"At 10:23am on January 30th, more than three hundred homeopathy sceptics nationwide will be taking part in a mass homeopathic 'overdose' in protest at Boots' continued endorsement and sale of homeopathic remedies, and to raise public awareness about the fact that homeopathic remedies have nothing in them. 11 Days15 Hours45 Minutes23 Seconds Sceptics and consumer rights activists will publicly swallow an entire bottle of homeopathic 'pillules' to demonstrate that these 'remedies', prepared according to a long-discredited 18th century ritual, are nothing but sugar pills. The protest will raise public awareness about the reality of homeopathy, and put further pressure on Boots to live up to its responsibilites as the 'scientist on the high street' and stop selling treatments which do not work. If you want to get involved with the event, contact your nearest skeptics in the pub organisation. National press enquiries should be directed to Martin Robbins (press@1023.org.uk)"

"Talk about embarrassing. Steve Ballmer guest hosted on NBC's Today Show yesterday to talk about the Windows 7 launch. Sadly for Steverino, Matt Lauer talked a lot about Apple and the iPhone. Even worse, sharp eyes noticed an NBC-produced graphic in the background with a Windows 7 logo appearing on the screen of what clearly is a Mac laptop."

am I odd for thinking this isn't embarassing? They could spin it as "look, we can even turn your mac into a useful PC" or something. Why should they care what badge is on the machine as long as someone has spent their cash on a license for their OS? </devils advocate>

the more I see pics of Mr Chair Chucker, the more I think he'd be perfect for a guest spot on WWE Smackdown!
- alphaxion
alphaxion, I agree 100%, they need to embrace that and run with it. How many people using a Mac don't have a copy of windows running in a VM at the very least.
- Joshua Schnell
I should offer to run the MS marketing department and shake it up. ;)
- alphaxion
I Agree with you all, I am planning on buying Windows 7 for my MBP to run in a VM. I don't really think there is a war between Apple and Microsoft. They both need each other.

I never ceased to be amazed by how so much is done by so few. Everyone in that picture rocks. I'll even give Camilla a wee fistbump.

"The one-man show behind Tweetie is Loren Brichter, and I swear - I have no idea when this dude sleeps. He's been pushing out betas of the new release more often than I can count. And now 8 betas later, he's almost ready to send Tweetie in for Apple's approval, which, we have to hope will be quick and painless."

This might be enough of a reason for me to get away from Twitterrific again and go back to using Tweetie. Can't wait to have a look myself!
- Holger Eilhard
Yeah its ok. I wish they have added Posterous support in the same way that SimplyTweet does. Then all tweets that is longer than 140 char get posted automatically to my Posterous blog.

This is a broad over generalization. The 'perfect' equalizer settings depend on the song being played and the speakers that are being used for reproduction.

Ping! The not quite Blackberry Messenger for iPhone. Messages are free between iPhone users on WiFi, otherwise it uses your data plan. But as we in the UK have an all inclusive, effectively unlimited, data plan, it's free. - http://thenextweb.com/2009...
Hi guys. Thanks for posting this. I actually made this app!
- Ted Roden
Congrats, Ted! What was the genesis of Blasted.app if I could ask? Thanks :)
- Micah
Herzeleid and Hodson: that's not just a windows thing. they have this on a mac too. it's called "recent items" and it's under the apple menu all the time... certain people have different ideas about how those things should work, which is why I wrote this app.
- Ted Roden
Good shout Joshua, I have downloaded and installed. Great little app. Looking forward to the new features. I also got a nice personal mail from Ted :-)

Also, they make a "burst resistant" version.
- Rochelle
Rochelle, mine was anti-burst, unfortunately it caught on a screw, and was over pressurized. :(

Does it make you sit up straighter? I have been tempted to get one of those for the office...
- Lindsay
Lindsay it sure does. This morning was the first I have had in a long time that didn't feature lower back or leg pain... Plus you can 'shake dat ass' on them quite well so my butt is very tight
