Quick review of the new Facebook iPhone app: much faster, more access, liking, better comments, snappier navigation, great photo management!
I am not seeing it on the phone? - Jordan Patterson
Yeah... just talked to someone about that. Turn out that you can't install a new version on the iPhone, you can only "update" (which isn't available yet for Facebook 3.0)... But you can download and install the new version with iTunes. - Brian Partridge
How crappy, thanks - Jordan Patterson
My recommendation would be to uninstall the old one on your iPhone, then go into the App Store and install the new version clean... - Brian Partridge
Yeah that was going to be my next idea, and it worked. - Jordan Patterson
K, good. It takes a few hours for the changes to appear in iTunes/App Store. Caching... - Brian Partridge

FriendFeed is better, deeper, yet Twitter works better on the go - Majento
There's a lot to like about FF, except it needs a bigger community. Twitter is like the iPhone - for iPhone it's all the applications, with Twitter (and Facebook) it's all about the number of poeple. - Kevin Krewell

Aaman: FriendFeed is FAR more defendable against spam than Twitter is. - Robert Scoble

Mahendra: probably not. - Robert Scoble
That seems like a good idea, but I think you're already following a lot of these people - Carlton Prest
Seyfi: why don't you follow me and see how it goes? - Robert Scoble
I've gotten 4 follow e-mails since my first post here from people I don't want to follow. Do the bots start running right around midnight? - RobinDotNet
Mahendra, you're not following the threads in Russian (that's my only hint) :D - Micah Wittman
Robin: oh yes. But I'm never sure what's worse. the people who just want to talk about the numbers or the people they may be able to impress. - Rachel Clarke
Aaman - Friendfeed doesn't make link-tracking easy, so it's less interesting for spammers to infest. - Mahendra (SkepticGeek)
Is this a test of interaction or more likely a sort of audience verification? - Gilgamesh
Robin, it's 9am ! - Stephane Tsacas
If twitter is noise, and FriendFeed is conversation, Robert Scoble followers are their own discussion. It's like using an entirely different website. - Carlton Prest
Gilgamesh: it is what you want it to be. For me I followed you. - Robert Scoble
Rachel, that's a good point. Is Facebook the same way? I joined that and suddenly got all these people I've nothing in common with who want to be my friend. Creepy. - RobinDotNet
@Micah: Oh, good I don't read Russian! :) - Mahendra (SkepticGeek)
Scoble: you convinced me! (thought you just needed self-validation, sorry) - Derek Pangallo
Derek: heh, yeah, I am watching this, among other things running across my screen. - Robert Scoble
Robin: Facebook is the same but I think to a lesser extent - it's harder to find people I think. But still got a load of friend requests that I ignore as I don't know them - Rachel Clarke
Robin: you mean like people you went to high school with and didnt' like adding you on FB - Derek Pangallo
I already do. what i mean is if we don't keep FF, Twitter limited to our interests, wouldn't it be garbage we already try hard to get rid of. Or how far can we extend our interests in life or amount of information we consume? - Seyfi Erol
Derek -- I mean people I really have NO connection with at all. I've only friended a couple of people I work with, and 2 other real friends. I'm getting friend requests from people I don't know at all. - RobinDotNet
Seyfi: you haven't discovered FriendFeed's groups and lists yet, have you? - Robert Scoble
I got a Russian-speaking follower on Twitter. I didn't follow him because I don't understand a word he tweets. - Dennis Jernberg
Mahendra, And I've been told http://translatorize.com has successfully translated all 6000+ (oops - update: 7000+) comments http://friendfeed.com/ideali... from Russian to English :) - Micah Wittman
Thanks Robert! - Jan Ignatius from iPhone
Seyfi: you can separate your friends into lists. That way you can keep your quilting buddies separate from your football ones etc. - Robert Scoble
I'm the spammer u follow alrdy HA! - Rich Weaver
Did you know that Facebook has started selling parts of itself to the Russians? At end of May, they sold 1.96% stake of Facebook to Russia's Digital Sky Technologies for $200M. - RobinDotNet
Robert: I shouldn't have underestimated you. You probably have started much longer comment threads on Friendfeed before. - Mahendra (SkepticGeek)
Mahendra, Robert, I agree, FF has been very good at keeping out junk - Aaman (Clone of FF)
Micah: Uh, wow! - Mahendra (SkepticGeek)
Mahendra: I have. I gave away $5,000 once and got more than 1,000 comments on that. But that cost me a lot of cash. Can't afford to do that again. - Robert Scoble
DST is run by Alisher Usmanov who is closely tied with Putin. You feel ok to that, but re-read the company's user agreement where it says it can share all of your info with third parties. Of course, it's irrelevant to this thread, but I thought it was interesting. - RobinDotNet
Robert: I think your Twitter follow is worth more than that? - Mahendra (SkepticGeek)
Even if it's a lame comment and I don't actually say anything? Woohoo! FF looks interesting anyway,,, - Matt Harward
Yes, Matt! :-) - Robert Scoble

FF is interesting assuming the topic is FF... and/or Scoble's next devilishly clever stunt to generate FF comments - John Hardy
John: there are lots of interesting topics here on FriendFeed. Did you know you could search by them based on number of likes? Click "Advanced Search" and try. - Robert Scoble
John: Nope. Twitter's 'bout Trends, FF's 'bout Friends. - Mahendra (SkepticGeek)
Very bold, I like it, are you going to keep the people you follow under 2000? - Joe Dawson from iPhone
Tell me the newest best way to use FriendFeed! - Shoichi

Plus, David, if you all are listening, you are listening because of my ability to find cool stuff. Mostly that's been because of FriendFeed over the past 18 months. Now I've seen how ascerbic Twitter's spammers have gotten on my accounts. - Robert Scoble
