Some fascinating discussion going on there. Thanks for sharing
- Lisa
Your welcome, Buff, Lisa. I was wondering how interested others would be. I think that the content is ok, but really the main reason I did it was to help the 30DC community spirit.
- Tim Brennan
You and Maria have done a nice job there Tim - thank you.
- Isha (Marysia)
We were there nearly 3 and a half hours. Then Enzo & I stopped off at Liverpool Street Station and gassed further for another hour or so. A very enjoyable meet-up and I look forward to many more.
- Isha (Marysia)
Here's some more info about this video - "5 of us had a meetup at the good old British Museum in London's West End. We chatted for 3 hours about all sorts related to the Thirty Day Challenge. The experience interesting and encouraging. Towards the end of the meetup, we decided to stage a bit of chat for the camera. I shot about 17 minutes which I've spit into 2 parts. As you can see the...

Despite the video camera being very close to the action, the audio it picked up was not good at all. It picked up loads of background hubbub which drowned out the conversation. The iRiver audio quality was twice as good. "
- Tim Brennan
In case anyone's wondering where the 5th person is, Maria's holding the camera & a great job she's done too.
- Isha (Marysia)
Nice video Tim. Looking forward to the next meet up.
- Enzo Vullo
I never knew there was a meet up in London. Would like to join you for the next one. Where do you post the info? I don't check FF much but will keep an eye out now.
- MayC
Hey gang made me 1st dollar on the zillionDC oops I mean the 30DC ha. Amazon just informed me that I made $3.57 waahooooo Think I sold a health care product. First it breaks the ice and 2nd every millionaire always starts with his first dollar.
This post was emailed to me which has never happened before. Anybody know anything about that (why it was emailed to me)(has ff ever emailed you anything before)
- Russ
Greg to answer your question I think the post says it all (zillion...) but with a straight face let me say that I do believe it can be done in 30 days in fact even less (depending on I don't know what)(how much you impliment the stuff I guess)
- Russ
Russ when I got my 1st $s I too called it the zillion DC - I think there are quite a few of us around :D
- Isha (Marysia)
Ahh- I remember it well...already looking to this years! Looks like it involves twitter? Do hope so, I love anything minimalist & simple! Using twitter loads!Thats y I dont get to FF so much now...

Discovered a quick way to gain high-ranking Squidoo backlinks. Look for pages with Link Voting Plexos that let you add your website in!! =) Ummm... you can do this by site:squidoo.com "add to this list" yourkeyword
Lol! I just took all the voting plexos off my lenses because I was getting spam links. Great tip though!
- Frann Leach
Thanks for the Very cool tip Art. On top of everything else, these turn out to be do-follow links :-)
- Ritesh Lal
You're welcome. Yes! Squidoo is very generous =)
- Art Y.
This is a fantastic Squidoo tip. Thanks!
- Roger Carr
I don't get it. All the Voting Plexos I find are Amazon lists.
- Michael Netsch
I'm giving it away, but try site:squidoo.com "add this to your list" yourkeyword -amazon ... it works wonders :)
- Jorge Blanco
You might also want to try site:squidoo.com "add this to your list" yourkeyword -amazon -youtube . But I think sometimes you miss lenses with both link plexos and amazon plexos on the same page...

This letter has been tested by ALL of the big names in the internet marketing sphere and has been proven to be 100% successful in convincing our clients we are the BEST people for them.

from Bookmarklet
I just downloaded mine. Short and fun report. But they only give out limited copies. ASAP.
- Buff Toast
hmm I really downloaded a copy and saw what it had
- TrafficBug
Oh my God, this is an absolute killer. Allison, I just put up this sales letter on my site yesterday, and my conversions are up to 68%. Thanks for posting it here. Guys, guys, I urge you take advantage of this and download it before they pull it down!
- Ritesh Lal
My conversions are going up too. Just hit my first $5000 day using this technique. Awesome work, Ladies!!
