I bought one of these cases before we left for our Christmas travels. While it adds some size to the phone, making it impractical for me for every day use, I love having it in a pinch, especially while traveling. - Robert Occhialini
Beta beat: Pukka 1.7 Submitted by Justin on August 4, 2008 * Pukka I've had some enhancements to Pukka in the works for some time, but thanks to the launch of Delicious 2.0, I've been spurred into action to selectively put some of them into a release, as well as address some issues with the new platform. Chief among the latter is an update to allow post descriptions up to 1000 characters, or rather, to only warn when they are over 1000, not the previous 255, characters. I'm releasing a beta of Pukka 1.7 that also includes the following: * The latest ten bookmarks across accounts is now shown in the dock and menu bar menus, if they are enabled. * Performance has been tuned in the menu bar item, which also translates to a faster launch time if you are using the item. * A backup of each of your accounts' bookmarks, as retrieved from the server, is made from time to time. See Pukka -> View Backup Folder... * The posting sound effect, if enabled, is now played proper - Robert Occhialini
"We have eaten at No Mas! four times now, and we have been much happier with it than the other reviews here would lead you to believe. Castleberry Hill is definitely an up and coming area. We…" - Robert Occhialini
"Solid bison and beef burgers, nice fresh cut potato fries. We both had bison burgers, and they were delicious, and properly cooked to order. Solid, but not extraordinary fries. They serve you a…" - Robert Occhialini
How do you like the cover? I was contemplating getting one but was on the fence. - Erica Baker
Erica: it seemed to be the one with the best reviews and with the most logical features and access to ports. Ask me again in a month. :) - Eric Rice
Robert: I like the form factor of the Sony better (which I have).. the UI is fine, but the hardware UI on the Kindle is crap. The best part, which is probably the most important, is the ubiquitous connection to a massive bookstore, with no PC required. Also, I love that it doesn't RING. (That's a snide comment for those that compare Kindles to Phones, heh) - Eric Rice
abby, the Boogie Nights scene is why I needed the song. we have a themed playlist at work every other week and this week's is "songs that you loved in movie scenes." i think boogie nights saved this song from an ignominious obscurity. when it came on in the scene, i was just like, "whhhaaaaaaaat??" and then i was like, "wwoooooowwwww." :) - edythe
How cool. And that's a really apt description of how that scene hits a viewer. (Is that why you had Jesse's Girl up earlier too?) - Abby Martin
Michael: I beg to differ, sir. Sammy rules, Dave blows! - Roger Benningfield
Sammy ruled solo, Dave sucked solo, Sammy sucked Van Halen, Dave rocked Van Halen. You would say the same if your class song was bloody Dreams... - Michael W. May
via twhirl
Michael: I will accept this as a compromise position. :D - Roger Benningfield
hehe, that was quicker than expected. Your graciousness shames me, sir. - Michael W. May
via twhirl
I don't think of Boogie Nights when I hear Sister Christian. I think of me leaning the tape recorder up against a speaker during American Top 40 and struggling to limit the amount of Casey Kasem that was invading my recording. - Roger Benningfield
After growing up on original Van Halen, the stuff with Sammy was so sugary popish and overplayed on the radio and by classmates, I think I became a Van Hagar diabetic - to be digested only in measured doses, during special occasions, monitored closely, with musical insulin close by. - Michael W. May
I will admit, I sometimes sing this in the shower. - Robert Occhialini
Yea, I am going to have to admit that I have some Night Ranger on the old iPod. - Shark At Large
SAL: It gets worse... I actually have several cuts from their 7 Wishes album on my iPod... AND I DON'T KNOW WHY. - Roger Benningfield
I wish I didn't have to go all the way over to twitter to see what things are in response to. FF should add an "in response to" link. - Robert Occhialini
"I find it hard to believe Circuit City is still in business. They've bought out Radioshack here in Canada who have always had ridiculous prices and annoying salespersons." - Shey