agree, it's an interesting experiment. - nchenga
Menno: actually it's not. There are many 1,000+ comment threads here. - Robert Scoble
Here's a search with all 1,000 comment threads displayed: http://friendfeed.com/search... - Robert Scoble
Interesting. This is going to boost 1000 egos for sure :-) - Freddie Benjamin
So will it be a matter of just trying to say ahead of the spammers by jumping from one early adopted social network to another? - JP Holecka - Jaypiddy
JP: no. I am not leaving Twitter. I AM, however, deleting all their accounts so I will no longer be passing them juice. - Robert Scoble
I wonder how will your FF homepage look like after this. - ahmet bulent
Does this make you anti-social media? - Cory Brown
To follow commenters from here on Twitter will be a lot of work for you Robert. Or do you have some magic tool that helps? - Tibor Holoda
Robert, how many of the 100k do you think you'll still be following when you are done? - RobinDotNet
~~~> Robert!! Follow me back again. [a] I'm a real fan of the @Scobleizer... and [b] I'm much nicer than some of these sassy bloofers. ;) - Kim Sherrell
1,100 - Robert Scoble
That's good to know. - George Hall (Australia)
So what if you have all 58k + comment on here? And you have to keep everyone! And your plan is foiled, sir. Okay give or take 10k for the neglected abandoned twitters and the spammers. Btw, you're already following me on both twitter and here. But come on, you're not really. : / - Lise
That's cool. I am finding the spammers too much to manage these days myself. - JP Holecka - Jaypiddy
I promise I want tell them - Noel Kelly
Because I can't keep myself from doing math, that's 1.1%. - RobinDotNet
Lise: I see you a few times a day, but you're right. Heheh. - Robert Scoble
Are you trying to make a point about FF v Twitter? I have spammy things to say about my amateur photography, potential homelessness, and run-ins with public-run health system in the US. Isn't all Twitter spam--just spam you want? :) - Dean Hall
the auto-refresh on this thread is mind-blowing, fun to watch - nchenga
Do you ever worry about SM burnout Robert? How do you pace your self? - JP Holecka - Jaypiddy
Interesting to note many of most commented threads are in languages other than English. Can we suggest FF has a better international appeal than Twitter? - Kaan Bingol
Good idea, as you say, stop juicing up the spammers - it'll be interesting to see the stats once you've finished. - Andrew Piggott
Dean: your Tweets aren't spam. I might keep you. Heheh. - Robert Scoble
I only followed people who were interesting to me, otherwise it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack of brain dumps. - Daniel Durrans
Exactly. So I expect to be cut. And considering I'm in a crowd of close to 60k, it'll be the same thing. - Lise
There should be a counter in front of the comments... - Willem Karssenberg
okay seriously ? - Asankhaya Sharma
What sort of comments do you want Robert? - Travis Koger
Lise: actually no. On FriendFeed I can absorb quite a few more people than on Twitter thanks to Groups. - Robert Scoble
a good cleansing is wise once in a while :) Power to the (real) people. - Benjamin
Travis: I'm already following you. - Robert Scoble
Lise: and because FriendFeed's search engine is better here too. - Robert Scoble
Robert, yeah I know. Thought you might have meant for your secretscoble twitter account ;) - Travis Koger
It's kind of like a giant SM break up Robert. *Oh the hearts you are breaking...* - JP Holecka - Jaypiddy
I'm fairly selective about who I follow and I follow so maybe you will follow me back! - Richard Cunningham from iPod
Robert, care to explain how you use groups in this kind of context? Because I don't get the point of following people who are then placed into a "I don't read this much" kind of group. How do you use groups so that you're (1) not overwhealmed, and (2) actually read what people are saying? - Ian Betteridge
How many people do you expect to end up with, Robert? What is a reasonable number? - Lise
You don't have to follow me on Twitter. I think the FriendFeed party palace is mighty fine. - Josette Torres from fftogo
(Not that I'll probably see your response, btw - something at the bottom of 350+ responses is effectively buried until FF has better threading tools. Which I'm sure it will, some day.) - Ian Betteridge
@Ian I believe that it may come in Google Wave. - JP Holecka - Jaypiddy
@Daniel - ditto, and for me it is generally development related also. Robert - I know you have to try and keep up with everything going on in the social media space, but I'm always surprised when people follow so many others as it must be extremely difficult to find the wheat in amongst all the chaff. - Donald Matheson
Robert: I did not know about that search trick. Thanks! - Menno te Koppele
looks like a lot of comments - Rory Partalis
Ian: a "I don't read this much" kind of group is awesome for serrendipity. Also, anyone who I find there who is high value gets quickly moved to a smaller group. - Robert Scoble
What? Are you saying you're not following me already...? ;-) - Jarno Peschier
Lise: on Twitter? Less than 2,000. I can't follow more. - Robert Scoble
Done. :) - Smeerch
Jamo: I am already following you. Scott: why not? I am already following you too. - Robert Scoble
Robert, it might be a problem for me re-gaining your following as my tweets are not 100% English only (whether that means trying to speak English or no English at all ;). How do you deal with occasional non-English tweeters? As that's clearly a noise for you. - Tibor Holoda
if only twitter were as engaging as FriendFeed has become, and as instantaneous as things like this comment thread, then maybe I would use it more. Hence why I'm all for unfollowing who you conceive as uninteresting; and if that includes me, then so be it! - Nick Soden
Tibor: I just skip over most of them. Sometimes I translate them to see if I was right. - Robert Scoble
It is my hope that I provide you with something as interesting as what you provide me with. Either way, I will continue to peruse your posts with interest. - James (!?)
