Will it run arbitrary software? What's the power consumption like? In other words, can I hook up a Drobo and a LAN and have this thing run as my media server, bit torrent client, and podcatcher? - xero
xero: it's not an internet device. it's not meant for geeks. It's meant to make it easy for normal people to get their content onto their HDTV. - Robert Scoble
Sad day, I'm really looking for something like what I described. I've been thinking about an Intel Atom box to sit in the entertainment rack, but I heard they have issues streaming 1080. - xero

BBC NEWS | Business | Downturn 'fuels unpaid overtime'
3 minutes ago - news.bbc.co.uk - Link
"The economic downturn is leading to workers putting in record levels of unpaid overtime, the TUC has said. It estimates 5.24 million people put in extra work worth £26.9bn in 2008. TUC general secretary Brendan Barber said while some of the rise was down to a "long-hours culture", workers' fears of losing their jobs was also a factor. "Inevitably, people will be putting in extra hours if they think it can help protect against redundancy or keep their employer in business," he said. Workers' health According to the TUC the average amount of unpaid overtime was more than seven hours a week, and workers were missing out on an average of £5,000 of pay." - Mathew A. BBC NEWS | Technology | Hard drive destruction 'crucial'
5 minutes ago - news.bbc.co.uk - Link
"A study by computing magazine Which? has recovered 22,000 "deleted" files from eight computers purchased on eBay. Criminals source hardware from such internet auction sites or even in rubbish from local councils in an effort to find valuable details. Freely available software can be used to recover files that users think they have permanently deleted. The only solution, according to Which?, is complete destruction - and it recommends using a hammer." - Mathew A. Koeneker via Bookmarklet
