Wordpress Direct will not install for me, keeps giving me the same error. Anyone have any problems with it? index is up when I type in my url to a browser but WPD says I need to go to cpanel and create the account. what accout? I've already created my add-on domain. This is the 4th day trying to install it.

I had big problems with Wordpress Direct last year. So much so that I used just Wordpress and that works much better for me. The idea of WPD is not very good as it is not going to be liked by Google unless you post a lot of unique content, so Wordpress won for me.

I had intended just using Wordpress this year as the site I did last year with WPD is ugly!! Apart from that it costs money! I have just had the most frustrating day ever!!! I have 5 domains, 4 with 1&1 and 1 with hostgator. Decided to move them all to hostgator when I was told that it would not cost me anything over their online chat. Then as I contacted their online chat again I was told that it would cost me.
So I contacted their telephone support in the USA and was told that it would not cost me and I should send and email and they would do it for me as I was transferring 4 of them. Then a reply came to the email saying it would cost me!!!!!! For heavens sake can they not get their stories straight! I have wasted a whole day on this and got absolutely nowhere!!! Very frustrating.

Hi Sue, I have bought domain names from Namecheap and then just pointed them to Hostgator's servers and this costs nothing. I think that if you have already got a website with content then the charge is to transfer them over but if it is just a new domain name then you can just point it to Hostgator for free. Can you let me know how much they charge for each website as am thinking of changing over from 1&1 to hostgator in a few months.

Hi Etena, I do have one of them already pointing at hostgator, I just wanted a nice tidy solution with everything in one place and thought the best time to do it was now before I started setting up one of the sites. Hi everybody. I'm back from holiday and desperately catching up with other work so it's been a bit chaotic. Just about to get started on the catch up with the 30DC - I'm way behind. I was around for the meeting last night but there only seemed to be Hugh Mac there. How is everybody doing? Who is still active?
I'm still here :) At the moment their starting adwords, and I don't have the traffic or the money to start it, so I'm a bit behind too.

Hi Sean, they did the adwords bit last year too and I just ignored it, never did and never have done any and still managed to rank no. 1, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I am way behind. Stuck on Day 7 as I have stopped to create a website in wordpress which I am learning at the same time, before I learn how to push it up the rankings with 30dc. Hope to start catching up again by the end of the week if I can. Sorry Sue forgot about the time yesterday only realised at 9.30pm last night that it was Tuesday.

MEETING: Thanks to everybody who joined in the meeting last night. I think it helped in sorting out some issues of using Skype - I had problems adding people into a conference call and apparently that was because I had an old version of Skype - I have now installed the latest version and would recommend that other do the same if required.
I think the general consensus is to have a regular meeting time that you can attend for help and encouragement, but if you can't make that time then contact individuals as required (putting up your strengths on the contact sheets will help people to know who may be able to help them in their hour of need). So unless anybody has any objection we will stick to Tuesdays at 7pm - if this is an impossible time for you then let me know and we'll see if we can find another more suitable time.

Anyone here that hasn't used Wordpress Direct? Couldn't stick the themes or the whole layout of it... so I made a Wordpress blog and used all the same plugins as WPD. And I'm not indexed yet :(
I Must admit i prefer to use wordpress blog and not wordpress direct

Do you know if it ranks just as well and just as quickly if you use wordpress with all the SEO plugins that WPD uses? Cant think of any other factors that makes WPD better :S

it should rank. try using jeff johnsons traffc plugin for wp. it optimizes wp pretty well

You can use WPD and your own theme. just load it the same way via FTP.

Still on day two and I'm not giving up!!!! Has anybody had any problems retrieving MS results when using the "Add Permutations" option or when retrieving SEOC data? I have a feeling my samurai's sword is getting a little blunt now..........! I just end up with blank field where data should be and a message that says "Difficulty retrieving 24...

I've just seen that I've missed a meeting.....would have loved to have got involved with it as some reassurance and support would have been greatfully received. I still haven't managed to identify a microniche for my business so in theory I haven't got beyond day 2. I'm up to date with the videos, so I understand what I have to do, but I can't...

I missed it too. I am stuck on day 5. I'm learning how to use wordpress. I had issues with Wordpress Direct. This is going to be a slower route and I will have to catch up as soon as I have managed to install all the plugins etc so I can't move on further yet. On the plus side I have found a far prettier theme for my niche. I am sure that many others take longer than the initial 30 days but as long as we have access to the Training and the group support on friend feed I suppose it will be fine.

This is a long shot but is there any way we can set up another google group so the rest of us can join it? When I try to log on to the group it just says membership is pending and needs to be approved by the group owner which is steve but no one has heard from him. Its cool if you cant I just feel like I am missing out on a lot. Maybe thats not t

Has anyone had problems with Wordpress Direct. I have already got an account with hostgator and didn't want them to have my main ftp account details so I created an addon and and a separate ftp account as per a kind Hostgator technicians instructions. The ftp has an @ sign in it and wordpress direct will not let me proceed to install the theme.
I have a lot of problems with Wordpress Direct :) I've just installed Wordpress separately and installed all of the plugins that WPD uses.

Where did you get the plugins that WPD uses or is that further in the challenge? I am stuck at the point of trying to install WPD so am being left behind slightly. Also I am not sure how to install Wordpress to Hostgator please can you help?

It took me about an hour getting the plugins and setting them up, so not too bad... so far the only problem is that you cant publish with market samurai's ad thing, so you have to do it yourself :S

So is anybody working as a group yet?? We started with about thirty and seem to be down to a dozen, Im not sure what has happened to steve, hopefully he is of but it would be nice to work with some people as a team and forge lasting relationships
i'm not sure how things are working...I know the facebook teams are not really how I thought they would be...in that the teams are individual to each person....I feel things are a bit fragmented there. I know that there is some discussion in the google group about general stuff which I have found useful to read. not sure if anyone is working together on any projects?
