"If you're a football fan who has been pining for NFL Sunday Ticket but can't because you're unable or unwilling to switch to DirecTV, you might be in luck -- if you're able to part with $350. The satellite provider confirms to Consumerist that it will be making an online-only version of Sunday Ticket available to anyone with an internet connection."

At $350? So, pay more for the service for a lower quality product? Uh, wha?
- Kevin Pedraja
It's a good deal if you want NFL Sunday Ticket but don't want to pay for satellite service every month. I prefer cable (more reliable in bad weather, discount when combined with internet access that's faster than what the satellite company can provide) to satellite so it works for me.

We've made the style more consistent with other Google apps, put information that’s most commonly used at the top of the screen, simplified the layout, and added some functionality."

"This is a reactionary move to battle the rallying of Mozilla, Google and Opera behind the WebM video standard. As it stands, both Firefox 4 and Opera 10.6 only support WebM for HTML5 video -- with this licensing change, MPEG LA is obviously angling for H.264 support to find a place in both Firefox and Opera before their next stable release."

"Google is so 2000 and late, trying to get into a business that Facebook lost interest in a couple years ago. Since Google didn’t have the social DNA, it’s taken the strategy used by awkward rich guys everywhere by trying to buy some hotness: Slide and Jambool. If that wasn’t enough, they made expensive investments in Zynga and ngmoco."

"If we have one bad thing to say about Denon in general and the AVR-4311CI specifically it's that they keep exceeding our expectations. When we reviewed the AVR-4310CI we thought it had more than it's price point suggested. Now, the AVR-4311CI has addressed most of our minor gripes with it's predecessor, added features we didn't even know existed, and did it all without changing the retail price. If this isn't a home run of a product, we don't know what is."

It's not just for multi-zone setups...they added it with the 9.2 spec to discreetly control two sets of subs in a room for left and right. Some people think that it's necessary and others do not. I'm in the "not necessary" camp, but it's nice to have if it's there, I suppose.

I'd almost be interested in using this as a preamp.

2 subs in one room is a nice way to even out the bass at all listening points if the room acoustics aren't the best. It's probably also cheaper than altering the room itself.

"A bunch of you have already spoken up about the battle between Blu-ray and movie streaming services. Some of us are ready to chuck out or Blu-ray discs in favor of hassle-free, ad-free streaming. But what about video games? Are they ready to ditch the disc for a digital download future? Sony’s Kaz Hirai says no--at least not any time soon."

"The original question was whether it was good for somebody to be soaking up the wireless bandwidth in your area downloading a movie, and whether networks needed to throttle such users. We scream out that they should, but our thinking is short-term. It is the congestion caused by these heavy users, after all, that drives the innovation and network expansion. If we can "solve" our problem with network management rather than putting in more bandwidth, then we don't create as much incentive to make the bandwidth technology cheap. If the only way we can solve the problem is to boost the network capacity to match the wired one, that's how we will solve it."
