At the very least, they're going to find it very hard to argue against the per song damages, given that the people who set the precedent for that valuation was...themselves.

People *do* follow Jesus like Nazis followed Hitler, though.

I think this is The Family dude doing verybadthings in Uganda. Where they are trying or have already made homosexuality a serious crime and having gay sex if you are HIV punishable by death. Nice one, Jesus guy!

This has to be the viralest video ever communicated. Everyone's posted it. I wouldn't be surprised if right this minute, Hu Jintao is watching it. (I know Kim Jong-Il is, obviously.)

But he is cheatin' - Those raised dominos that pocket the balls are clearly on hinges. It would be relatively painless to line those up for the money shots and then just join them up with freestanding singles. I call foul!

"and may use litigation against public broadcasters such as the BBC, who use material spawned in his papers." Exactly what material is he talking about? clamping down on opinion pieces of things like the dreadful Gordon Brown can't write saga? 99% of news pieces are down to Reuters/Associated press anyway, so what - he's going to say it's first dibs on any piece of churnalism that hits...

So... Murdoch thinks we'll side with him against Google? "Fair and Balanced" versus "Don't Be Evil?"...

It's absolutely insane. A friend's been using the beta for a while and swears it's witchcraft.

I remember seeing this demoed last year and being all OMFG IF IT WORKS ITS A NEW WORLD and hey, if it can pull that chord apart then a whole legion of new breakbeats is sure to gloriously rain down on our ears. WOOOO!

I've mentioned this to a bunch of people, a bunch of times, but it really is good and you should read/bookmark/rss the bastard.

I LIKE this. It's missing something about how part of the reason that we affix so much to photos is because we've not much choice - dating site profile writing is 99% unbearable, useless fucking gruel - but I don't have any spreadsheets to fold into paper tigers on the fact.

Yes, scientists do much good. But a country run by these arrogant gods of certainty would truly be hell on earth

This is like a cancer-swelled offcut of the political obfuscation on the issue. Awesome.
- Steven Bailey
Come come, Markington. We can't rely on bald, lab-coated, sneering scientists - or 'truth-mongers' as I like to call them. If they're so innocent, what about all those Frankensteins they've brought to life? Besides, are we so sure about their high-minded theories? Does anyone really believe in 'electromagnetism' these days, or 'gravity'? I doubt it! Look at how things were in medieval...

I was pretty much on the verge of complaining about ths article. It's fucking NUTS.
- Tont Coles
I'm pretty certain that they saw how much their web traffic went up with the Moir stuff, and that they're basically getting their writers to write whatever they want, as long as it annoys twitter.
- Duncan
Your post there is like a bit that was edited out of that article because it was too conservative.
- Steve
I'll be honest with you, I just couldn't face reading the article because it looked too nauseating. Double :( OH GOD HE ACTUALLY SAID WHAT MADE HITLER BAD WAS SCIENTISTS. HE SAYS ECSTASY NOT BEING DANGEROUS IS JUST ONE PERSON'S OPINION. I CAN'T READ ANY MORE. (IS SICK ON DESK)
- Joff
It's amazing. I read it again, just to confirm that there is literally no hope for the world.
- Mark Sorrell
It so unhinged it can only be seen as a deliberate traffic-driver. Note how the highest-ranking comments always attack the mentalist peices rather than support them. This means that soon, The Mail will be selling ad space for the demographics it most offends. LOL.

Abso-fucking-lutley unbelievable. Could it be any more obviously corrupt/stupid? Drugs are bad, m'kay....oh no wait, they aren't.

Yeah, this is bonkers. I can see it backfiring really fucking badly.

I don't see what the problem is really. He simply wasn't saying what they wanted to hear. What's so wrong with that?
- Duncan
I think the government's argument is that he was undermining their policies by speaking out of turn. Which he was, but he was right to do so. I think it could get nasty though, as he's clearly an articulate speaker and he has science on his side.
- declan dineen
Of course he was right to do so. You can't go, 'look, we've got a Scientist, so we know what we're talking about!' and then get rid of him the minute he says something that's contrary to to the party line, because personally, that does make me start to wonder about the independence of those scientists whose findings support their way of thinking.
- Duncan
The big push starts here, though, just as it has in the States. Hopefully, once the whole review board quits in outrage, it'll be Johnston who's forced to answer for his utterly idiotic decision.

Expects to launch by end of the year with a price of under 100,000¥. That's currently something under £664. That's a hell of a markup for one more screen. Other than that, pretty awesome. More of this sort of thing please manufacturers.

Relatedish, but I really liked This American Life's explanation of what a CDS is, and I still don't understand how they were never regulated - http://www.thislife.org/Radio_E...