hmmm - imran
Hi, I'm still newish to this social media thang - but good on you for taking a stand. - Jus
Do you prefer night owls? Because what about all the poor people in SV who went to bed at a decent hour and missed your post? Bummer for them, huh? - RobinDotNet
I'm back from picking my wife up at the airport and ran across this on my way back to sleep. - nuBound CEO - Mark
shhhhh - Luigi Filograna
Robin: heh, all the real geeks in SV are still up. - Robert Scoble
Interesting idea. I firmly believe SEOs are working day and night to figure out FF. - Ian Ceicys
Ian: I bet they are too since FF is starting to pull better on Google than Twitter is. - Robert Scoble
I am such a sheep. @markmeyerphoto - Mark Meyer from iPhone
I have nothing interesting to say, don't follow me. - burc sahinoglu from BuddyFeed
what about me? ... sniff - Andy Ghozali
Me me me ;) - Alemsah Ozturk from iPhone
looking for owls? - Dave Senior
Well I am out for the night. Good luck on your mass un-follow Robert. I look forward to your report on the results. - JP Holecka - Jaypiddy
Robert, this is looking like a long thread already. :) - Robert Miller
Andy, Alemsah, and Dave, I'm already following you. - Robert Scoble
Do you consider FF to be less spammy if you are trying to find your new Twitter "friends" here? - Dušan Šimonovič
Dusan: are you a spammer? - Robert Scoble
lmao on here you are, not on the big T tho nevermind I will follow you there too, been a fan.... - Andy Ghozali
bold and yet gutsy move...love the trending topic already! - Feersum Engine
Follow on FriendFeed or Twitter? :P Or Google Rader? :P - Qbat
Türkçe ne diyor arkadaş ? - Sinan İŞLER
The wild and woolly blogosphere is replete with all sorts of good stuff. Hard to follow 500 people, let alone 1000. I applaud you for trying to take the reins. - Jack B
hey there - deadmanwriting
And will you unfollow me if I send a DM ;)? - Sudar
I don't get it - Sheldon Levine
Qbat: I'll follow here on FriendFeed. Sheldon what don't you get? - Robert Scoble
Sudar: no, if you send me DMs here, that's good. - Robert Scoble
How long is the unfollow process going to take? And do you think FF will have as much noise as Twitter? - Duc Nguyen
So it's Twitter DM that you don't like? - Sudar
Sudar: right. - Robert Scoble
I'll make one comment and raise you two more. :) - Bryan Lee from iPhone
And will you follow me? don't know if you ever have, but I am following you on twitter. - Jus
Hey, Thanks for following me - Michael_techie
Would love your company, Robert. - Daniel Zarick from iPhone
Even worse is Twitter DM spam, of course. - Dennis Jernberg
It funny you put spammers, SEO experts, bots, social media experts all in one bucket. What are you implying? Btw, I'm none of these... - Peter Chee
.. and it works!! Just got a mail saying Robert is following me now... :) - Sudar
Peter: I did that to piss off the SEO experts. :-) - Robert Scoble
This makes me realise that posting from Twitter as opposed to "to twitter from FF" allows the Twitter stream to grow on the back of FF comments ! otherwise not : as in my case - what do you think Robert ? FF to Twitter ? Or FF aggregating all your tweets ? - Nicholas Paul Gordon from iPhone
Nicholas: shhhh, you are discovering my secrets! I'm doing more and more from FriendFeed lately. - Robert Scoble
I comment and you follow me. Its totally worth it - Arvind
Do I have to follow you too? :) - Mobilepax
Arvind: even better I was following you before. Mobilepax: no. I really don't care about followers. Inbound is more important than who is listening to you. - Robert Scoble
and does that mean I have to write in English from now on :) - Mobilepax
Awesome. I'm the 439th commenter. :D - Jhay Rocas
Mobilepax: no. I translate interesting posts to English. - Robert Scoble
More than 400 comments in about 2 hrs. Not bad. I wonder if there'd be nearly as many twitter responses/mentions. - Franz Binder
Franz: no way. Not even close. - Robert Scoble
Nice one - it's cool that you give friendfeed (and all the commenters of course ;-) much kudos. - Alex Vermeule (@alexve)
If you just follow everyone in this thread, won't you just wind up with noise from 'engaged' people. I mean, does this solve the problem? - Missionary Broadcasting
Good thing its 4am and my car alarm went off, otherwise you wouldnt follow me! I had to look up a video online how to break the key fob apart becuase aparently its battery leaked and was self activating the panic switch. Damn VWs! a replacement key is only like 150 bucks!! - Charlieray
Missionary: no. You have not discovered that FriendFeed has groups and MUCH BETTER search. - Robert Scoble
Its funny that if you say "SEO" on twitter its an instant 10 followers - Charlieray
A friendfeed promotion experiment? - John Mandia from iPhone
What is a comment? - Meriç Dağlı
I'd rather follow you on Friendfeed, Robert. Your tweets get cross posted here anyway, and there's a much greater sense of engagement in that conversation than there is over at Twitter. - Andrew Terry
John: no. Meric: you just made one. - Robert Scoble
John: I've been promoting FriendFeed for 18 months. Where have you been? - Robert Scoble
FF rocks :o) - Cowan Group
Everyone that "follows" you really does know you love FF. So did you build a tool to follow everyone back that comments on here or are you seriously going to manually follow people back? - Peter Chee
Theres 451+ comment here, do you really follow *everyone*? - Fajar Nurdiansyah
woohoo! I'm in :P - Tim Bergman
Because I am up at 1:20 a.m. PT, why not... I must be your target audience then. - Georgiana Comsa
It must show you how many people enjoy engaging with you Robert, with the number of people posting here. - Steve Farnworth
Amazing to see the comment thread to this entry expand constantly in real time. - Christian Bolstad
Peter: I've manually followed everyone on this thread so far. - Robert Scoble
Peter: although to be fair I've already followed quite a few people who have commented here. - Robert Scoble
Hi, you are already following me. My solution to get rid of spammers on Twitter is to block them, that is what I do. If everyone started blocking them, I think things would improve - Asgeir
Are you going to sleep tonight, or watch the fun?:) - Aaman (Clone of FF)
is that enough to get followed? - Ouriel Ohayon
do I accumulate credit, maybe towards an afterlife? You are already following me :-) - Anindya Chatterjee
really anyone? :D - Francesco Marconi
What about the SEO experts who accidentally find this feed? - phil baumann
Robert, but you're following commenters here, not on Twitter, right? Not that i care about Twitter that much, as for me it's just a pipeline. FF and FB are conversational platforms for me, or the places i hang out these days. - Tibor Holoda
Aaman: Sleep? some of us are just starting the day. We're waiting for the US to go to sleep so we can talk about you ;-) - Rachel Clarke
Spammers being blocked doesnt do anything as they are hoping for that 1 in 100 hit of someone clicking that link, eventually they get banned and create a new account. - Charlieray
the term SEO expert is a crock of shit - Charlieray
like that's gonna work... - thinkingpot
I hope you like hype machine loved tracks. - Neil Godfrey
FriendFeed is better only if U want feedback and have the time to check it out. - Marko Dvornik
Hello from the UK... - robkeynes
Marko: not true. It's better because it has very little spam. It's better because it has a better search engine. It's better because it has comments and likes. It's better because it's an aggregator. And more. - Robert Scoble
you don't have to follow back. but i'll take the chance to say great work with building 43. - Alexandre Gamela from twhirl
