- UncleCreepy13
OMG How toooooo cute. I am just in envy over your folks place, Steve. Fantastic. Hope you and Meli had a WONDERFUL Christmas!
- Tracy
Cuteness overload! I was just in Manitou Springs. I would have loved to buy you and Meli a drink. Anyway, if you get the chance, you guys should have breakfast at The Pantry ( http://www.greenmountainfalls.org/pantry... ). Tasty good eats with lots o'bacon!
- Miranda
All I could think to myself is someone has to take down and put all the decorations away! Beautiful home, awesome landscaping, love the deer and you all look wonderful and relaxed.
- Janet
The kitty wears so much personality in it's ears and eyes, its mesmerizing. Someone needs to Ustream this cat's antics for the world to see. I'd watch.
- Terence
he looks like my tiger. only my guy is 1 year old now. and a hellion
- Patricia
Mega-adorable! Other name suggestions: Neko (Japanese for cat), Dulce, Leche, Casper (Halloween theme?), Jude (Hey Jude?), Steve Jr... Running out of ideas for now. :)
- Vincent X
OMG SO CUTE. I like Pushkin! @jlt, maybe it sounds "almost" Russian because Pushkin was one of the greatest Russian poets of all time?
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
I didn't know either that Pushkin was a Russian poet... Nice! Makes a cute cat name.
- Vincent X
Caption: "Daydweamin & I'm thinkin of U." I like the name Bunny
- Kamilah Gill
Oh, sorry, you asked a question. Your nameless kitty is so adorable he may make my head esplode. My conure agrees, as she has tried to nom hims ears, and also made her kissy noises as she approached the screen.
- Ladybug Heather
well steve wants to call him astro and i'm settled on pushkin, so we have a problem. i like pumpkin, cute halloween homage! and as for luke, that's my last ex's name, so it's a no go. i like neko, but it sounds like "nico" of the velvet underground. and sassy is the name of my very first puppy. oh, and duckie, umm, no. thanks for all the feedback, maybe we can convince steve that pushkin is a way cuter name than astro!!!
- Melissa Maskevich
Does it have anything to do with Astro Boy?
- Vincent X
yes, i guess also the jetsons, and also, it sounds good with luna: luna and astro. moon and stars. but screw that. im all about pushkin!!!!!!!!!! how cute to give a sweet little hell raiser the name of a major russian literary figure. plus you can make it plural, making it even cuter and more fun to say--pushkins!!!
- Melissa Maskevich
Hahah. I love both... How about giving him a full name (first and last name)? Astro Pushkin! Steve could call him Astro, and you could call him Pushkin. Problem solved! Mr. Pushkin. Astro Pushkin.
- Vincent X
I LOVE THAT FACE!!!!! looks almost (haha!) as cute as my kitty...ok cat. :)
- dafire
Name it Nami. :) Namil? lol. get it nameless? so sweet. I love the face!
- dafire
very cool shots - was wishing i'd brought a waterproof camera w/ us on our cruise - we went kayaking and snorkeling on st martin - loved it...
- mike "glemak" dunn
More from our amazing tour guide. Dude I am so wanting to take the hubby!
- Tracy
Sadly, I am jealous of the whale experience as well, since I didn't have it. The photo was from the collection of our kayaking guide Justin - I'll have to go and leave that in the descriptions.
- Steve Isaacs
It's as if a Foley Artist was doing all the sound work...good lord that is horrible. Didn't this type of "leak" happen with Enrique Iglesias as well?
- cmiper
Mattie: To be honest, Britney never probably ever truly sings live these days - she sings a little bit and is heavily assisted by additional tracks to beef up the sound - if she does even have any voice going out at all. See her on SNL or last year's VMA's - it's about 90-100% canned.
- Steve Isaacs
Anything that starts with "Britney Spears is a great..." has to be something awful
- Outsanity
I always have hated that 'they dont sing cuz they are dancing' excuse......if thats the case just show me the video on a huge screen.
- royce
Axl Rose ought to get made props for being able to sing for as long as he has (and it's almost 25 yrs, not 15). My voice is gone after one 'Welcome to the Jungle' at karaoke, I can't imagine going a whole show.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Right on, Alejandro! Tina is the greatest of all time.
- ::Kristen::
Steve: Oh, most pop artists lipsync for their live performances, especially ones of tv. That's been around since the 50s. When I saw Britney sing it wasn't at a show.
- Mattie Kenny
ahh man. great find. horribly awesome!
- Carlos Lopez
I'm getting more selective about who I friend on FriendFeed. The criteria now is: 1) Being active on the service (leaving likes and comments) 2) Having a feed that doesn't have overlapping echoing posts 3) Makes FriendFeed native posts. Oh, and of course as Scoble says: smart people who aren't jerks
Peter: I didn't recommend hellotxt (http://friendfeed.com/e...) - I tried it for a day and it was too buggy to be of any use. I don't recommend ping.fm either - but I am using it for one thing and one thing only: to make mobile FriendFeed posts. It seems to work okay for that.
- Steve Isaacs
Yeah, I wish I could edit out the "smart people" line. I'm actually not a fan when Scoble says that all the time - seems just a tad elitist. What I really mean is avoiding people who aren't idiot time wasters.
- Steve Isaacs
But what if your really really smart and a jerk? Does it then balance out? lol
- Mathew™ one of a kind
Note to self: stand near Evangeline because you'll always look like less of a jerk compared to her. O:)
- Nine
@steve, I would also add the look for people who are cutting the chatter first !
- Peter Dawson
Peter: what do you mean - the ones who are starting conversations?
- Steve Isaacs
I do a selective review of their profile before I add, similarity in taste, humor, and a strong bias towards "under 400 friends"- though there are some exceptions (ahem)
- anna sauce
Steve: Wasn't sure where your question was going. On the hellotxt.com remark, I was of course joking around. I damn well knew it would result in double posts :-|
- Peter Ghosh
@Steve, not just starting the convo, pulling and posting on FF - bleeding edge stuff , that is cutting the news/ chatter/ whatever first.. they are the ones I want to befriend.. as primary info feeders . Most of the time, I see the same info being echo'ed across here in various methods, twitter, google reader and Plurk services etc.
- Peter Dawson
Interesting. I think I might have to eventually evaluate some of the people I follow because I don't think all of them are adding content and I can feel the same way about some of the things you're saying Steve.
-
The only rule I don't apply is the first one - if someone I follow isn't very active, they don't take up any room in my feed, and by their inactivity their name will stand out if they do post something. Incidentally, I really don't get people who make the same post across half a dozen services at the same time. Nothing against them, as such (a few follow me!), I just don't get the why.
- Slappy Line
Slippy: The "inactive" ones do take up room in your feed: with the feeds/blogs they have imported. If people only use FF as a place to echo their feeds into the world and don't use FF for what it is - a cool, scalable community, then I don't want their feeds just taking up space in mine.
- Steve Isaacs
Don't just import...share and discuss
- Josh Haley
Be right back, I need to check my feed. ;-) I am not sure but as a non-tech person on FF; it seems as if much of my feed will be non-pertinent towards the tech crowd. I am simply using it as the wonderful service that it is. Some of the bacon and mango (Sorry Mona and Akiva, I couldn't help myself.) posts have spun off in some interesting directions for example.
