"I make a sallad that just consists of a lot of things I like: * Rocket Sallad * Cherry tomatoes * Red Onions * Asparagus * Roasted Pine Nuts * Lots of Parma ham * Lots of Parmigiano Cheese * Dressed with virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar Not cheap, probably not slimming, but very good and very healthy."

"I used to spend summers in East Frisia when I was a kid. East Frisia is know, among other things, for its very strong black tea. Embarrassingly enough I don't know what the tea blend they use is and why it has this distinct character, but it does have a lot of character. I prefer mine without cream, but I occasionally drink it with "kluntjes": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... Other than that I am very fond of Oolong."

"None of the American presidential candidates as far back as I can remember would have stood any chance in any nordic country. I seriously doubt that anyone would have taken them seriously."

borud on How is it ok for Stubhub to use bots to bog down a tickets sites servers and buy all the tickets then turn around and sell them for double the initial cost? - http://www.reddit.com/r...
"gotta love capitalism. the fact that there is a market for these tickets at double the price, or more, just means they were priced wrong to begin with, doesn't it? oh, you don't like it? SOCIALIST, COMMUNIST PIG!"

"I'm not entirely sure. He gave a talk earlier in the day, there was a reception of some sort in the office and then later in the afternoon, when people had left, we joked around the office, took some pictures, and then had some dinner. I enjoyed talking to him. He's sharp, witty and warm. (we used to work for the same company. plus we have some friends in common)"

"I've been a few rounds around that block and you know what: the above is *always* preferable to ORMs. And you know why? Because with the above, most people will be able to make sense of what happens in what order when talking to the database. If you use an ORM you have to deduce what happens. You need to know what your ORM will do. Yes, the above is a bit more tedious typing, but in the long run it leads to fewer errors and fewer late night hacking sessions trying to figure out what the ORM layer was trying to do. (Of course there's what my dad used to say: "people never learn from other people's mistakes". So I don't suppose that any of my advice will be worth anything to someone who hasn't yet made the same mistakes I have)"

"Actually, when it comes to acting out the interests of IP owners, the democrats/liberals have a pretty bleak record. In fact, you'd usually want to side with republicans on those issues. You see, Hollywood usually buys the politicians that are more likely to allow them to say "fuck" in movies. Oh, and who keep alive their business models by pruning all those unneeded freedoms."

"In the future the Soviet will be seen as an almost utopian open and tolerant place as the world descends into corporate ownership like some Neil Stephenson future nightmare scenario, but with the addition of pre-crime and thought police. Yes, I know I am being overly optimistic."