- Barry Unruh
Thanks to everyone that enjoyed this and played along :) I also hope it gave you some ideas about how you can market WITHOUT seeming like you are screaming in people's faces. This was picked up by a site that lists Internet April Fools Day tricks and sent a ton of traffic across, sure it's not directed traffic, but if we were pushing a product or adsense etc from the site it was an opportunity for income
- Allison
"When setting up a WordPress blog that allows for multiple authors, it seems many people think all that is involved is to setup additional author profiles and/or start accepting guest posts. Unfortunately, it really isn’t that simple if you want to create a high quality WordPress blog"
- Colossal Marketing™
"The idea behind this is simply to have a group of bloggers setting aside a month of their time to work at improving their blogs. While we all want to have better blogs sometimes it becomes one of those things that we’re going to do…. one day."
- Sam Katakouzinos
I truly believe that this 31 day project will assist us 30DC and 30DC+ participants in succeeding online.
- Sam Katakouzinos
Yesterday I earned $160!!, which to some is not that big, but to me its huge!;), it just goes to show that if you keep trying, keep learning, then it can happen just like it did for me!, so a big huge thanks to all at 30DC!!.
I am guessing you have put in a lot of effort to get that far.... I would imagine hundreds of posts, and tens of pages, and articles. Not easy, but very worth it! Well done
- Tim Brennan
Nice work Elliot! Make sure you frame that first $100 note and put it up in your "office". Will inspire you all the way to your first million :-)
- Ritesh Lal
Awesome job, I'm on Day 30 and (sadly) sitting at a big zero. But, I'm not deterred, only more motivated to try harder! =)
- David Rogers
Woo hoo! I've just completed the 30 Day Challenge. And in 31 days at that... :) I haven't earned my first dollar online... But I've earned 40 cents from Squidoo... Which I don't really know where it came from... But I guess it's a start. Cheers! I'm taking the weekend off. See y'all!
Thank you Ed, Dan, Guru Bob, Caro, and everyone at here at the TDC! I couldn't have done it without you! The journey for awesomeness never ends... This is just the beginning! $10,000 a month or bust! ^_^V Now off for a long awaited break...
- Art Y.
Why spend effort creating backlinks on web 2.0 sites like squidoo, hubpages etc. when they all have nofollow links? Why does 30DC recommend this? I understand that nofollow links are ignored by Google algorithms when deciding your ranking on the search results page. Thanks!
Three things. People follow links and it will be people, not google, that will be buying your stuff. Nofollow links are a Google thing, other search engines treat them as normal links, and getting as much traffic from as many places is a smart move. Lastly Google still indexes those links, it just doesn't pass on the authority juice.
- Allison
Makes sense. Thanks Allison for clearing that up!
- Ritesh Lal
A lot of web 2 properties are as you say nofollow, but i've just created myu first quidoo lens and whne i view the sourse code of my page my links do not have nofollow added to them, thy are just plain html links the way i inputed them. Also there have been a number of test done on low competition where only nofollow links have made a site rank for the phase in question, so google does take them into account when ranking a page, probably just not as much. from twhirl
Thank you everyone for bringing this issue up and explaining it. I haven't done the Squidoo and Hubpage thing yet. I was thinking of skipping it, but now that I understand how the links work I will put the time in for both Squidoo and Hubpage.
- Edward Kimble
wow just noticed how many typos i had in my post, sorry guys i'm typing into twhirl and it's very difficult to review and correct. Just did My first hub pages page, the links in this case are definetly nofollow, it shows clearly in the sourse code, but still google will still take them into account as i said before, at the end of the day we just need to focus on getting lots of links, nofollow and PR are overrated. Jayen
- Jayen
from twhirl
No offence to the writer of that article but iIMHO it's a pretty rubish article, you'd do much better by going by the info already provided by members here. Jayen
- Jayen
from twhirl
I'd agree but this is where i first heard about it..lol
- TrafficBug
Thanks for the link TrafficBug. Nice writeup there on nofollow links
- Ritesh Lal
Both Squidoo and HubPages ARE dofollow, IF you follow their guidelines. You simply have to write some quality content that isn't filed with tons of links.
- thefluffanutta
Ah the power of purple! Such a thrill for all of us to share your delight and success since you have always been generous with advice and support in this room. Goodonyamate (not the Latin version!)
