Heavy pc and crt, ok, but the subwoofer too? You know how heavy those things are? This would work in space maybe.
- Josh Haley
And I wonder where it's getting powered from. Is there an extension cord behind him, or maybe he's got a generator attached to his feet?
- Costa Walcott
But which way would it point? Or should there be two, one aimed at his face, and one on the visor of his hat, to see what he can see?
- Ladybug Heather
It's a 'Trojan Horse'!! The hollowed out tower contains 8 Macbook Airs, 25 iPhones, a G1™[product placement by Google] and a handful of Newtons - just waiting to be deployed!
- Micah Wittman
There is a distinct lack of cup holder.
- Rochelle
True... where does the Mountain Dew go? Or coffee or Jolt Cola or whatever caffeinated substance he drinks?
- Ladybug Heather
Rochelle: thats what the CD Drive tray is for.
- Roberto Bonini

- Rob Reed

- Sarah Perez

- Mario Olckers
Tiny... little... eentsy... lumps of yum. There, my estrogen has officially shown itself.
- Carla Thompson
No way - they have FF onesies??? How do I get my hands on one of those?
- Jesse Stay

:) Well the first notes sound like the music of "Who left the dogs out"! I know @vijay may complain, but that's natural, he's a PHD in bwakarogy :-p
- directeur
my PhD in bwakarology is all 'cause of my best test subject who, actually, is now scheduled for experiments... * drags directeur into Lab for more study *
- vijay
There should be something like PETA just for me. Poor me.

"The most beautiful part of being a linux user is the choice you have, whatever issue it is. Like any other Linux distro, Ubuntu is infinitely customisable with any number of themes and applications. This include login window themes or gdm themes as well. Major source for themes in ubuntu include www.gnome-look.org and www.deviantart.com. There, you could obtain literally thousands of good quality themes."

I like having each service as an individual contact. Much easier. Can we see the same for Pownce?
- Chris Nixon
Well, IMified has taken bot to a next level.. I even created a customized option to check my google calendar appointments for today (a quick schedule for today) by interacting with bot! Not sure, if they have one for Pownce..

One year later. Just bumping this because it's the one year anniversary of the only item on FriendFeed to get more than 400 likes. (452 at the moment)
- Ken Sheppardson
They are on the left, not gone... and this is totally unfinished currently. take with a grain of salt!
- mjc
the idea behind left-side tabs is that we have a LOT more horizontal space...
- mjc
When Switching tab to tab , my hand always goes towards the top, not towards the left, I open thousands of new tabs over the course of a day, and the new tab button is conveniently located near the top vertically, if it were left, it would bother me.

"Paul Buchheit told me: “We’re trying to use social mechanisms to help organise information, Google is very focused on the technology, whenever a problem arises people at Google think ‘Well, how can I apply 10,000 computers to solve this.’” FriendFeed does not need Google’s horsepower when its users are acting as that social filter for results. It may need to copy Google’s ad technology to monetise them though."
- Thomas Hawk
it's nice and clean, the grey background should be lighter, not that dark, all the rest is fine for me. good work guys
- Dorian Tireli
I like new design. It better shows the original post, it is more readable. User icons instead of service icon also provide more information. Not sure about those colors and gray background - don't think they should be so vivid.
- Kirill Maximov
Where are groups? Gone? Sorry to hear your users can only comment on colors. Pretty shallow.
- Antonio Piccolboni
great, but real time as default on the home feed annoyed me into checking my email
- Amber, Random Time Lord
It isn't about featers. There are features enough. It's about look and feel. And that is worse in this beta.
- Peter
filters are great! abonnements should be separated (e.g. with a line) between the former rooms and the friends. And I would prefer knowing from which service the post comes since I don't read twitter feeds from people I follow on twitter.
- Stefan Leitner-Sidl
and the fly-over-window with the services one imports to FF should include the "unfollow" button as it was in the old version.
- Stefan Leitner-Sidl
I like the look and feel but miss the popular groups etc... there is no real way to track where the group "action" is that I have found and would hate to see a step back in the group area. Will there be something similar? Is there already and I can't find it?
- Allison
The biggest drawback of the new UI is that it facebookishly emphasizes *who* shared something. As I see it, FriendFeed is about *what* is being shared -- as opposed to other social networks, content is what usually sets the tone of discussion on FF, not sender. The angle is what makes a difference, and that angle is somehow changed in the new UI. New features are great.
- Ognjen Strpić
don't like. it's not friendfeed now, it's another thing
- Luca Di Ciaccio
cough, cough. The base is not in England, but Scotland, and I think you mean British armed forces not English. England is to Scotland what black is to white, or Jew is to Muslim. I'm actually giggling here, although a Scot I cant get worked up about mistakes like this. But I have many friends who would feel mortally offended about this. Therefore of course I am going to send them this link. Childish I know.

Record the sound from the online version of the video or extract the audio from a video that you've downloaded? For the latter I use MPEG Streamclip. http://www.squared5.com/
- Christopher Harley
Nice, I am going to try these this weekend. Thanks to everyone. Keep those ideas coming through.
- Amani
@ Christopher - I tried the MPEG Streamclip, but on videos that aren't youtube videos, how do I get a proper URL to work? it isn't working for me right now.
- Amani
If you're not afraid of the command line, mplayer and ffmpeg both work on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X
- Victor Ganata
I am a little scared of the command line. :)

If you just want to be able to play them as audio files and not video, there is a free audio player called Trout (windows only) that can play mp4 videos as audio only (possibly other video formats as well), that way you don't have to do anything to your video files to enjoy just the audio from them. http://www.donationcoder.com/Forums...

Wow, a testament to the explanatory power of visualization. They missed out covering the part when the insurance companies had their CDS's called in, should have included the role of Fannie/Freddie, etc.
- Ray Cromwell
I used it for a while but stopped. it just didn't have a feature I needed. But, I really lke the service and it works quite well.

Their customer service alone makes the service worth it. They're brilliant.
- Sameer Vasta
I was scared off by discussions in their forum about an inability to have prepaid billings (retainers). I haven't gone back in a while but I also was not sure if the look of the invoice could be modified. The way it used the web for quotes was awesome -- I may still go back to it.
- Wayne Schulz
I used it for freelance work and it was great. Support is Good, too.

Freshbooks is great. I really like the format of the invoices and the ability to send invoices to more than one person at a company (via email or snail mail). Highly recommended.
- Laurence Toney
ppl seem to be big fans and I know a devel there. The other service I commonly hear mentioned is Harvest -- @missrogue use?
- Lloyd Budd
I'm using it and works great. I like the recurrent invoice sending to te client, and automatically connects to my Paypal account to receive my payment.