Never understood their business strategy seemingly of constantly closing stores and reopening ones next to Best Buys.... - Chris Reed
@Chris Not to mention laying off 3400 employees and hiring replacements at a cheaper wage: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17... . How low is that? - Shey
@Shey: agreed on the Radioshack comment...plus, they renamed them all "The Source, by Circuit City." Even though Radioshack sucked for those that understood the prices were ultra-inflated, it was a very recognizable brand name. - Trent Olson
I grew up liking Professor X and the Beast over all others, but probably because my childhood arch-nemesis loved Wolverine and Gambit, and I couldn't like anything he liked. - Mark Trapp
traditionally it's been iceman, but I always had a soft spot for the wolverine/kitty pride connection - in the movies replacing her with rogue is just eh. - felix
Kitty Pryde, especially after some recent story arcs. I've always dug Cannonball too. - James Ferguson
I like the Ultimate Kitty Pride over the 616. I thought it was a good move to have her date Peter Parker - RAPatton
@RAP. I agree about the Peter Parker dating. Did you read Astonishing X-Men? That just wrapped up and it solidified Kitty as a favorite X-Person. - James Ferguson
Yeah, I read Astonishing. It was good, but it took soooo long for the final issues. I wished I had read it in trade. I did love the cover back in the begining of Kitty and Peter Rasputin - RAPatton
Kitty is probably #1 for me, Emma Frost would be #2. And since I had a huge crush on Jean Grey when I was nine, she has to slot in at #3. (Never should have resurrected her, dammit.) If you'd asked me twenty years ago, Logan would have featured prominently on the list, but ugh... not any more. - Roger Benningfield
I've changed my wallpaper when the new NIN album came out, but I've seldom looked at it. It's all covered in windows (er, not Windows), all the time. - Zio Bonino
I alternate pictures of my 16 months old nephew and pics of Chris Paterson (btw, at the moment I have CP kicking a penalty on this computer)... ;) - MacGiorgia
Wallpaper images most often come courtesy of the genius of Trey Ratcliffe - Stuck in Customs. - Stephen Pierzchala
A few times a year. I find images on National Geographic or from movie websites. Right now I have Kung Fu Panda :) - Rachel Rubin
once a year, usually photos of my family - Erik
via twhirl
interesting q - i reckon I change it 3-4 times a year once probably in the summer and again in the winter - the other 2 are probably more adhoc - riaz
I don't use wallpaper - just set it to a pleasant color. I'm not sure how different OSes handle it - if they're smart they'd get it stored onto video memory but otherwise it's gonna take up my precious RAM. - Wil
I change mine almost every day. Most of the images come from flickr wallpaper groups or interfacelift/deviantart.. - Robert Occhialini
I change it every couple of months, using some image I like from my Flickr stream - Aaron B. Hockley
I don't change backgrounds often, probably once a year or more seldom. Most of the time they're covered in windows (though with transparent backgrounds... with other windows behind), so it doesn't really matter much. My current wallpaper is something my friend drew in Photoshop. =) - Daniel Bruce
maybe every 2 months or so. I use Images of the Day from Wikipedia typically for my images. - Tim Cooper
one time a month, with the stunning calendar wallpapers that you find on Smashing Magazine. - Federico Fasce
via twhirl
Depends on how often I get bored with my current. Anywhere from once a week to once a month. Often I use pictures I've taken, but currently I'm using one from Hamad's Vista Wallpaper Pack - Margaret Kerr

Interesting question. About twice a year maybe. Been a fan of http://mandolux.com/ Good to have a nice background for a little personality, but really, I spend more time staring at open windows than I do at the background or screensavers. - Mike D. Johnson
Weekly or monthly, sometimes they are art for a current project, or a band, game, or webcomic. the Looking for Group desktops are great. - Eric Dorsett
I change it every couple of months, either at home and at work, and most of them come from deviantart (petercui is one of my favorite wp designers) - João Almeida
Every 1-2 weeks, using NASA, science or sports images depending on my mood - Sally Church