- Kim Baillie
Thankyou Kim! I retire to my bed a happy bunny. The Latin version: Goodonyamate goodonyamate goodonyamatam goodonyamati goodonyamatai goodonyamato. No?
- Isha (Marysia)
Thanks also to Dan Raine and Guru Bob and all the 30dc moderators and the whole 30dc team; and thanks also to the whole Noble Samurai team. Big kiss. 'nite
- Isha (Marysia)
Congratulations Marysia! You'll earn 10000x more this New Year! :)
- Art Y.
I received this from Ed today "It's already out for immediate edge members 30dc plus members will get it in a couple if weeks". So I guess we need to be patient....I hate being patient.
- Michael Wilson
It still feels too long. But I guess Ed Dale has his reason.
- Buff Toast
My Tribute to the hard working crew at 30DC! Thank you Dan, Ed, Bob and the whole team that has helped change my look on internet marketing! I owe you! (Get the full size wallpaper for free by following this link) - http://www.Traffic-Bug.com
Thank you again Ed, Dan, Bob and entire crew over there at the 30 Day Challenge...I can't thank you enough. I hope this makes you laugh a bit so I can give back to you in my own way.
- Michael Roberts
Hope everyone noticed the many subtle hints in the wallpaper. We even modeled the guitar after the one Ed Dale auctioned off....and Frank Kerns Helmet cracks me up! If you have ever seen one of his seminars you will understand why he is wearing it.
- TrafficBug
Who design the wallpaper? Very creative.
- Buff Toast
Thank you very much Buff! :) I designed it....It took me about 12 days to complete. Had to pay a lot of attention to detail...With Ed Dales iPhone utility belt and guitar to Guru Bobs "philosophy shirt." I just hope all the 30dc people enjoy it. This has been a great community and I have learned so much from everyone and the 30dc staff!
- Michael Roberts
Michael, you create the product Traffic Bug, design and did the artwork, and the marketing. That's a lot of work and know-how, requiring many different set of skills. Along the way, 30DC training was significant. Would you like to share a little about your IM journey and the training programs that you find has helped you become a all-round internet marketer?
- Buff Toast
Thanks Buff Toast for the interest! :) I will post a little snipit on another thread...And I will also be releasing about a 50 page ebook on the internet's best tools and internet marketing tactics that I find to work the best... I will be sure to post the link in this room so you can get a copy for free.
- Michael Roberts
The wallpaper looks great Michael - I've downloaded it and keep on noticing extra little details. If the attention to detail in Traffic Bug is as good then we are in for a real IM treat. Good work
- David
hey it's great, thanks Michael glad it's going so well :))
- Tash
Thank you everyone for all your great feed back and emails! Over 70 people downloaded that wallpaper! I almost fell of my chair! Thanks again 30DC community and crew!
- Michael Roberts
I finally did it!, took all the advice from 30DC/30DC+ and Immediate Edge and came up with my own product!, at last. This is a very proud day for me!. A big huge thanks to Ed,Dan,Bob and all the others 4 ur help, this stuff works!!. take a look, let me know what you think . - http://www.thetwittertechnique.com/
Elliot my friend! It is so awesome to see your first product! We went through the 30DC together and I haven't talked to you much lately. I guess we have both been very busy! :) Nice looking squeeze page! Let's catch up!
- Michael Roberts
Absolutely!, Ive spent so much time on this I forgot to eat and shave, I've lost 100lbs, and the other day my wife had me arrested by animal control, they got reports of a yeti in her home!. Its great to see your Traffic Bug coming out!, you must be very proud too!:).
- Elliot Webb
Submitted a PRWeb press release to give it a try, ill let you know how that goes too;))
- Elliot Webb
Many congratulations Elliot! That is a nice sales page & a great-sounding product.
- Isha (Marysia)
Your product looks very awesome Elliot. :) Congrats! Would you mind sharing a bit about the process? Do you basically just make a product, set up a sales page and start marketing it right away? Or do you have need to have a main twitter website which you build up first, and then send visitors to your sales page?
- Art Y.
