"Unfortunately, what happens now is not a SQL problem, and as I said, the server (even before being upgraded) has faced even bigger spikes. It seems that at the moment, I cannot do much about it than submit a ticket to my host. Again, thanks everyone for your patience!" - Alex Cristache

"If the link does not load the first time, please hit refresh a couple of time. Unfortunately it seems that the pressure Digg traffic puts on the server (even if higher traffic levels have happened in the past from SU or other sources) does screw up the host. Sorry for that and I hope you guys have the patience to load it again, or save it to delicious and revisit tomorrow when everything comes back to normal. Thanks! Alex / Blogsessive.com" - Alex Cristache

"Sorry for that, there's a bit of pressure on the server, although it faced even bigger traffic in the past, so it's something abnormal. Anyway, if you refresh the page once or twice it will load." - Alex Cristache

"Yesterday, Fi (Fantasy Interactive) sent out alpha invitations to their new product, Kontain. This is one product I’ve signed up and (not very) patiently waited for its launch, as it should be pretty revolutionary in terms of user-friendliness. Basically, it’s the first Flash-based blogging platform open to world wide free public access." - Alex Cristache
Who needs a Flash-based blogging platform? It's inaccessible. Each page weighs at least 400Kbytes. Maybe someone would use Flash-based blogging tools, but the reader also needs Flash to view even your text and image content. I don't get it. Isn't this why we have standards like JavaScript? - Benjamin Doherty
Benjamin, the Flash Player is installed on the majority of computers these days. That's not the real problem. Also, no matter how much we complain about it, the dial-up era is gone. 400Kb per page? We should analyze standard blogging platforms and see much their pages weight, with tons of widgets & slow loading gadgets using external APIs. This is a great product for those that find "drag and drop" type of actions easier. It would be a whole lot easier to explain Kontain to my father rather than WP. - Alex Cristache

"I've already said it in an article. SU is on a witch-hunt unfortunately and for the time being, they remain silent infront of all the requests of communication from users. Obviously, there are those SU users enjoying the situation, and as you can probably figure out, most of them are those photo-stumblers. It seems it's what's SU is turning into, a photo & art social bookmarking website. If we love marketing, PR, business and finance, we're treated as spammers. Well, I'm sorry for having a lower interest in a black and white photo than in how I can improve my life." - Alex Cristache

“Does anyone know of a basic todo list where you can type in a list of tasks like you would do in a text editor - but then each task is converted into individual items like on tadalist...and you can drag and drop up & down etc..”
November 13 at 3:13 pm - Link
so to clarify, i want to be able to copy & paste multiple lines of text...with each line of text being a todo - Zee.
Ummmm... There's one for the G1 now, but I don't think that'll help much =( - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
I use Google Calendar for basic lists with drag-n-drop capability. Not sure if it has notifications, since I keep it open all time. - Alex Cristache
Alex - how do you mass copy & paste tasks to create separate events in google calendar? - Zee.
Zee - Not sure if you can do that. When I posted my comment, there was no clarification message from you. :) Typing in it's definitely no problem, pasting is hard since one click opens a dialog box for a single event... - Alex Cristache
Are you looking for web app or desktop? If desktop Mac or PC? - Jon Dillon
Jon, ideally web...but if not, mac - Zee.
It would be cool if there were an app similar to Evernote that managed and synced task lists. If it followed GTD, that would be awesome as well. Would need to be cross platform as well. - Jason Huebel
I'm (sort of) in the midst of spec'ing up just such a web application. But to answer your question, no... - Wayne Smallman
For the Mac, Taskpaper is pretty good but you don't have your drag and drop, another one I like to use is omnifocus. It's not in the style of a text editor but its very easy to use, keeps tasks nicely organised and you can drag and drop to your hearts content - Jon Dillon
yeah, task paper is great..but no drag & drop like you said. I have Omnifocus but no way to add multiple tasks at once unfortunately. I have to type then press enter, type...press enter, type..etc.. - Zee.
Check out nowdothis.com. It's a very simple website but it sounds like it might tick all the boxes you're looking for. - jon
I'm looking for a todo list where you can type in a list of tasks . . . and voila . . . they are all done!! - Chris Loft
toodledoo seems to do everything but break a list to multiple todos. It has an api that links to appligo (or vice versa) ToDo and Notebook which do wireless synch. Also a nice Firefox link. - Wayne Schulz
Guys! I found an app that does it...out of all of them...it ended up being bloody Backpackit.com!! You can email a list of todos to Backpack...and it will then create the list for you and let you drag & drop to move up and down...exactly what i was looking for. - Zee.
To do: Buy Jason's Tai Chi DVD for a Christmas present http://www.alichi.com/, knowing at the back of my mind I have helped the impoverished soul to pay his programmers, next put his plea on all my rooms or go and tell everyone, so he that chap gets all the attention he needs to go forth with his chest out and shoulders up and thus make the world a better place! ;) - Jason

“Technical Question...I would like to have 1 post (the latest) show on the main page (index.php) with full content. This is setup in wp-admin. However, in the Categories, Archives, Tags, etc. (all the other pages), I would like to show multiple post with excerpts.”

I've tried using query_posts with no success, perhaps I'm doing it wrong... - Justin Korn
You need to create a "counter" variable before the loop starts and increment it with each post displayed. Until that counter reaches the value you need, corresponding to the number of posts you need displayed in full, you use the_content() to output your post. When the value is exceeded you use the_excerpt() to output the posts. Remember to use a conditional for the posts displayed in full only if it's the first page of the archive -> if(!is_paged) { the_content(); } else { the_excerpt(); } <- Good luck! - Alex Cristache
