Even though the legal profession depends heavily on writing, legal typography is often poor. Some blame lies with the strict typographic constraints that control certain legal documents (e.g. court rules regarding the format of pleadings). But the rest of the blame lies with lawyers. To be fair, I assume this is for lack of information, not lack of will. This website tries to fill that void. There are numerous guides on typography for generalists available but none specifically aimed at lawyers. So as one of the few typographers-turned-attorneys in America (yes, there are others) I figure that if I don’t do it, nobody will.

Works as advertised: converts SWFs to several video formats. Not a fan of the custom interface skin, and the conversion options are limited for my tastes. Price is a tad high for what it does, but if you do a lot of SWF to video conversion, it should justify the purchase.

It's a really powerful converter that can handle most formats you throw at it, but is severely hampered by its horrible, HORRIBLE interface.

The Invoice Machine is a joy to use, with its clean and straightforward interface. My clients appreciate me more because of timely and professional invoicing. This is how more web apps should look and feel like.

Excellent quality for a free game, based on production value. The kid-friendly alignment makes it appealing for gamer parents who would like to play with their kids. Though it has content and features that exclusive to paying members, it doesn't make the freeloaders feel left out. (Personally, I can live without the premium jobs.) The one thing that puts me off though are the loading times when entering mini-games and instances. I'm hoping they eventually release a full client, but keep the trickle download for when an update or patch is released.

"All of this is not to say that the man behind the WRX STI rally car renderings shown here has the answers, but we know one thing: When passing these images around Autoblog's (virtual) offices, we all couldn't help but say something to the effect of: "Oooooh, damn that's hot!" – a phrase we can't remember associating with Subaru, much as we love driving the vehicles themselves. In any case, these images come courtesy of one Lars Martensson (apparently better known on the interwebs by his handle 'GRID)', a man who spends his days crafting 3D renderings for videogames (Rallisport Challenge 2 for xBox, Battlefield 2 for PC). To us, this Swede has a handle on what the STI needs to be: Squat, mean, and purposeful. Okay, so perhaps the cut-down greenhouse wouldn't leave much room for taller folks (much less a helmet), but if one of these were parked in our driveway, well... we'd happily squat a little."

@NeHoMaR: I think they mean to say that it's ALSO for kids, but not EXCLUSIVELY for kids. Will post a proper review once I've played more of it (I've just gotten past the tutorial area).

Those straps are actually experimental alloy cables, and she's the test subject. In the background, you can hear the engineers quietly chanting, "please snap, please snap..."

Imagine if FriendFeed turned off "unsubscibes" because Ashton/CNN are in competition to gain 1 million followers. Will you lose respect for the founders?
I think it is very sneaky. Everyone has to cope with natural follower attrition ( out of a given number of followers a given percentage will unfolow). Why not the celebs.
- Roberto Bonini
This follower race brought home to me the fact that these numbers are really meaningless. If CNN wants to sell ads on Twitter, of course...
- Stan Scott
Yep. Although I lost respect for Ev and Biz a while ago, when they tried to put one over on Neal Conan with their usage of Corp PR speak on Talk of the Nation a bit back.

Because of the prizes for the 1 millionth, they wanted to stop people gaming the system. I'm not sure how else they could have done that.
- Glen Mistletoe
I think you are reading into it too much. It appears they turned it off during the time the race was coming to a close. The button is back on now. Makes sense as a way to keep people from doing rapid follow/unfollow to try and be the 1 mil follow winner.

Perhaps will come out in a rolling release. I've seen it. I am sure it will be back. I seriously think everyone needs to calm down. It doesn't merit a geekdom righteous indignation.

"I am 37 years old, I come from Belgium but I live in Exeter, Devon, in the UK. In the last 20 years I have drawn more than 7,000 logos, mostly for black- and death-metal bands from all over the world, including Emperor, Moonspell, Nachtmystium, and Enthroned."

I've seen this guy's work before. Very nice niche to be designing for.

"The Bacon and Cheese Stuffed Pizza Burger consists of the following: two sausage and pepperoni pizzas (serving as the bun), a 5-pound hamburger patty, two pounds of bacon, and two pounds cheese (plus an onion and two bulbs of garlic). And I think we can all agree: it could use a can of pork brains. Seriously though, I was thinking of making a pizza tonight anyways...."
