Check out the upward turn from Oct 07 to present. We need an open community where people can add phenotype data to their whole genome data.

A salad made by pan-frying chickpeas with leeks and a bit of garlic. The creamy dressing is made with plain yogurt and curry powder, and the salad is finished off with plenty of chopped cilantro and chopped red onion.

The practice of subsidizing handsets will stop shortly after there are more players in the Canadian GSM market. Number portability was the first nail in the coffin.

Yes. Suspicion confirmed. The Gene Sherps are at war with 23andme and other similar gene sequencing companies. I'd like to know exactly how pro-active gene counselors are with disseminating new knowledge upon out of touch customers. It will also be interesting to see how many gene counselors are willing to work with patients to help them understand their 23andme results.

Anyone interested in iPhone development will want to get their hands on Jonathan Zdziarski's iPhone SDK Application Development: Building Applications for the AppStore. I have a fresh copy here on my desk, and it's filled with tips and code from this noted expert. The following except is a good overview to get anyone started with the SDK.

Some people are the gate keepers of critical knowledge. Their rates vary. I get the feeling that the Gene Sherpas feel threatened by 23andme's low rates and self empowering business. The Gene Sherpas won't stop whining about 23andme reporting on breast cancer gene variants. Their concern seems more oriented towards business impact as opposed to genuine consumer well-being.

I'm sensing a tone of bitterness and contempt when these people talk about 23andme and other SNP sequencing services. Do the Gene Sherpas view the personal sequencing industry as competition?

This series of tubes we call the "interweb" was created to further scientific research yet the tubes are mostly filled with porn and canned meat. AWS makes a sideways contribution to the idea of a science commons. http://sciencecommons.org/ So when will AWS make a full frontal contribution to cloud porn? Oh, you thought this post was about creative commons? But seriously, when does main stream scientific research get on board with crowd sourcing and open source collaboration?