where's the 'hide button'??? :-D - Massimo MaxKava Cavazzini
Massimo: right up top. Heheh. Alexandre: thank you! - Robert Scoble
After 6 months out of the social media loop I came back to a whole bunch of follows that I either couldn't remember who they were or why I had followed them - how can that be relevent? So, I culled my follows back to less than 200. I'm now just looking to find the signal amongst the noise. - Colin Walker
What about FriendFeed? Is there any @notsecretscoble too? - Ludwik C. Siadlak
Friendfeeding for Scoble to follow me while on vacation in Montauk. There is something wrong with me. - Mitchell Schneider
Mitchell -- you just don't want to miss the fun. - RobinDotNet
robkeynes -- nice to see you up and about - RobinDotNet
Ludwik: no, because here I can just start a new list of users. - Robert Scoble
Well, this has been fun to watch, but it's almost 2 a.m. and I have to be very smart tomorrow morning, which is easier when I'm not too tired, so everyone have a great [whatever comes next in your time zone]. - RobinDotNet
Robert, I'm trying to understand this follow/unfollow strategy you are applying as Napoleon Bonaparte on a battle field ;) Interested to know the result - Thierry R. Andriamirado
pushing this thing to its limits just to see what happens? interesting. - livefast
I really do think the way Twitter has changed in the last few months, with all the media attention, certainly begs for it to be used differently now. - Nicola Quinn
SEO what?! :) - Kobayashi
Wow that's a whole lot of people commenting in the last 2 hours, Rob - How many of the new people you are following from this list are NEW to friendfeed? (estimate?) - Roy Herrod
i'm new! - Luigi Filograna
Roy: 40% - Robert Scoble
Does this constitute a comment or are you looking for some insightful commentary on the state of new media? ;) - Iwan
40%? This must have turned out to be one of the biggest promotions in FF history, even if it wasn't intended that way. BTW, I'm new to FF too. - Dennis Jernberg
guess it's good to clean up the list once in a while. - shadow
Ha ha, nice.... So any major ramifications from the mass unfollow? - Alistair (alpinefolk)
Alistair: other than losing about 1,000 followers so far? No major ramifications. - Robert Scoble
Robert, I'm coming out with a project in the Continuing Medical Education field in the next weeks so if you are interested, I wouldn't mind if you will follow me :-) - Marco Fabbri
Won't tell anybody, specially Seo people, ssshhhh..... - Giorgio Burlini from iPhone
No comment ... :) - Charlie Anzman
Too late. - Alex Gonzalez
You had me at don't tell the spammers... - Sean Kelly
I think it's a hoot. Now I'm wondering whether to reverse my recent move towards following more, not less. I do believe that from my experience so far FF is more attuned to building/maintaining community than is Twitter. - Des Walsh
Great move Robert - I like it a lot - Robert Davies
Des: on FriendFeed you can do both strategies at the same time. You can follow a lot more in one list while following even fewer in another. - Robert Scoble
Des - Once more people re-engage in the conversation here, they'll realize the continuing outright potential of Friendfeed. I still some here before I read my e-mail - Charlie Anzman
Hi Mr Scoble, I'm with you (but on a smaller scale) I unfollowed about 150 users on Friday, felt good! I pretty much hang out in FF now at my home page and my groups - Lee from iPod
wow...just wow :) Robert, you have many fans !! - Hayk H.
Good luck on hiding from the bots, they have ways of finding people.... :) - Chris Holm
well, who am I to refuse such a nice offer? here I am!!! - niccolò vecchia
Good to hear! I have only ~2000 followers, but I can't follow more at the moment due to Twitter's follow limit rule. - Martin Lindeskog
I can't resist. skeptical, however. - thinkQuick
Robert maybe the effort to get to 1 million is too great?? LOL Look forward to being in special company - Wayne Mansfield
lol! ;-) - auro
Following for the sake of it - Rudi
follow, unfollow. it's all work... - punkwithgun
Great way to test the chemistry between FF and Twitter. I like it. - E-Advocate Network
Robert - I'am definitely not a spammer when it comes to broadcasting anything to people, who doesn't want to hear it :) but I do sometimes respond (mostly on twitter so @reply) to some tweets not aimed on me, but that's what everybody actually asks for when publicly broadcasting anything. - Dušan Šimonovič
Lovely. - Kevin Montgomery
Scoble is a superstar :) - Peter
Woohoo. :) - mjc
Enjoy your tweets - Keith Humphreys
Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto. Himitsu o shiri tai. (Secret secret. I've got a secret.) - Rich Puskarich
Welcome! - Bob Stewart
Shhh...don't tell anyone but I'm neither of those (the spammers, SEO experts, the bots, or the social media experts,) though, I like the heck out of the concept of this thread... - Vincent Wright
@euaneggs :) - Euan Rowlands
Good idea about the unfollow. It was an interesting experiment whilst it lasted but given your lifestyle I'm sure most Twitter messages just passed you by. I never DM'd you however, it was nice to think that I had the option if I wanted to. Anyway I've been on FF for ages now, and what I need is a good FF app (for pc), any ideas anyone? - Nick Bristow
Nick: I just use a browser with FriendFeed. - Robert Scoble
Only 530 comments so far? Come on people you are not even trying. - John Cooper
FIRST... well almost - Rhys Amos from iPod
oh,i'm 538? - M∂hmood
hello hello! - May Wong
I am really curious to check the result of this experiment... - Alessandro Galetto from twhirl
why are you doing this again ? - startup ticker
To confuse you. - Robert Scoble
Lol! that dude definitely sounds confused :-) - Freddie Benjamin
:-) well done - Johni Fisher
Knock three times on the ceiling if you want me. - Gilbert Harding
Nice! Subscribe me!!! ;) - stakhov
I'm interested to see how this turns out for you. - Brandon Eaker
talk about noise! - Miles Media
550 commants!!!! wtf? - Rob Sellen :o)
Good to know. Scoble is a superstar. - jaspio
@Rob Sellen, did you see the comments on the most recent ffundercats podcast entry. http://friendfeed.com/ffunder... Over 1000 in a very short period of time. Although I expect that this post will also get up to those levels. - Travis Koger
Ah Scoble allways busy. - erwin blom
NOTICE: I am closing comments here because I gotta get some sleep. I'll consider doing this again sometime. Sorry if you didn't get in, but see you tomorrow night. - Robert Scoble
I've shown the video of the new friendfeed (coming Monday) to two groups of people. Both say it's a big step, but (details here):
They say that the experience of the first two minutes is going to be key and they need to get their hands onto it first before they have good feelings about that. - Robert Scoble
And... You're planning on posting the link to the video here? - Brian Partridge
I've watched the video now three times and I'm very excited, but worried that it might be tough to work with on a busy feed. Luckily there are lots of new ways to deal with that problem. - Robert Scoble
Brian: Monday morning. Yes. 9 a.m. Pacific Time. - Robert Scoble
a screenshot or two would be even sweeter - Sean Scott
Neither Robert nor I have our hands on the new interface either. - Louis Gray
Fun on the video? All of Arrington's comments and Steve Gillmor's comments too. - Robert Scoble
Saying that the first two minutes are key is like saying that the first single off an album is all that matters. Fuck that. - Mitch
what do u think of it Louis? - Zee.
