Are you asking this with a straight face? - Michael Markman
there's the question we all need to really think carefully about before we vote this november - Susan Beebe
is that a rhetorical question? - ~C4Chaos
sadly, they would both be substantially better than the current president. - Sam Harrelson
easy answer: who has more experience? (Biden 6 term senator or Palin 18 months as governor + 6 years as a mayor of a village) - Brian Breslin
I've used this method of logic a couple times in debates here on FF. It's met by stony silence by conservatives and Republicans. Yes, Biden of course. Palin is not Laura Roslin. - AJ Kohn
I haven't done my research yet, but, just on first pass.... it is hard for me to take Palin seriously. - Yolanda
Are you saying the next president isn't going to be an independent or third party candidate? Darn. - Sam Lesher
I have found mothers infinitely more qualified to deal with being surrounded by constant insanity. Props to moms who stay home with their kids. I would have to think being a VP would be easier. - ChangeForge via twhirl
Oh, I assume everyone has seen the video of Palin asking what the VP does everyday on CNBC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... - AJ Kohn
Brian Breslin, not so fast... While it may be easy to agree on the surface - think about perpetuating the "same ole' same ole'" in DC again... Both candidates scare the ba-geez-us out of me... I think I might actually prefer the "I don't have a clue about DC" candidate. ;-) - ChangeForge
So guess I'll take the less popular on this one and say Palin. My logic is that a new outsider with less experience is sometimes more likely to bring change in any situation, whereas someone with long time experience may not see things with new eyes. Like I said, going for the less popular underdog, but hey in the end we are all Americans and all must work together. - V.Brown
@michael Markman, @ c4chaos This is VERY serious question - Jeremiah Owyang
AJ Kohn - that cracks me up... maybe I should retract my previous statement. If she doesn't know what a VP does all day - geez... Dan Quayle anyone? - ChangeForge
that is a great video AJ Kohn. Although I prefer Tina Fey on 30Rock - Roberta
If the Republicans are intelligent, they will actually have a fight @ their convention and elect a VP that could do the job if required. It is not mandatory for the GOP to go with McCain's choice. McCain has decided on Palin for all the wrong reasons. - tagami
It cracks me up and then I think, OMG, that's scary! I'm guessing someone has explained the position and responsibility to her now. "Get her a job description to read fellas!" - AJ Kohn
that VIDEO. omgz. she's like britney, lindsay, and some random villager from northern exposure wrapped into one dumb, annoying-voiced package. - jeneane is in the house
I'm having flashbacks to that TV show...what was it? Something about a woman VP that became Prez after the Prez died...maybe an 'outsider' with ties to rural America is what we need...just a thought... - Estie Cuellar
@jeneane: the longer version actually has her saying that 'it's cool' if they want to investigate her for ethical violations. Watch and you'll really get that Brit meets Ed from Northern Exposure vibe. - AJ Kohn
now I'm totally confused, I thought it was "time for a change" a time to bring in outsiders and not the "same ol same ol" isn't that what Obama has been saying in re: to experience in being THE President? Curious why we're looking at IF the president croaks in re: to the importance of experience, yet not the actual president who WILL be taking office in a few short months... - Deborah Micek
struggling with this one, no one the ballot would be my first choice. she at least has been an executive. The rest of the ticket are people who talk and vote, not the person who has to live with their own decisions. - Matt Rogers
you gotta be kidding! Biden, hands down. - Joe Buhler
What's funny is the Democrats here will say, "are you asking this with a straight face?", while the Republicans will all say, "are you asking this with a straight face?" ;) - Jesse Stay
More interesting question: Who stays on stage longer before the hook comes out... Sarah Palin or Harriet Myers? - Christopher Galtenberg
++ Christopher. That'll be pretty hard to pull off with the convention next week! - Tad - just Tad
Are they still calling Wasilla a village? One of the fastest growing areas in AK. But that's completely off topic. - JMS
It's all relative JMS - the whole state is a village compared to LA or Chicago - Tad - just Tad
...Ron Paul? Sorry, had to be said. - l0ckergn0me
True. But it's a very large state with some very unique issues. Just something to keep in mind. The population may not be large, but that doesn't mean that it's an easy state to govern. The political problems up there with the good ol' boys network is really something. Kind of makes me think of Chicago. - JMS
Eh - whatever. She may be a wonderful governor of Alaska, but I have no desire to see a creationist activist sitting a heartbeat away from the presidency. - Tad - just Tad
Can we start the whole process over and get some new candidates? I just can't excited about either one of our choices. Hmmm...I don't remember if I've ever been excited about the choices since I was old enough to vote. Ugh. - JMS
Make sure the Speaker of the House is competent too, just in case we lose both President and VP. - Morton Fox
ChangeForge, are you forgetting that our current president ran on the 'i don't have a clue about DC' platform, painting the infinitely more experienced gore and too inside the beltway? - faboo mama

FriendFeed Rooms: ben bloch posted a message

This is where admins and moderators come into play. What constitutes a topical, "relevant feed"? - Anthony Farrior
We're talking about it in the Environment room. Will it add community or noise? Jury is still out. - Chris Baskind
this was my first thought, great idea, could become a noise machine without the right pruning. - Tsega Dinka
I'm not planning on it. The concept does not fit well with the few rooms I moderate. - Kevin D. White
For some reason I can't get a shared items feed from Google Reader to work. - David Owens
I did it for the Achewood room (http://friendfeed.com/rooms/ac...). Chris Onstad has feeds for each of the characters in the strip, and it lends itself really nicely to it. - Mark Trapp
Others are talking about doing a FF search on the public feed and adding that to the room (I have a Formula 1 room -http://friendfeed.com/rooms/fo... that I have added a search for "formula 1" rss to to see what happens) - Brian Sullivan
seems to be a problem when using a ff search in a room http://friendfeed.com/e/4d6d06... - Brian Sullivan
I've added several feeds to my two rooms. The twitter room has the twitter status blog, which just seems too perfect, and my mac room now has a few mac feeds for news and software. Seemed appropriate to me. - Brad McCrorey
Brad, those seem like appropriate uses for room feeds. I couldn't imagine that a feed would be beneficial to this room. - ben bloch
i think you have to carefully deliberate on what feeds to bring in. what would you bring in here? - Brian Breslin
we could add the feed from every other room and make a master friendfeed rooms room (just kidding) - ben bloch
Just added a feed to the Zune room I created. I'll have to see if I like that or not, as I usually Share posts into the room from the feed I added anyway. So it seems that if the feed has lots of posts Shared in the room, there's room for lots of duplication... - Craig Eddy
Consensus in the Environment room was "no." But i think the feed feature will be useful to a lot of people. - Chris Baskind
Interesting idea. Including the entire netvibes: WorldDemocracy into #democracy kinda. - MattisManzel
I think it's a good addition to the rooms, whether too much will lead to overkill remains to be seen! - Joe Dawson
For sure, Will be very useful if used properly, there is allready rooms centered around all users including their feed ex. http://friendfeed.com/rooms/sh... - Tony C.
I have a room (lastfmfeeds) that is entirely built around the feeds that go into it. Over a dozen of us have shared our last.fm "recently played tracks" RSS feeds, allowing commentary on the tracks that show up. One person is also feeding the usual last.fm "loved items" feed. Only administrators can add feeds, though (which is probably a good thing overall, but was a little time-consuming in the beginning). - Ontario Emperor
