I received one of the infamous Knob Creek "Thanks For Nothing" packages today. Mine was a tube with a letter explaining why the awesome bourbon maker is out of stock, along with a black t-shirt that says, "I Survived the Drought of 2009."
Just for those of you on the high end of the bourbon spectrum who elevate to scotch, there's a new social network for Scotch nutters. Kinda cool. I joined, though I'm a relative rookie in the Scotch world. - http://www.forscotchlovers.com
Travel + Leisure went a bit different direction in their "50 Reasons to Love the USA" and noted rye whisky, as opposed to Bourbon as a great reason to visit Kentucky. Can't argue. But the picture is Four Roses. Do they make rye? - http://www.travelandleisure.com/slidesh...
Like Falls, I'm a Bourbon fan AND get to work in this wonderful industry. Heaven Hill Distilleries is my home. So, Elijah Craig fans unite! My call whiskey is Evan Williams Single Barrel. My favorite is a rye Rittenhouse 21 yo Single Barrel.
Welcome to all. I'm a bourbon fan and, though I work with Beam Global (makers of Jim Beam, Maker's Mark, Knob Creek, Basil Hayden, Booker's and Baker's), I enjoy tasting and sampling from the wide variety. What's your favorite?