That's why I asked the questions that I did, Robert. When you move in one direction, there will always be those who prefer to go the other way. - Louis Gray
Sean: we cant share screenshots until Monday at 9 a.m. Pacific Time. - Robert Scoble
Mitch: I agree with you. Facebook proves that theory wrong (that only the first two minutes matters). - Robert Scoble
Zee, one of the purposes of the embargo is to not have judgment put on it until it is in users' hands. It's not in my hands, and I'll honor the idea of not passing judgment, favorable or negative. But we'll all see soon! - Louis Gray
you know what, i just have one question...does it differentiate Friendfeed from Facebook more? - Zee.
Louis: I'm glad I recorded it. I keep seeing new things I want to explore on Monday. - Robert Scoble
Zee yes. - Robert Scoble
well that definitely puts a smile on my face...thanks Robert - Zee.
I can't wait! Thanks for the update Robert! - Michael Fidler
Its going to be a very interesting Monday. Some very cool features coming out. - Luke Kilpatrick
Both groups say they are impressed, though, and want to play with it and that it will get them to give friendfeed more of their attention. It'll be interesting to see if it can hold them. - Robert Scoble
oh and just saw your reply Louis, no probs - i understand - Zee.
I want to see it - Zafarali
I find it ironic, Louis, that you just wrote an article on hubris yet here you are writing how you think it's "amusing" that you don't have your hands on the new beta. Take a sip of your own medicine pal. - Mitch
Mitch, the difference there is that Twitter is telling you the right way to use their product. FriendFeed is developing their product to make it better, and won't limit anybody. - Louis Gray
Mitch: I just got access and will be writing up my thoughts and doing lots of videos over next day or two. This was my first comment in the new UI. - Robert Scoble
That doesn't change the fact that you come off sounding like you think you're different and better than your peers. - Mitch
Mitch: hey, we're just having some fun. By the way, it just went away. So, maybe the friendfeed team is watching here. - Robert Scoble
Mitch, if I'm sounding that way, I apologize. I don't believe I'm better or different. - Louis Gray
In an on demand world what's the point of wasting time with something they can't access yet. :-P - Richard A.
Good to hear. I don't mean to be the jackass but I've been drinking wine all night which brings out my "screw the man" layer which is usually buried deep. Just read Mona's "How to be a Gentleman" ebook and I still have a long way to go. - Mitch
Robert - If they FriendFeed team is watching this thread they won't dare reply. Me, my comments, and my suggestions are like HIV to them. - Mitch
Mitch - the best thing about FriendFeed is the HIDE feature. And don't be afraid to use it. It's saved me a couple of times, too. If all else fails, come vent in the bitchfest room. ;) - Mona Nomura from fftogo
No, sometimes people need to hear that they're stepping over a line. The same line is in different places to different people and I respect Louis for hearing out my opinion on where that line is for me. - Mitch
I don't believe I've seen a release of anything teased more than this has been over the past few days. Robert - are you on the payroll? You seem to be their one-man PR machine :-) - Steve Lacey
Steve: Robert is EVERYONE's one-man PR machine. He's an unstoppable force of good hype for future products and services. That's one of the reasons I follow him; if something's going down, Robert will know about it, point out the good sides, and make the whole journey that much more enjoyable. - Chris, Taskerrific Guy
Steve: they gave me a few pieces of cheese and some wine last night but that's the only things that friendfeed team has given me. Last year I got two T-shirts. I'm genuinely excited. I think that what is going on with friendfeed in particular, but also facebook and Twitter are very important to all of us. - Robert Scoble
Chris: the new UI has been excited and that's not the tequila talking. Thanks for the support and understanding! - Robert Scoble
Don't excite the UI too much Robert. If you go to jail again... :-) - Todd Hoff
I never even considered the tequila, Robert! :D - Chris, Taskerrific Guy
Noticed you changed your comment Louis (sixth from the top). May I ask that you state your reason? - Mitch
You took offense at the word amusingly, so I thought it made sense to make the statement clearer, Mitch. - Louis Gray
But don't you think it was integral to my complaint? I would have had no qualms if you had not used the word in the first place. By making yourself clearer to other readers you have made my comments less clear. As I have said earlier tonight, please put yourself in others shoes (to a greater extent than you might already be doing). - Mitch
what about the iPhone and mobile version of the new Friendfeed? - Cem Dalgic
You guys are killing me with all this teaser talk! :P - Susan Beebe
Susan, me too! The problem with the fast pace on the web is that you lose all patience waiting for the next big thing and it is heightened for me for a service that I already love, like FF. Looking forward to the release AND the comments from the people on line that I respect. - Martha
By the way, FriendFeed has said they're not just flipping a switch on Monday. The current and new UIs will both be available to everyone on www and beta.friendfeed.com respectively for some time. It feels like they're very conscious of the need to transition folks in a orderly, gradual way. I don't mean one users at a time, I mean giving you a choice as to how quickly you want to move. [Edit - deleted the embargo talk :-)] - Ken Sheppardson
Sorry Ken - I deleted my comment -- thought that a new post would be more appropriate rather than hijacking this one - http://friendfeed.com/e... - Brian Sullivan
They used the beta vs regular site strategy in the past -- and I agree it is a good strategy to transition in the new features. But I remember quite a few people (regulars I would label them) were caught out/surprised by the final switch when it happened the last time. - Brian Sullivan
Robert Scoble
To be fair we need another contest. How much of the new friendfeed was copied from Facebook. Your guesses here by Sunday night:
I give it - 50%. Then leave the other 50% for Facebook to jack up. - stephen pieraldi
oh, what a circle we weave. How much of FB was stolen from FF? and was it stolen or licensed???? Inquiring minds want to know. And you're still a big tease. - Karoli
Wait, how can Facebook catch up to friendfeed if friendfeed is copying features from Facebook? I'm way confused, resigned to waiting until Monday to see what you mean by all of this... - Brian Partridge
I am going to guess that they will copy all the good parts, you know, the stuff that works and everyone uses. - Karl Kovacs
ooohh. that's a hint! - MikeAmundsen
Brian, Facebook copied Friendfeed!!! Where do you think that "like" and "comment" stuff came from, along with the so-called not-real time but real time feed? - Karoli
I'll not take the bait. almost none. they have their own way. They had better because if it's just a FB rip, than they are doomed. FB has all the critical mass. - David Jacobs
Right! Didn't Facebook rip off FriendFeed? - Eric Herberholz
Karoli, so, it sounds pretty simple. For its new release, Friendfeed is copying features from Facebook that Facebook first copied from friendfeed. - Brian Partridge
brian, that just gave me a headache. FriendFeed works better than Facebook. Let's hope they don't break it. - Karoli
Can't we just engineer a merger and settle this? - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
The only part of facebook I like after their last poor copy of friendfeed+twitter is the iphone application. But I am not sure that is what you are pointing to. - Edwin Khodabakchian
i hate their iphone application. every time i try to comment on a status i get a stupid facebook error that eats what I just typed. - Karoli
I bet $5 FriendFeed is about to go head-to-head with Facebook. I predict user profiles, tagging, groups/pages, more. - Jesse Stay
I don't agree with Jesse and I'd also put $5 up on it. I don't think FriendFeed will go that direction. It's not a socially oriented site like that. FF is about sharing content, whereas Facebook is about connecting with people. - Brandon Titus
Wait, what? FF stealing from FB? The concept itself is just mind-boggling. I can't think of anything actually useful on Facebook that FriendFeed doesn't either have, or wouldn't be able to fit in without extremely changing the focus of the site. - Chris, Taskerrific Guy
Brandon, you're on - my definition of "head-to-head" is that they at least bring profiles into the mix, and at least one of groups/pages, tagging, and/or messaging. I'll pay via TwitPay.me. - Jesse Stay
As long as they leave the quizzes, SuperPoke, and other annoying applications out they can take (or take-back) as much of the design and functionality as they want. I think Facebook is going to go the way of MySpace sooner rather than later. - John Spyers
-7% is my question. I'm not sure how but I'm guessing it anyway. - Joe Pierce
My guess is that FriendFeed adds another column similar to Facebook's "highlights", and you can give certain feeds priority over others. - Daniel Sims
To be fair I don't care, as long as it works, and as long as people actually participate I'm happy. - Richard A.
