I have a fave moment of every concert I remember attending, @myblankie. With New Order it was something about Hooky behaving like an ass.

I'm not too fond of Grammy/mainstream music but I quite like Adele - a lovely gal with a lovely voice, but it's the songwriting, you know?

Prior to Marc Almond my favorite concert ever had been Gang of Four, at Portland's Starry Night (now The Roseland), the "Hard" tour...
(c'mon, join in any time) "...I don't belong to you, you see / Take a look at my face for the last time..."
It was a love fest... a freakin' love fest. I was caressing some dude's head before I realized it wasn't Marc Almond, but we didn't care.
Top moment from top concert ever for me, I must admit: Marc Almond, Seattle, the Up All Night tour, encore of "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye"
"I put up with all the scenes and this is one scene that's going to be played my way." (everybody sing) "Take your hands off me..."
Without having heard it I'm certain that Nouvelle Vague's cover of "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" is superior to David Gray's.
“You're used to wearing less / And now your life's a mess / So insecure you see”
"I tried to make it work: you in a cocktail skirt and me in a suit (well it just wasn't me)"
"You and I had to be the standing joke of the year / You were a sleeparound, a lost and found, and not for me I fear"
Apparently David Gray has since popularized "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" and I can gratefully say I have never heard his version.
"Standing in the door of the Pink Flamingo crying in the rain / It was a kind of so-so love and I'm gonna make sure it never happens again"
It wasn't my inflection, mind you - simply no one knew the song "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" - I guess it's too old or too obscure, or both.
Again, no one at the @Starbucks got my pun-tastic Casa Cielo/"Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" reference. A barista promised to look it up., though.
