@Kevin_Jackson cool - looking forward to your feedback.
@dwploc I'm finding that out. This is an experiment-only want data access on the road, best to use a 2nd physical net (iphone/at&t other).
Appistry Customer Clearent Named InfoWorld 100 Award Winner http://www.appistry.com/blog... /via @appistry <- great team, cool app.
@dwploc acid test will be next week-taking train to San Diego from St. Louis-results will be interesting. I'll post during/after.
comical 1st impression of verizon: activate mifi, can't open web acct to pay bill, must wait for snail mail (txt msg not avail).
ordered via amazon: everything very fast, smooth, until your each verizon customer service. oops.

other android devices just had one big wart or another, certainly nothing compelling enough to switch. maybe next refresh ...
droid and pre both tempting, but not ready for all that disruption to stay about the same (at best). Still, very glad for the competition.
tried to skip an iphone gen, but 1.5 years of banging around took their toll: replaced 3g with 3gs yestrdy(at least change was uber-smooth)
RT @ruv: I can now say that I served in the Israeli Army, albeit for 24 hours. My Passport and IDF issues are now resolved <- no bootcamp!
@ruv how did you fit boot camp into the 24 hour period? ;-) Seriously, glad to hear you resolved things.
@Fountnhead I think it's going to go other way - a fabric composed of atomic blocks- balanced sets of cpu, memory, disk - blended together
@Fountnhead agree with the fabric nature, just not the disagregation (at least at physical layer). Physics won't allow it.
@Kevin_Jackson lots of (good) news on the book ms ... we'll catch up soon.
@Kevin_Jackson yes went home on Thanksgiving - just an awesome gift. I'll post a note on a day or two.
@erickschonfeld AOL's "auto-gen news" may work as a model, but not sure that's a good thing - noise level etc.
@billynewport I completely agree about func programming - a relatively simple way to preserve inherent independence of operations and data.
... and I'll be off for some mods & upgrades, more on that later. #fb
Closer, closer ... hopefully with today's edits Execs Guide to Cloud will be off to the production process in Wiley ... #fb
dilbert evaluates cloud http://bit.ly/2etb4w <- always on with the latest.
RT @samcharrington: IBM's new "private cloud" is a 48-Processor System Z10 Mainframe. #TheyStillDontGetItFail http://www.fiercecio.com/techwat... <-aargh
RT @bettnet: I sense a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of American freedoms cried out at once and were silenced.#hcr<-argh
@wattersjames 'course I'd naturally have to say that I prefer our (@appistry) PaaS-much more open, pick the public pvt IaaS of your choice.
@wattersjames Black-box PaaS ok for prototyping, early stage apps - not all that helpful for production at any scale.
@wattersjames Between those two I lean towards more control - enterprise-grade PaaS just has to allow control.
@wattersjames IaaS gain more capability, but not nearly as important with a strong PaaS in place.
Going all retro today -listening to the mizzou game on an actual, physical, AM radio - not sure how to act. #fb
@Jakewk self-org has been key for us from day 1-only rational way to deal with the stochastic nature of 'things".
@Jakewk funny I've never read the book, though of course am aware of it. Our work started in 2001 based on these premises.
