If you can't demonstrate an HTTP based API with curl, you might want to ask yourself, why not? (disclaimer: nothing is 100% of the time).

Trying to make it to Chicago every year in January, and having it fail on me each time, is very frustrating.
Fixing autoconf warnings may not be exciting, but it is certainly nice to not see the warnings on builds.
