Very cool, and definitely looking forward to hearing how it works out. I've also looked into Confluence, and have tried just pure Wiki solutions as well. - NatBlair
"I plan on open sourceing the code after I've been using it for a while. Maybe some other small labs want to take it up and tune it?" -- Most excellent. Small suggestion: you might consider making it Open (e.g. use sourceforge) from the beginning, so as not to miss out on any potential assistance? I'm not sure what the advantage would be in waiting until you've beaten some of the bugs out -- let others help with that from the start! - Bill Hooker
And, if you wanted to go really hardcore into project planning stuff, there's always LiquidPlanner.com. Free for small number of workspaces. But it's probably overkill. - NatBlair
Seconding Bill. You've got willing beta testers, use them! - Mr. Gunn
Hmm of course I'm still considering making the code available right away. However, my situation may seem familiar: I'm shelling out $500 out of my own pocket (which is 25% of my monthly salary after tax) to get a lab website nobody else has. So of course I'm also weighing the chances of someone benefiting from my hard-earned cash to my disadvantage. I'm still undecided. - Björn Brembs
If I get a job rather than ending up on the street (kidding... sorta) I'd be happy to chip in a few $. - Bill Hooker
If it's just hosting you need, I've got way excess capacity in my dreamhost account. I'd be happy to set you up with a shell account, and we can buy more bandwidth/cpu cycles on the fly as we need them. - Mr. Gunn
I still have some hosting space. I'm already doing some testing with the first layout. I have sort of decided to go with e107 as CMS. It's just that I want/need some features that require more programming then I have time for. http://lab.brembs.net - Björn Brembs
