Estrin is brilliant. she has some great ideas on how to create a culture/country of innovation. must read. First, stop focusing on Wall Street and short-term, quarterly thinking and actually take risks. also, its very refreshing to see that Cisco CEO John Chambers' speech at the CEA's Leaders in Technology dinner during the 2008 CES had the same message as this former Cisco CTO. - Brian

Amazon (like Apple) should report number of units broken down by region or country instead of making blanket statements (1 million in 3 days! where? total across all 22 launch countries?) or just letting market analysts speculate. WallStreet and Consumers will reward companies that do disclose this info - Brian

Great perspective. I like: "USAA: So $135 a barrel, or $4 a gallon, is just the free market at work? Dan Denbow: To a large degree, yes, but that doesn't mean that's fair value based on any measure of the supply and demand fundamentals. Whether it's Internet stocks or condos in Florida, we've all seen free markets get caught up in momentum and detach from the fundamentals. We believe that's what's happened, because beyond the dollar, nothing has fundamentally changed and the market is well supplied." It goes on to talk about how the dollar is close to rock bottom as well. Very great read. - Brian