Hi Art, are we talking about the process I took to make this product, or are we talking about the process inside The Twitter Technique?. let me know Art and ill get right back to u:)
- Elliot Webb
I want to launch a product too, but I'm not sure if it's ok to start up with a sales pages straight away, or whether I need to build a website with traffic first, and then put up a sales page for them to go to... If I can just go straight into product creation and sales, that would be so convenient :)
- Art Y.
Oh. I mean the process before you make the product. Like, in the TDC we learn to build up a niche site first, then put up affiliate links, and gradually get a lot of traffic first, then move on to product creation. But I was wondering if you could go into a niche, and immediately start with product creation (if you know what the ppl want already), and then put up a sales page right away without making a separate niche site
- Art Y.
Sure Art, you can do it both ways, obviously if you have an established site traffic will be easier to come by, but even if you have just started you can put up a sales page and use PPC to drive traffic to it. Remember what Ed says in the 30DC, PPC is one of the quickest and most targeted ways to get traffic early, sure you have to pay for it, but if you do good keyword research you can find long tail keywords to add to your PPC Ad, that way you only pay around 10-25c a click.
- Elliot Webb
I say if the keywords are right, and you know what your customers want, just go for it Art!!, if u need any PPC help let me know ok:)
- Elliot Webb
Oic. Ok. Thanks Elliot! I've been wanting to make a product for so long, but my niche site failed miserably because the competition was too tough, so I couldn't use it as a pivot... I'll go directly to the sales page then :)
- Art Y.
The only thing about a high competition niche is, if you do use PPC in that same niche your cost per click (CPC) is gonna be huge too, if you have Market Samurai Art check out the estimated adwords price in that first, this will just give you an idea of how much per click you will be paying.
- Elliot Webb
Ok. It's not that the competition is high... it's quite low actually... but the thing is, the ppl at the top are extremely strong... and the keyword I'm targeting is strange... I won't rank for the long-tail keyword, but i'm ranking so easily for a short tailed one
- Art Y.
Congratulations Elliot! We are proud of you too!
- Buff Toast
Looks pretty good. I'm not buying, because of two facts. 1. On the video I can see that there's 200 followers, but you are following more people than that, which makes it look like the usual follow everybody and hope they follow back (I assume that you go into detail on how to find the right people to follow / target - not really the point). 2. There's no authority... I don't know you from a bar of soap, yet, there's no money back guarantee, so there's too much risk. Not meant to criticize, just my view.
- Riaan
good lookin' sales page... let us know how it goes!
- Jeremy Weiss
That a completely fair comment Riaan thanks for posting it, my argument to it is would you not want to follow potential customers back?, not only is it great feedback from your market, but you also get to see what they are talking about, maybe even possible product ideas to market to the in the future. And to be honest id rather be a shower cream than a bar of soap if you dont mind;). Good point about the guarantee, ill be looking into that;). Thanks Riaan
- Elliot Webb
Fine, You can be a shower cream :) I'm with Ed Dale on this. If I follow everybody, it gets too noisy and I can't meaningfully interact with everybody. Thinking of creating niche specific accounts where I follow more people, but difficult to manage multiple accounts... Maybe use twirl for all niche accounts and tweetdeck only for main, dunno... Just not crazy about idea of following people to get them to follow back, That doesn't necessarily mean I'm right though. Congrats on the sale btw :)
- Riaan
Congratulations Elliot on the sale! Very big day for you! *sniff sniff* Our little guy is all grown up now!
- Michael Roberts
Brilliant work Elliot, so glad you are getting there, well done, you have taken a big step, we new you could :) congrats on the sale, you will have many more :))
- Tash
Ya its a great feeling!, thanks to you all for your support over the last few weeks, hopefully by doing this I can give something back to you 30DC members by showing you how I did it all;). I made sale #2 about 10 mins ago!;))
- Elliot Webb
This is the 2nd time I've watched this video. This improved version with subtitles really make me laugh. What a funny cat. How do I put in subtitles for youtube videos?
- Buff Toast
LOLOL!! That is too funny!! Thanks!......Buff, for text/subtitles etc - after you've uploaded to YouTube you will see an button called "Annotations" on the "My Videos" page. I find it to be a bit less than user friendly but it works. I'd practice on a short clip first - I lost a 10 min video trying to learn how to use it!

