"A long time ago you used to get points just for making a response (unless that was Howard who gave me points just for responding hah). The system looks a different now, somewhat like karma like 4FL3X mentioned, although I'm not sure how you see total points." - Boca

This is the best summary I have seen of the stock market all summer. I suggest printing it, keeping it by your computer, and reading it every morning before you start to trade. It's blunt, but oh so true. - Boca via Bookmarklet

"Original meaning of the word avatar was quite interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A... You don't seriously think I carry a sword and pose in a godforsaken artic fantasy landscape in real life do you? I like my avatar and it's staying. Not everyone's vision of the Internet and social media is the same. I know, I know... I'm banned :)" - Boca

"I had a feeling you were working on StockTwits. I've been aware of the site ever since Howard and Soren starting working on it. I'd like to talk to you more about this later, right now unfortunately a city water pipe is flooding the front of my property hah. Thanks." - Boca

"Agreed, very crazy shit in Georgia today, very sad too. Great pictures. I like your blog a lot, you have a lot of interesting things to say. You did ask for comments on the redesign though. The stripes distract me from the message of your photos and text. Maybe I'm just not a stripe-y person, and I hope that wasn't too forward." - Boca

"Well I'm glad to know Cramer reads you, Howard. Now if only he could work on comprehension of your topics, that would be lovely. I'll take your content + misspellings over Cramer's zillionth bottom call anyday. The only use I have for Cramer in this market is as a contrary indicator." - Boca

"Sorry, I have to disagree, I really like FriendFeed. I don't even need to subscribe to Michael Arrington's feed, I just read the stuff that comes through on the FF "flow". Very interesting, that "flow" of comments. In certain ways it's very different conceptually from Twitter. Stable platform, too. Oh, and management talks to you and tries to implement new features. Please don't throw oranges or tomatoes at me *ducks* PS you must be feeling rowdy tonight Howard" - Boca

"Is this where I admit that I watch all of Don Harrold's videos? I'm a sucker for a southern accent, plus he enjoys taking a poke at Cramer's absurdities, not to mention the pure entertainment value -- he's a must watch. :-) Seriously I think there is majorly large Pro-Ron Paul, Anti-Fed group on YouTube and they all seem to love Don Harrold. Good for him for grabbing the audience." - Boca

"I signed up with IBD online recently and liked it much better than the print version. Price is reasonable too. Totally agree on Barron's, it was the bomb in the old days (pre-Internet), now it all seems designed to influence the market a certain way, and not as useful." - Boca

"Wow, it "used ta be" if Howard asked for short ideas, we all came up with a list of faves. Even Howard the momo guy hedges via shorts, that's why he's in charge of the hedge fund (and I'm trading at home haha). Anyway I bought puts this afternoon on HRB. That's my current fave short pick, and I owe a hat tip to Option Addict and all the people at Fly's site for the pick." - Boca

"Congrats on the Amazon listing. It's standard Amazon practice to discount 30 to 40 percent off the cover price of almost every new book. That's the reason they have such huge market share, and the reason why most booksellers and small bookstores are slowly going broke or have closed. On top of that, if you have the "Prime" service (I think it's $75 or $80 a year) Amazon will ship it to you for free. In other words, Amazon's margins on the book are very slim, but they make it up in volume hah! Your publisher should get the same amount from Amazon no matter what price Amazon lists it at. Amazon is cannibalizing it's own profits, thankfully not yours. Good luck, hope you sell massive amounts of books." - Boca

I can only imagine the wave of shareholder lawsuits that are going to be filed against Yahoo now that it's come out that Steve Ballmer was willing to pay $40 a share for YHOO. Considering Yahoo is trading around $26 today. I have to say ... WTF Jerry Yang, what were you thinking? Carl Icahn is waving hello and I believe will do whatever he can to get new YHOO board members installed so that the deal can go ahead. - Boca