I use Comic Book wallpaper (most often from DC Comics) but lately I've been enjoying the Wallpaper Project: http://kitsunenoir.com/blog/dw... - i switched tot he Ryan Cox image just this morning. - Jason Toney
Havent changed in 6 months. I usually just change when I find a better one. Oh and I use the same wallpaper
on all my pcs. - Roberto Bonini
From ffffound.com... VERY rarely I use a full screen wp. Instead, I center a small image and use the background color to fill up the rest. - Claudio Cicali
I'd quite like ff to pick up all my listens, would need to group them together like it does with tweets and flickr photos to stop it being too noisy. - Graeme Shaw
id like it to show what im listening to not showing if i love something lol - Mark Illingworth
Agreed, when I am listening I want that to be the feed I share. Because I am not always going to remember to click the heart, especially if I know I have clicked it before to something I loved. I would also like for it to group my recent scrobbles when I sync my ipod. Because I listen to my ipod at work and in my jeep more than I actually sit in front of my computer at home with the music on my itunes. Has anyone linked up their blip.fm feed yet? - Andrea Baker
You can add your recently played tracks feed as a blog. Check out the lastfmfeeds room for examples of how it displays. - Jason Toney
@Jason: agreed, the lastfmfeeds room is the best place for listing every track you listen to, way too much noise otherwise. If you just add the feed as a blog anyone hiding it will also hide all your other blog entries. - Andy Murdoch
Aren't they? I looked twice to make sure they were real. So ... imagine a hot air balloon tour of Holland when the tulips are in season. - Chris Baskind
They look like textiles. That's cool. - Abby Martin
Good link, Ken! We need to find more ... - Chris Baskind
Is this where they grow plasticine haha??? - Joe Dawson
I've always loved tulips. I would LOVE to fly over & see something like this. I'll have to check whether anything like this can be seen on Google Earth. - Kamilah Gill
Way Cool. I'd love to see them up close. Believe it or not they used to grow bulb flowers like that in Fremont California of all places. But the fields and greenhouses are now long gone, replaced by condos and high tech office buildings.... - Jeff P. Henderson
I remember how fascinated I was as a child when we drove through tulip farms in Holland. It was amazing. - ※Fu※
We've got some big tullip farms around Holland, Mich, not far from here, but like that is only a town mimicing a country, those farms do not compare to this - Michael W. May

There's a similar patch of bliss in Lompoc, California *just north of Santa Barbara. - Susan Beebe
My favorite. We put in 1K bulbs in our beds for a spring display. - Mrsth
A thousand bulbs? Wow. I hope you post pictures the next time they're in bloom. - Chris Baskind
It used to be that if you paused a video, Apple would like you finish watching it; that it's 24 hrs or 1 viewing, whichever is longer. I wonder if it still works. - Mark Trapp
24 hour rental policies are a joke. Best avoid purchasing content from companies with those kinds of restrictions. Netflix works much better for me and is more economical. - Thomas Hawk
I don't agree with 24 hour rental periods either as there always seems to be something that comes up to delay viewing!! - Joe Dawson
I've not rented one yet. Using Netflix. Slower paced movie watcher myself. - Todd Jordan
Agreed. VuDu just added an extension / second view option. Still not great but a step in the right direction. - Kevin C. Tofel
I bought into AppleTV, just like I bought into VOD. I don't plan what I want to watch in advance: I'm very much an impulse watcher. I tried Netflix for a while, but I always found by the time I got the movie, I didn't want to watch it anymore. I always watch movies in one sitting, so the limit doesn't bother me, and it's cheaper than VOD/video stores in my area. - Mark Trapp
I totally agree with you Chris. I have had to make the tough decision on re-renting things twice now. - Robert Occhialini
"I'm not going to give many five star reviews. Food Studio will be closing on July 19th, 2008. You need to get there for a meal before then to experience some pretty terrific cuisine. Ironically, we…" - Robert Occhialini
"I loved the old Fado. It was a staple of my mid-twenties nights out in Buckhead, before Buckhead changed and then was caved in on itself. The new Fado, is well, very similar to the old Fado, just…" - Robert Occhialini
