It would allow choice. & that is the separating feature. When choice is removed, it has gone too far.

There was a yellow & blue Fuji, not too different than mine that was cool looking. Actually, I almost bought it... It was nicer.
My bike does have a gold decal that has some small stripes, two of which are yellow. Of course, black is always mean looking.
I was thinking yellow tape because I saw a bike in the Tour de France set up such & it looked sweet.
How I spend my evenings: searching the house for blown inner tubes...
Thinking of trying out latex. Maybe, I will sacrifice a present tube. Wonder if a bike shop would spare a busted one?
Have to see if it is too sweaty or not. Cut one in half & it doesn't fully cover both bars. Cloth tape still on exposed areas.
Someone suggested using an old inner tube. Having one, why not? It works.
Well, that worked pretty good. I have remnants of the sky blue/grey cloth tape on my handlebars.
