Leo Laporte posted an entry on Netflix Movies At Home
July 1 at 3:01 pm - Link
This movie made me so angry that I couldn't have an EV-1. It even fit my commute when I drove a lot further to work. - John Flinchbaugh
Better yet...who will succeed in reviving it? http://www.progressiveautoxpri... - Mark Krynsky
i'm addicted to documentaries - Justin
don't know who killed it but tesla is bringing it back:) - Grant
awesome.. saw this on tv a little while back.. very interesting - Tim Hoeck
If you're addicted to documentaries and like getting mad, Netflix "The Corporation". Saw it a few years back and it had me steaming. >_< - thepete
That was a really good movie - maxim shevertalov via twhirl
Jason Calacanis is buying or now owns a Tessla. The guy from Mahalo - Harry Myhre
Added to the Blockbuster queue. - xero
I remember seeing an EV-1 in someones drive way. They drove it every day!! - Eric_T
Saw it, good documentary. What's even more interesting is that cars like the Tesla and Volt are on their way... - Andru Edwards
Leo, you owe it to yourself to talk to Bob Lutz from GM about this... http://chris.pirillo.com/?s=el... & http://chris.pirillo.com/2008/... specifically. - l0ckergn0me
I'm buying a Tesla Sedan just to beat Chris Pirillo. He always gets cool stuff before me. :-) - Robert Scoble
Growing up in Michigan, we saw a couple of these on the roads. Our neighbor who worked for GM had one. It was so quiet! - Betsy Weber
This was a great documentary and made me sad about how far back this set the development of the electric car in the US. The industry could have had a US contender, but now it's up to the Japanese to decide our fate. - Phil Glockner
I sort of have my eye towards http://greenvehicles.com/ - John Flinchbaugh
they need to re-elease this with a new title - "who THOUGHT they killed the electric car" :) - Simon
Great movie, and I'm still pissed I can't buy an EV-1. - Brandice
Great documentary, watched a few years ago. Almost shed a tear when they showed the footage of the last few cars being crushed. - Phil Glockner
Oh, please. The laws of physics and electrochem killed the electric car. The EV-1 died because its market niche was too small. An EV would do fine for 90% of my driving, but what am I supposed to do for the other 10%? Just say "I won't do that any more"? - Jamie Hanrahan
this movie makes me sooooo upset! - claudio rivera
Tesla just announced their new sedan will be made in SF and available in 2010 for $60,000. Can't wait to buy one! - Leo Laporte
At $60,000 for a sedan, I guess there is still money in radio. - Ryan Cates
i wouldn't mind an electric car.. damn Detroit. - Adam C.
CARB killed the electrical car. But hell, we can also say it was GM, they paid CARB off O_o - Michael Forian
In realaity, is was most likely the EV-1 that killed the electric car the same way the Edsel killed inovation in the auto industry. Once bitten, twice shy. - Robert Hafer via twhirl
http://www.theaircar.com x The Air Cars Compressed air is an energy vector that can be used, in a viable way, to transport both people and goods. The main goal of Air Car Factories is to develop and manufacture a vehicle driven by a compressed air engine with a level of performance that will respond to the actual needs of todays market. With this aim we have drawn up a full agenda and an R&D plan of action for production start up. - alexandrek
Sorry but a compressed air tank has even less energy density than a lead-acid battery. See the "energy density comparisons" table at www.tinaja.com/glib/energfun.pdf - Jamie Hanrahan
Tesla is the way to go. The Menlo Park showroom is opening in late July. - Darrell Holmquist
Just got this one too. I was prompted to move it to the top of my queue by the Tesla announcement the other day. - Martin Gordon
Great movie, I can't believe they killed it the first time around, but GM almost killed it the second time around. Currently the Volt is supposed to launch in 2010. I am planning on stopping by the Telsa showroom next week while I am in LA. - Brian Blankenship
We had a big writeup in the L.A. Times re: new Tessla Dealership. It's in a high class neighborhood on the West Side. High visibility. Near some Porsche and BMW Dealerships, next to 405 Freeway. - Harry Myhre
