The ghosts must've escaped! Had to evac Haunted Mansion mid-ride... Funny to see on-stage used as a warehouse when all the lights are on.
Looks like you guys had fun. - Ben Wern

I have 5 Google wave "nominations" for the first 5 people to respond to this.
Wow - sent this on twitter and got about 20 responses in the first minute or so. Zero on Friendfeed. - Ben Wern

Thought we'd be heading to China near Thanksgiving. Going first week in October. Only off by 2 months.. Panic!

Has anyone had experience with Evernote? Trying to get organized ...
Yes; used evernote and onenote extensively. - Ben Wern
Right now, I am mostly using Onenote due to tie-ins to sharepoint, etc at work. Like Evernote a lot though. - Ben Wern

Help! I need some freeware that will let me use my NeatReceipts scanner and just scan straight to a file. The NeatReceipts software is TOO SLOW and I don't want to use it's database, just want to scan stuff to pdf or image so I can stick stuff in Evernote. Anyone know of something simple and fast I can use??
Which OS? - Brett Kelly from iPhone
Windows XP - this is on my new netbook. - Lindsay is in 20-ten
DO ANYBODY NO? - Lindsay is in 20-ten
Sorry. Only tried NeatReceipts for about a day -- sent it back and switched to a Fujitsu S510. - Ben Wern
Does the built in Windows Scanner software not recognize it? You could try to use that. I’m not familiar with the device, but I use the Visioneer Road Warrior. Jeff - Jeff Cox from email
Can't you just scan as pdf, then drop the digital copy to evernote? - jcunwired
I think I figured it out... using this software: http://icopy.sourceforge.net/ and then "printing" it to PDF with http://primopdf.com - Lindsay is in 20-ten

It's nice to see Google offering priority Google Voice invites to (US) military.
Saw that too -- that's fantastic. - Jon Butler
Not that it gets me anything (not military and already have Google Voice), but still.. - Ben Wern

Why not ebay? - Mo Kargas
I didn't want to ship it. It was kind of heavy. I wanted local pickup, though I normally do use eBay. - Tamar Weinberg
I've had some limited success on Bonanzle for local pickup as well. - Ben Wern
I would like to say that I've never heard of that service but am willing to try it :) Thanks Ben. - Tamar Weinberg

Dear Google, my eyes want to know when will the Android Gmail app support setting bigger fonts?
How are you liking the Android? I'm waiting (very, very impatiently) for Sprint to carry one... - Ben Wern
I like it fine. You know you can purchase it unlocked at Wal*Mart. - Keith Barrett
True, but won't work with Sprint where my current plan lock-in is. Very tempted, but hoping against hope Sprint will release it as a dual GSM/CMDA "worldphone" config. - Ben Wern

For example, the research of Hart & Risley has shown that over half of the variance in a child’s vocabulary at age 3 can be attributed to the ways in which a parent talks to their child, and the way parents talk to their children varies dramatically depending on socioeconomic status. Specifically, they estimate that by age 4 the children of... - http://osi.tumblr.com/post...

I'm amazed that there are 15 people this call, and none of them understand how the process works.
That's nothing - you can easily have 50+ people on a call and have no one understand anything at all. That's amusement! - Ben Wern

Easy thing that could make healthcare a little better? Don't make me sit here while you take 4 drug reps back.
Why is the patients time (with an appointment, mind you) worth less? - Ben Wern

Well, this sucks. Met Tad for dinner tonight while Avynn is being tutored and since we are in separate cars he told me to go on home... get here and remember that I gave Avynn my house key this morning since he lost his somewhere in the house. :(
so I am locked out of my own house...no point in driving back over there since they'd be on their way back before I got there. So sittting in my dark back yard and waiting. :S - Lindsay is in 20-ten
Oh no! How long until Tad gets home? - Rochelle
no hide-a-key? - mjc
:( Did Tad go to pick up Avynn? - Derrick
@MJC no, unfortunately... gave Avynn the spare and haven't replaced it... @Derrick Tad is still over at the bookstore where Avynn meets with the tutor. - Lindsay is in 20-ten
@Rochelle well hopefully I won't be stuck more than 45 min or so... the hard part is that Nature is calling! - Lindsay is in 20-ten
At least it is only 98 degrees out here. *pant* - Lindsay is in 20-ten
drop by your neighbors - mjc
I've been thinking about getting a biometric lock for this very reason... something like http://www.amazon.com/Kwikset... - Ben Wern
DOH! - BEX
@MJC we have no neighbors for all three of the closest houses to us and I don't know anyone else in the neighborhood... Not quite extroverted enough to come barging in on a stranger's evening otherwise. - Lindsay is in 20-ten
@Ben, I have been talking to Tad about a biometric lock or a numberpad one for a while but he is convinced that our stupid screen door (which would interefere with getting a single lock) offers too much security to get rid of... I think I am going to press the issue now. - Lindsay is in 20-ten
Wish I could at least turn on our back porch light. It is annoying being in the dark. Thank Eris for my cellphone to keep me company and offer some light. - Lindsay is in 20-ten
Your chances might be better between the mother's day residual niceness and post stuck-in-the-heat sympathy.. - Ben Wern
Yay! Tad called to say they are on their way... I am so not an outdoor person... all these little noises are driving me nuts since I can't see anything. - Lindsay is in 20-ten
Sorry to hear that happened to you. I'm glad it won't be long for you now. Liked for thanking Eris. :) - Tony, Paradox of FF
Just in case anyone was wondering I did make it safely back inside!! - Lindsay is in 20-ten
Lindsay, I don't have first hand experience with the biometric-based locks, so I can't speak to that. But I just installed (http://friendfeed.com/micahwi... ) one of these http://reviews.homedepot.com/1999... which I highly recommend. I replaced another model/brand (http://reviews.homedepot.com/1999... ) which hasn't... more... - Micah Wittman
aww, poor lindsay. glad you are back inside now! :) - edythe

Calling Mon to purchase DSL at least as backup for the downtime my cable broadband has been experiencing. I've lost days of productivity
Keith, I get that every 1.5 years on Brighthouse. I call, they come out and assure me nothing is wrong and it's all in my head. I show them disconnects/speed drops, they replace the modem, re-run cable back to the pedestal, reground things, etc and it works again. They insist none of the things they did fixed it, but it works again. For a year or so. Where's my FIOS? - Ben Wern

Trying to figure out the most economical way to make calls from England. Skype App? Buy a data package through phone co?

Any thoughts on my next purchase for personal phone? Blackberry for work, Windows Mobile for personal right now. Perhaps an Android?
Did you buy a phone yet? I say wait! - Mona Nomura
Why not an Android or a Symbian-based phone? - Thierry R. Andriamirado
No, didn't do it yet - still a month or so from the end of my contract, and probably won't buy right away so definitely still in wait mode, but looking about. Digging the Android, and the Pre though.. Decisions, decisions. - Ben Wern
Thierry, it's all on the table as far as I'm concerned -- though I'm not entirely sold on the Symbian these days. - Ben Wern
