Just discovered legacy.odeo.com. Incredibly classy. I'd just assumed that in tried-and-true web fashion, all that data was just gone.
@jobsworth we should chat more about deployment issues: http://www.slideshare.net/rabble... (from 2006)
@miju nope - got back from a week in New York today, two weeks ago I was in SF for a week. Next week is SF again, so this week I sleep @3AM.
@vesper7 3 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 4 days, 22 hours, 53 minutes, 38 seconds ;-)
Some day I will escape from jet lag.
@weblivz use case is good - lots of sites don't want liability of handling passwords, but "WTF is my OpenID URL??" is a show-stopper.
@t fwiw, I don't advocate username@twitter.com - I advocate username@emailprovider.com, and webfinger points to twitter.com.
@t except that web addresses don't work. OpenID completely, 100% failed to get traction with URLs-as-identifiers.
@t URLs are inconsistent, as are userids across services. I can't remember if *I* am "blaine" or "romeda", let alone *your* id for service x
@t OpenID ux is shit because it depends on URLs. Webfinger.org login flow is smooth-like butter.
@t but I can always remember my friends' email addresses, and we have great tools to store people->email id in case we can't.
@t also, the desired behavior (decentralized identity) does not work in browsers today. Instead, social sites are unwilling monocultures.
On board, EWR-BFS. Goodbye New York! You were great! Except for this cold you gave me. It sucks. But I forgive you. :-)
RT @kevinmarks good to see @timoreilly backing Social Graph API and PubSubHubbub at Web 2.0 Expo
Ironic that the board behind Tim at Web 2.0 Expo can only be offered by Twitter. Which monopolies aren't noticed yet?
Ironic that that the Twitter updates board behind Tim can only be offered by Twitter. #w2e
Missed out on a whole host of FourSquare achievements last night, but got them in real life with a whole host of the best folks. NEED COFFEE
After, definitely.
I've always hated wool, but I'm beginning to acquire a taste. It's a bit like a good whisky; abrasive and unrelenting, but warm and caring.
OH: "You're going to be 65 years old before you know it if you sit like that."
A long-awaited encounter (with key lime pie).
@leahculver take a look at webfinger.org :-)
@deer ha! Awesome!
Waiting in Heathrow for my flight back home after a very productive & great week. Playing Star Control 2: the Ur-Quan Masters to avoid sleep
@yarnivore we're there 14th - 19th. Will you be around?
@leemunroe I have - boojum is v. good, but isn't *quite* the same thing ;-)
I am a lucky kid. My friends are amazing and wonderful and generally the best. Looking forward to seeing more of them in New York next week.
A lazy day means a burritoless departure, but that's more than OK. Happy as a clam.
Just sent a compressed a text message in celebration of @maureen's awesomeness. 1000!!!