Funny I just blogged about that today: http://bit.ly/jSKNl Facebook vs Friendfeed - Wayne Sutton
I think I'm going to have to go ahead and guess... uh... none? Well... except for Super Poke, that is. - Ken Sheppardson
Wouldn't FF want to differentiate itself from Facebook ? Copying FB (if Scoble is not being sarcastic) just helps Facebook. - Ahsan Ali aka. Slick
Ahsan: I was just being fair. Friendfeed is not copying Facebook. Although there is one feature in the new UI... - Robert Scoble
Robert: Did you get the OK to talk about Super Poke? - Ken Sheppardson
Ken: Friendfeed calls the new feature "stun." But it doesn't quite work the same way. :-) - Robert Scoble
stun ~ nuts ! - Ahsan Ali aka. Slick
Robert: Ah... I thought that was just draft/placeholder text. My mistake. - Ken Sheppardson
Actually copying Facebook helps friendfeed, it's less of a leap for non early adopter minded people. They don't have the "Why is the steering wheel on the right hand" as when entering an English car. To make a few sites the same encourages sliding between the sites. - Richard A.
I'm going with higher contrast comments, filter content (by flickr / twitter / etc), and possibly paginated "more" [twitter theft instead of just facebook] - Enrique Gutierrez
You know, it would sorta be slick to have a "Facebook Skin". Maybe you could set it up to morph into the native FF UI over 30 days or so. - Ken Sheppardson
Ken, Facebook skin for FF? And FF skin for Facebook :-) - Richard A.
anxiously awaiting the update - s'pose I'm the only person who thinks FF is more intuitive than FB the way it is anyway. How 'bout Eye-Fi to FF uploads, they're neighbors and all and two of my favorite products. - Rick Bucich
The hints are so obvious now: FF is moving toward the 'walled garden' paradigm. - Rob Michael (Atmos Trio)
Rob: no. - Robert Scoble
Rob: More of a moat/castle thing. <--- This is a joke. - Ken Sheppardson
...I forgot: text sarcasm= fail - Rob Michael (Atmos Trio)
Yeah, time to edit a bit. - Ken Sheppardson
This whole thread is driving me craaaaazy, mostly because of all the remarks about FF copying facebook, when it has been exactly opposite. Every feature FF rolls out lands on FB. At least be accurate when speculating. - Karoli
Don't worry about the walled Garden, it's the wallet garden that's a problem ;-) - Richard A.
Hah, FB has totally copied FF. Likes, realtime feed, comments all near exactly the same - Mo Kargas
I don't know if Robert and Ken are trying to mess with our heads here... This "stun" you speak of sounds like the FB "poke". I never got the point of the FB poke in the first place, it would have been more useful if there were a time stamp attached to it. - Andy Kruger
Andy: "stun" and "poke" don't do anything similar. Sorry for the confusion. I'm just having a little fun here. - Robert Scoble
Sounds like it will be a few agonizing days till Monday :( - Ahsan Ali aka. Slick
As long as they bring back that Matrix Logo--I'm in. - Rob Michael (Atmos Trio)
I say everyone copies about ten percent from each other, but mostly I would say that Facebook has been the one doing the coping lately. - MarkCarras
A couple guesses: 1. Inbox capabilities within FF 2. Networks - Tsega Dinka
Robert: Yeah... but what's "poke" anyway? In Afrikaans (the language I use FB in) the word used where is says "poke" in the English is "knyp", which translates back to English as "pinch". Just a short hop, skip and jump from there to "stun" (using a blunt object to the head). - Andy Kruger
Would love to see the ability to read your feeds in friendfeed before deciding to post. Would love to see more of a feedly integration. - Russ Jackson
I'd say that of the new FriendFeed design, we'll see that they've copied 15% from Facebook -but Karoli is right...otherwise it wouldn't be such a secret ;) - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
I think the new Facebook design seems to draw on the current FriendFeed design. People compare it to Twitter but I believe a better comparison is between Facebook and Friendfeed - Paul Jacobson
Robert Scoble
How long will it take Facebook to copy new friendfeed? Your guesses due by Sunday night here:
I think we'd need to know what the heck "new friendfeed" is first, Robert! - Brian Partridge
Which "new" part are you referring to? - Daniel Miessler
About as long as it takes to screw as they have... ??? - stephen pieraldi
~ 2 months I'd say - Glenn Slaven
What's new about FriendFeed? - wrecks
Ok I'll bite: 3 months. The have to see them, have some meetings to see what works, develop the changes and put together a rollout plan. - Peter Kelley
Without knowing anything...3 weeks. - Daniel Miessler
All depends how long it takes Zuckerberg to realise someone other than him had a good idea ;) - Glenn Slaven
about as long as it takes them to debug the code and get the beta out the door - Karl Kovacs
I too would like to see the *new* part of friendfeed - Amy Flynn
It's already begun. Without seeing the most compelling features of the new Friendfeed, I'm guessing Facebook will try roll out changes within 6 months. - Mo Kargas
Brian: :-) Daniel: all of friendfeed beta is new. We will talk on Monday. This is like gambling. Gotta guess before you see it. - Robert Scoble
But, even blind.. here's my guess: 3 weeks, 1 day, 6 hours and 21 minutes. (Seconds are a little difficult to pin down!!!) - Amy Flynn
They already have. Just waiting for the Twitter reaction to be forgotten before its released. - Glenn Edley
I'll put a guess in for... 5 months. Look how long it took for them to be Twitter-like. If the new friendfeed is truly a huge shift with amazing features, then it would probably take more than a simple tweak for Facebook to change and "catch up". And they just released that huge update, so it won't be quick. - Brian Partridge
I refuse to be drawn into this bulldust hyping teasing nonsense. :-) - Dominic Jones
It only takes a 1m 27s for copying to commence http://www.youtube.com/watch... - Micah Wittman
In 4.5 months they'll have something, but as with Like/Hide, it will be incomplete. It will be just enough to make Facebook users who look at FriendFeed think they've seen the features already. - Bruce Lewis