Momentous day for me... 6 months after quitting my job having done 30DC in real time, not only have I won my first deals this week, but I am currently featured on killerstartups... I'd be really grateful if you could hit the plus button here http://www.killerstartups.com/Video-M... I dedicate any award to Ed ;-)
Download "Getting Things Done" PDF - What a great recommendation from Ed! This book is wonderful and after just 2 days I already feel like I'm starting to accelerate towards my goals. - http://www.transhumanism-russia.ru/documen...
Productivity seems to be the name of the game at the moment... I'm therefore hoping I'm on the money with my 30DC inspired venture. There's a bunch of free videos on productivity for one and all... (would love comments now it's open for business) http://the845club.com

Today is a day of celebration. I made, not my first dollar online, but my first dollar through sales with the 30DC methodology. This (whooping) 30 bucks commission came just when faith and energy were starting to falter. As always, I tip my virtual hat for Ed and the 30DC team. Thank you all!
Just got my first sale and the comission was around $21 - wow. The product I'm promoting is just $15, so I checked it and the item was something completly different. It seems the buyer went on browsing until he found something else and bought it.
funny thing is if they were paying per click through like adsense whoot, could have went out for lunch 300 clicks to amazon say at .50 cents would equal $15.00 but affil. commission 8.50 ok its a value meal deal at jack's
- JuneM
There is a wealth of information and helpful suggestions in this room. I would like to propose we start using a Hash(#) tagging in titles now that you can also edit titles. The reason is to make the room more searchable for all the great stuff here. Take a look at the APPS room http://friendfeed.com/rooms... at how they are doing it. I would like to keep it to 4or 5 tags only. What do you think? Tag suggestions?
- Ron"micronet"Harwood
@Buff I think that those Tags would be "spot on". I would shorten the first one though to be just #research. It just keeps adding one to a title short and sweet, But the room seems pretty slow or just no interest in this so far. We'll have to give it awhile and see :) It would just make doing a search for something sooo much easier.☼ So What do you say peeps? Yes? No? To much work, It sucks?
- Ron"micronet"Harwood
@Ron, I am sure peeps will want tis. They could be thinking of tags ... or else, could it be they don't understand the Hash# concept? And I agree to keeping tags short.
- Buff Toast
@Ron, how about tagging a thread of yours in this room as a demo?
- Buff Toast
The way it works is pretty basic. Say you want to search this room for SEO related threads. You would put #seo in the search bar and all the titles that anyone tagged with #seo would be returned in the results. The reason this is helpful is because ppl use different terms to refer to the same subject which can make it harder to find what you may be looking for. Thus the reason for Hash tags #
- Ron"micronet"Harwood
Excellent love it anyone new (or restarting) could then easily find all the info they require on a certain topic by using the # tag, before they become overwhelmed or tempted to give up - really great question thanks Ron.
- Groobers
It would defiantly facilitate searching. Being this room is centered around the 30DC and to keep it relevant to marketing, the tags @Buff Toast suggested seem appropriate e.g. #research, #traffic, #conversion, #product#seo#web. I would suggest to keep it to 6 or 7 tags so it doesn't become to confusing. I am open for more suggestions though.
- Ron"micronet"Harwood
I also like the cool way he highlights & recaps the previous posts in the series (the yellow para). In fact I guess the earlier posts are the more interesting ones, since this post actually just summarizes what we're taught in-depth in the 30dc.
- Isha (Marysia)
Awesome Wordpress tutorial videos and a great video collection of the WorldCamp Toronto 2008... ♦♦This post has an example of using a #Hash tag in the title♦♦ See my other post here about what I'm talking about http://friendfeed.com/e...
- Ron"micronet"Harwood
Now this is just an idea and I have not thought out any details yet, but just in case anyone is interested I have an offer to make. Do you find you just don’t have enough time to do all the things required for your blogs? Or do you want a photo to be more than just a plain photo in your store? I know there are a lot of free tools out there that...
