Georgia Tech Researcher David Dagon agreed that open recursive systems are on the rise, in part because of "the increase in home network appliances that allow multiple computers on the Internet." However, according to Dagon, a more important issue is the fact that many of these devices do not include patches for a widely publicized DNS flaw discovered by researcher Dan Kaminsky last year.

We have come to the conclusion that, in many cases, no sector—government, business or civil society—can solve these problems on its own. Each sector comes with its own discrete cast, skill set and sphere of influence. Many of today’s complex problems require us to find ways to blend these sector-specific advantages and join together into what we've dubbed "megacommunities" (a term most simply defined as a tri-sector, action-oriented “organization of organizations” focused on a shared issue).

one can for example easily create a graph that shows rainfall, the price of beans, the total amount of production of beans and the availability of bean seeds from the county of León and check if there is any interrelation, even though these data are maintained by completely different parts of the Ministry. The numeric data can easily be combined with textual data (by placing comments on the graphs), the write ups from the wiki component, and PDF documents (added in a library section). And given that the input process is so much smoother and that nothing has to be retyped, it leaves time for the agronomists of the Ministry to add analytical comments and double check data entries.