Welcome to Facefeed. - Jack (a.k.a. Jeber)
In a couple of months they'll start copying things. - Brandon Titus
Way too long - Andrew
I'll go contrary and say Facebook will NOT copy the new FriendFeed. :) - Louis Gray
2 months, 3 weeks, 4 days, 6 hours and 23 minutes. I'd guess the seconds but that would be a little absurd. - MVB (Curmudgeon of FF)
They'll copy it. Users will complain. They'll roll it back a bit. - KyleHase from twhirl
Louis, I think that you just doubled the tease! - Edwin Khodabakchian
facebook backend is dodgy... would be lucky if they could correct a speling mistake in less than 10 days! - simran from twhirl
4 months. - Alp
If we're talking about copying, can someone tell me what new features actually haven't been done anywhere before? The whole of the internet industry is based on copying features of competitors - there are very, very few ideas which are new. FriendFeed, for example, copied quite a bit from Jaiku in the first place. - Ian Betteridge
How long will it take Facebook to remove the 'new friendfeed' features due to user complaints? - Matyjas
10-12 months. - John Craft
I think, they started after this post :) - Ömer Faruk Kurt
get inspired not copy - Jayavasanthan J
It's going to take a few months for the signal from the dinosaur eyes to reach the small Facebook brain and then instruct the feet. - Ernie Oporto from Nambu
Ha ha, I'm Ernie on his prediction. - Dread Pirate PJ
No question that Facebook will eventually copy something from Friendfeeds new UI. Just look at the past year of Facebook changes. - Kevin Whalen
depends how awesome it is.. they cant copy it now - their user base is adverse to change and they just did a big overhaul.. cant wait! - andy brudtkuhl
They haven't managed to copy the current FF experience yet, so I say - forever. :) - Meryn Stol
Also, if the FF team in fact (as it seems like now from the latest reporting) did realize that not only they have an edge in technology/infrastructure, but also in terms of UI, and they are really "running" now, it won't even be a fair game anymore. All that's limiting FriendFeed is their own imagination and possibly their ability to get more VC fast enough. But I was already saying that a year ago or so. - Meryn Stol
July 25th 'cause that's my birthday. - Tac Anderson
It is awfully noisy, true. But it's fun to feel like a part of that community! - Brian Partridge
What could be interesting is that possibly Twitter noticed that MG and others will be live blogging right here on Friendfeed?! :) - Charlie Anzman
The key thing for WWDC is finding a reliable blog or two that is live blogging. Per Charlie, I'll be on FriendFeed as one source. I'll also tune into FriendFeed and Summize to see the conversation. - Mike Reynolds
$121.07, a new record for filling up my gas tank. Yikes! - Thomas Hawk
I just paid $72 (smaller tank) to fill up. A personal high. - Dave Winer
Gas is $3.79 in Boulder, and the bus system and the bike paths are great. - susan mernit
usually the tank cuts off at$75 because that's all the pump will let me have. But I entered in the wrong zip code with my credit card accidently so they made me go inside the station where I guess there is no $75 limit. I've never understood that $75 limit anyways, it always seemed dumb to me. - Thomas Hawk
It's about $4.45/gallon here. I'd have to pay more than you, except my gas tank is only 13 gallons. - Raoul Pop
Ouch. - Jeremy Kunz
Dude that is a huge tank. Are you driving tank? :) - Jeevan Padiyar from Alert Thingy
My $77 the other day was the most for me . . . the only good thing in NJ is the relatively low gasoline tax. Of course, it is still more than the oil companies make per gallon - Batona
Holy crap. Down here in Venezuela, that would have cost me $4.82. Probably one of the few good things about living in this shithole. - Guillermo Esteves
Whoa. - Eric Florenzano
My eyes just filled up with tears. - Akiva Moskovitz
What do you drive? 28 gallons is a huge tank! - Brian Partridge from Alert Thingy
ouch. - Andrew Smith
Haha, Jeevan, not a tank, but close, it's a Chevrolet Suburban. I feel bad a lot about driving such a gas guzzler, but we've got 4 kids and 2 dogs and not many cars work for our family. We try to drive as little as we can and I always either take public transportation or casual carpool into the City. - Thomas Hawk
whoa!!!! What are you driving?? How are kids earning minimum wage affording this?? Our driving culture is finished. - Joe Mac Stevens
Same here Thomas, I can't put more than 75 bucks in if I use a credit card - Kenneth LeFebvre
How much is gas in Venezuela, Guillermo? (FYI, we're at about $1.32/L, or approx. $5.28/gal here in Winnipeg today) - Trent Olson
@Guillermo: just curious though: is that a lot for gas there? Is the price going up a lot there as well? - Trent Olson
That's crazy, gas is still around $3.89 here and it "only" takes about $60-$65 to fill my tank up. - Aaron Myers
Cheney cackles....Profits - Andrew Smith
what da hell... Time to get rid of that car! - Bai orane sato
The price has gone up about $.30 a gallon in the last 2 weeks or so I think. Bai orane sato, we need a big car for the four kids and 2 dogs. But a friend was also telling me the other day that sometimes it's better to keep driving a less efficient car than to ditch it and buy a hybrid due to the environmental impact of manufacturing a hybrid. - Thomas Hawk
no "Bai orane sato"... time to get rid of that gas! - Xavier Donat
Yeow. Mine is about $65. I rarely drive, so it lasts a bit. Of course, with the turbo and my lead foot "a bit" is not so long. Oops. - lisa-k
Our costco has gas at $3.99 today - Christian Burns
I paid $3.99 a gallon this afernoon and stopped after about 5 because it was just too depressing to watch. - R. Ferguson
I still think gas is too cheap. Maybe when it's $6 or $10 a gallon people will seriously consider alternatives. - TranceMist
@Trent, it's been at that price for the past 10 years, subsidized by the government. - Guillermo Esteves
