I agree. I am very happy with Twitter. Even if it does go down alot. But they are getting better. I haven't seen twitter down all week - Chacha via twhirl
Over the last month, I have tended to use Twitter less. During the last Lakers-Celtics game, for example, I was in the NBA Finals FriendFeed room. Ironic, since I spent good chunks of the World Series on Twitter. - Ontario Emperor via fftogo
I didn't realize the @ replies worked that way. - Tom Landini
i hate the way @replies work.. its a pita to figure out what the reply is about.. assuming you DO want to know. What is wrong with attaching the @reply to the original message, so you see them in the order the occurred, with the msg they were about? Isn't that how forums work and have worked for some time? If it ain't broke, don't mess with it. - Tim Hoeck
Well, the @ link is approximate. Oft times, it points back to the wrong thing. - Jauder Ho
Hallelujah on the replies tab coming to m.twitter.com! - Michael Beck
Agree -- it's more confusing than helpful in my mind. - Charles Barthold
it'd be nice for less ad hoc method to arise. @ replying to multiple people is kind of disfunctional, for example. - felix
LOVE the way @replies work. it is finely tuned to show me EXACTLY what I want to see... conversations within my Twitter social graph. LEAVE IT THE WAY IT IS but explain it better... - Elliott Ng
@ works fine for me -- just wish Twitter web would pick up @s anywhere in the tweet - Shey
I can see a book series coming. How to use Twitter, FF, Stumble, etc. etc - Charlie Anzman
How much hardware do they need to serve up all those Superpokes and Facebook app invitations? :) - Morton Fox
I would love to know what company is getting that server contract. - Mike Fruchter
Thats not for hardware, thats for cute serving wenches to serve Zuckerberg his Fruit Loops :) - Jody C
What? I thought all "those billions" it had would pay for the servers? ;-) - darnell
$100 million / 50,000 servers = $2,000 per server. (shrug.) Dell revenue is what, 15 billion a quarter? So it's not even a good day at Dell ;-) I'm not sure I'd want a percentage of the sale so much as a percentage of the electric bill ;-) Hope they buy their servers from Stark Industries -- free refrigerated mini-bar with every 100-million-dollars' worth of servers. - Karim
Happy Birthday to @davewiner -- of course he won't see this both because he's asleep and also because he blocked me on Twitter and FriendFeed. Say hi for me. - Robert Scoble
Happy Brithday Dave! On the age of 53 it is allowed to get Birthday whishes twice, so have a look at my comment on your post 'Happy Awareness Day' @ http://tinyurl.com/58x5wu :-) - Fred Zelders via Alert Thingy
Congrats Dave, also Scoble had a message for you: ) "Happy Birthday to @davewiner -- of course he won't see this both because he's asleep and also because he blocked me on Twitter and FriendFeed. Say hi for me." - Erhan Erdogan
According to the article: "The manual scanning — at up to 600 pages a day — is much slower than Google's regular process.
"It's monotonous," the 24-year-old said.
Then she knit her career hopes into the work.
"But it's still something that I'm learning about — how to interact with really old materials and working with digital imaging, which is relevant to art history."" - Ginger Makela
I still want someone to come to my house and scan all my old photos so I can get rid of the boxes. - Chris White
Great business idea. Wasn't there some company that would digitize all of your CDs for you? - Ginger Makela
There are a few companies that will scan your photos, but you have to send the negatives or photos to them by mail. It's a little scary, but worked for me. I used http://www.digmypics.com/. Digital Pickle has dropoff locations as well, but I haven't tried them: http://digitalpickle.com/. I only know about them because the founder came by our loft to buy a whiteboard we craigslisted in 2004. - Chris White
Awesome Chris! I'm so excited. We have boxes of photos at my folk's place that are getting moldy. I need to do this. - Ginger Makela
This is actually a business I've DREAMED of opening... a one stop shop for digitizing memories for people. Documents, photos, old movies, tapes - everything. We would keep a backup on site, as well as copies for the individual on the preferred media of their choosing, as well as online hosting. One day... one day. - Vince DeGeorge
Vince, we need it, because my organic memory is CRAP right now. - Ginger Makela
Will you be taking pictures or video of the gallery? I'm sure it's impressive - Bob
One time at Yosemite, I hiked with a friend up the left side of the main falls, and we heard some music. My female artist friend was so upset that someone had brought a boombox into nature. Then we rounded the corner, and a musician had brought his electric guitar and amp halfway up the falls. Cool! - Mitchell Tsai
post a shot of the tunnel view - beautiful this time of year - Dave Hodson
Scoble and TH - Can' wait to see this.. Ansel is one of my (and America's) favorite classics.. Way to go guys! - Randy Carranza
Hope to see you in HMB this weekend. You're not camping out up there, are you? - Francine Hardaway