I know there are a lot of free tools out there that can do the job for you, but do you have the time to mess around with photos to get just the look you want. I have photoshop software, am I good at it not brilliant but I would like more practice. So to the offer I am thinking I could maybe set up a friend feed room and if anyone would like me to have a go at creating a logo for them or jazzing up a photo for their store, I could have a go. I am not saying that I could create anything better than you but this will be a free service and you don’t have to use what I create but for me it would give me a chance to practice in a market that I am interested in. Anyway it was just an idea.
- Groobers
Want something to practise on? I need an avatar/favicon for PopularDelusions.net. You can see the image I was using on my old HTML practice site on the home page. I was thinking of just using the P and the D, maybe nested, in a 100x100 image, in a similar old-fashioned "newspaper headline" font. Wanna play? Feel free to say, "bugger off!" 8-))
- LJF Wolffe
Thank You LJF I would love to play around with it, I will start on it tomorrow, as the girls are demanding my attention now, thank you so much for giving me the chance.
- Groobers
Cool! Let me know when you're done -- and wherever I use it, you'll get the credit! 8-)
- LJF Wolffe
Hey Groobers - excellent idea - I am in the process of overhauling my Scentsible Wellness site and I'd love to put a logo together but haven't done anything yet. As you know I love your creativity from what I've seen and if you want to help me with this I'd love it! We can discuss further at your convenience.
- Elizabeth
I will be in touch Elizabeth thanks for the support, I am off to create now or at least try.
- Groobers
Sounds good. Let me know when you create a room would be very interested for logo. let me know what you need.
- eMarketing Hubs - nat014
LJF I have had a go at your Avatar but was unsure how to show you the end result, as I have not had chance to set up anything for these attempts yet - so as you can see for now Groobers has become a Popular Delusion. Hope you like it just let me know if you want it, or you need me to try again. Cheers
- Groobers
Tee hee hee! Nice display option. I'm worried that it won't show well as a smaller image (favicon). I was kinda thinking the D nested under/beside the P. I love the reflections, tho . . . could I get you to take one more try?
- LJF Wolffe
Thanks Nathalie - will do but now I'm off for some lunch my stomach is making lots of very strange sounds.
- Groobers
Sure thing LJF to be quite honest I did not have a clue what a favicon was, I thought it was a fancy name for avatar - what a duh head!
- Groobers
Thanks Tim - now back to my belly - feed me .
- Groobers
LJF - Avatar mark 2 - I promise Monday to get a room, and stop clogging up this feed. Cheers and have a fab and groovy week-end everyone.
- Groobers
Ohhh, Goobers, that's GORGEOUS!!! I love it, I want it! We need to figure out how to transfer it -- maybe email? Lemme know! (You'll also need to know where I should link to when I brag about this -- and I will!)
- LJF Wolffe
I am so glad you like it my friend I was a little nervous I can tell you - email is fine with me - what is the best way for me to get your email address?
- Groobers
I'm at lfwolffe over on gmail (dot com).
- LJF Wolffe
It should be on its way, time to switch off the PC, listen to some tunes or maybe even a podcast or two, then time for a well earned drinkypoo.
- Groobers
Can you put links to the avatars into the new room Groobers (providing the peeps they are for agree of course)?
- Isha (Marysia)
Heck, when the room is started, I'll put this one in myself, just ot brag. And when the FriendFeed room and the FaceBook pages for Popular Delusions are created, this'll be the avatar I use. All will contain credit links -- because the only payment I can give right now is word of mouth, and this'll speak for itself. 8-)
- LJF Wolffe
Great job, Groobers! Now I want one too :-))
- Jen
Presto Chango - I'm back - it was nice to be a PD for a while - thanks LJF that was fun.
- Groobers
Oh, good! You gave me a startle this morning -- I thought your post might have come from my new FF room! Very glad to have you back to being you . . . 8-))
- LJF Wolffe
LJF I can not believe you did a blog post about me, you are truly a real friend, Thank You. (Would it be ok for me to join your room, it looks interesting (or would that be a little weird?)
- Groobers
Would it be OK? Of course! It's a public room, after all, and the more the merrier! I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of stuff ends up in there; I'm planning on tagging any resources I use to write posts. Come on in! 8-))
- LJF Wolffe
I'm packing up my troubles in my old kit bag and I will be over in a min thanks LJF