Saw $4.89 premium here in LA today. Setting aside massive demand destruction, which seems frighteningly unlikely, the upward trend is not going to stop. - Anthony Citrano
Sorry to rub it in but I love my Prius. I get 400 miles to the 10 gallon tank! - Steve Rubel
I pay the equivalent of $11 a gallon or so - as does most of Europe. It's not really affected us much... - Simon Bisson from Alert Thingy
Easy access to relatively cheap energy is what has allowed the R&D and technology sectores of the US to thrive - and should be a major priority goign foraward. Destrying the economy to try and force "alternatives" is just silly. Maybe if the "environmentalists" hadn't been shutting down the nuke industry for 30 years we woudl be better off huh? :) - Soulhuntre from twhirl
Try paying for the full tank of a Suburban!!!! :( I don't like SUV's no more. - americanm
Thomas - There was an article in the newest (I think) Wired magazine that talks about how much worse it is to buy a new hybrid for that reason. I think they said you'd be better off buying an '87 Tercel, at least as far as environmental impact goes. - Bob
I'm just happy I have a company gas card. With the amount of driving I do, I'd have to quit if they didn't pay for it. Gas shouldn't cost more than groceries. - Bob
That's about what we're paying to fill up our Avalanche. It's frickin' brutal, but there's not much to be done about it at the moment. - Roger Benningfield
amatours...just paid 77 euros for my car (47 liters)... euros ok? not dollars... :( - Luigi Centenaro
Oh my god... Just a few years ago, gas dropped briefly to $0.99 in California, just north of Los Angeles on my trips between to LA & SF. Used to be a $12 trip ($25 RT), now maybe $50-60 ($100-120 RT). Airline tickets might be the way to go... Last time I filled up for below $3/gal in SF was 2/8/08 ($2.99 at Arco in Marin). Collection of gas photos from past 3 weeks http://friendfeed.com/e... - Mitchell Tsai
$ Saving Tips: Bike where possible. Take the transit for distances. Get a motorcycle if you're single. Car pool. Get a small car even for families (you don't need a Suburban; leave the dogs at home). Drive slow, don't step on it. Inflate your tires. Maintain your car under the hood. - Mohamed J
Thomas: Cheapest SF gas now is $4.17. I just filled up again... Re: environmental impact of car: Cost of gas still pales next to cost of a new car. For me, 12,000 miles/yr x $0.16/mile = $1,900/yr in gas (used to be $500/yr). Cost of a new car ($3,000-7,000+/yr) plus increased insurance ($300-3,000+/yr) still dwarfs the gas cost, and the envionmental cost is bad. That's why I still drive my 1992 Acura Integra (22-32 mpg). - Mitchell Tsai
For those who asked my Twitter use is way down because I find the conversation easier to initiate and track on Friendfeed.
One thing I'm considering - make FriendFeed my home page. Displace My Yahoo, which has been the incumbent for years. I tend to fire up the browser and go right to FriendFeed anyway. - Hutch Carpenter
i agree. friendfeed makes it much easier to communicate, which is why i'm reading and commenting on this on FF, not twitter. - Morgan
Actually, for both services, I'm a fan of desktop apps like Twhirl - Marc Vermut from twhirl
@marc, i like thwirl as well and use it for everything, but it is buggy for FF reply comments. occasionally when the feed updates it deletes your incomplete comment which is frustrating, so for long replies to FF items i go straight to the web site. - Morgan
FriendFeed is always at the ready in a Mozilla Prism instance on my computer. - Morton Fox
yes, Thwirl buggy for FF replies, v. annoying! - Ivan Pope from twhirl
Currently, in the UK, diesel is about $8-$9 a gallon. Filling up costs about $120. Yeah, it sucks, but prices need to go up in order to prompt development of environmentally-friendly technologies and public transport. - Tom Morris
I believe we should develop environmentally-friendly tech, but not based on a lie on supply to jack up prices. We need more user-friendly environmentalism for it to work in the long term. - Kit Krash
I'd love to be a fly on the wall in that meeting. Something tells me Murdoch would challenge Obama. Not disrespectfully, but it's too rare that you witness someone asking serious questions of a politician and expecting real answers... - Brian Partridge
Well if anybody "walks the walk" it's Murdoch ... too bad he usually walks the wrong way. - James
The direction he walks in in the eye of the beholder (I agree with you), but you have to kinda appreciate how he walks ::his:: talk... Ballsy. - Brian Partridge
Yes indeed if I had Murdoch money I'd walk and talk just as I so desired (smile). Ballsy is accurate. - James
My initial reaction was also shock, but after reading the handy-dandy Mahalo link, young Alex probably has Asperger Syndrome. Have any of you ever dealt with a student that has Aspergers? None of us were in the classroom, but it's not unlikely that he was beyond disruptive. If "disgusting" and "annoying" are two words that 5-year-olds use to describe him, imagine what having a larger vocabulary would produce in terms of adjectives. - Brian Partridge
I agree WTF! It's a shame that this poor kid who has Asperger Syndrome will have to rebound from this. It's a sorry state we're in when reality TV is acted out as part of a school activity. Trump will be firing him next. - Larry Kless
Dreaming of the 3G iPhone... I read an article that listed speeds up to 15 times faster than EDGE! "Up to", I know, but ::damn::...
I hope there is a reasonable upgrade path for exisiting iPhone users. - Thomas Hawk
Your current iPhone will show you that path really easily. Hit map then type in your closest Apple Stores address and then ask it to plot route! I'm super excited about the new 3G iPhone and all the coming updates to the 3G AT&T network. They are saying that we may see speeds of 7+ MBPS as soon as 2009. - Geoff Schultz
LOL @Geoff Shultz - Jacob Nahin
Well even 7+ Mbps is decent... Any idea what EDGE gets now? I've seen numbers online of up to 236 Kbps. So a conservative speed of 5 Mbps for 3G would be 20 times faster? That's pretty nuts, if it's true... - Brian Partridge
