Titus
Seriously.... I wish Apple would just live video stream these things...
- James Cook
I have been online for the last eight hours and it's really starting to pick up now!
- Joe Dawson
I feel bad for all the people wanting to buy an ipod connector or power supply etc. and can't because an online store has to be taken “down” for updates. I remember laughing at Walmart when they did this. We should be laughing at Apple too.
- Amit Patel
