Online submission and publication system built around the Law review ecosystem. Not immediately clear how it works or what the business model is. Appears to charge authors for processing but journals stay out of the system? Is this typical for Law Reviews? Law reviews are kind of weird. Most disciplines would call them "student journals." They tend to lounge about in their own little corner, separate from DOI infrastructure and whatnot. In their favor, they almost never sell out to big-pig publishers, though their relationships with Lexis, Westlaw, and Hein Online can be kind of incestuous.

Ye, I was wondering whether this Scholastica bunch were niche or could be a bigger play. Haven't come across them before and they seem small - but that doesn't mean that they couldn't be significant. But my impression was that law is a different space so experience and contacts may not transfer well.

I wouldn't give this great odds of success. I think SSRN has already eaten a lot of the OA law space.
