As a Broker and practicing REALTOR, I currently see RPR as just a replacement for the local County GIS I use for public data. (also worth noting that MLS’ in my area are NOT the go to source for sewer data) It only becomes a killer app once the MLS data is merged into the already available public records. I would encourage the MLS’ and RPR to work together to make this data merger happen as a win-win. MLS gets compensated for the data collection piece and RPR gets to aggregate, slice, dice and resell (free to REALTORS is imperative if NAR wishes to keep it’s members). Just thinking out loud… let’s imagine RPR becomes the national MLS (very possible). Is it too far of a stretch to envision RPR being able to offer all NAR members it’s own white-label Realtor.com as a replacement for individual IDX’s?
