Just realized something...I was *working*, and not exactly vacationing either, while complaining about the upstairs neighbor wearing shoes in her hotel room. I suppose this is a bit of the pot calling the kettle black ;-)

I've been looking at ping.fm as a mean of simultaneous posting to many social sites. Does anyone have experience with this service? Can you compare to Social Marker? Thanks.
I use it infrequently John but when I do it works just fine. Try Only Wire too if you have a blog you can put their button on prominently
- Graham Hunt
I love using ping.fm to get status messages across all my networks. Very helpful!

Web 2.0 = 2 types of site. Bookmarking for links, StumbleUpon, Propeller, Technorati etc. For these use Social Marker. Social sites such as Facebook Friendfeed Twitter etc. for these use ping.fm

Perhaps I'm getting conservative as I get older, but what is up with those overly sexy/barely legal American Apparel ads? Does anyone really buy (or even WEAR) their clothes anyway??? If their ads weren't so sexy, would anyone even care about them? Yeah, I said it!
- Carla Lynne Hall
great reflection ... and the b*w gives it the magical feeling ..

Child number 3 and my oldest daughter Holly.

great pic. question for you. Do your kids like taking pictures? Mine do but they have no interest in processing the photos. When I say processing I mean they don't even care to see them on the computer. They seem satisfied just looking at them on the camera LCD.
- gfurry
gfurry, make prints, the kids (and you) will enjoy them much more
- Michele Campeotto
cool! my both kids (4y girl and 2.5y boy) trying to shoot too! great picture...
- ilya
my kids like shooting. Jack my oldest son, who's 8, also likes processing. I've been pretty impressed with some of the work that he's done. None of the other 3 have done any processing yet. They love seeing them on the LCD though. Even my youngest, 4 year old Katie loves to shoot.
- Thomas Hawk
Always a proud moment when the little one picks up the tools, nice shot.
- Jason Remnant
This is such a beautiful study of reflections and perspectives: your daughter taking a picture (or pretending to) of something, the glass reflection of her taking a picture, and then you, taking a photo of her taking a picture. This picture is just so lovely, and perhaps a hint of things to come...
- Carla Lynne Hall
What a lovely picture! I learn about good of monochrome from this.

Someone asked me about "best of 2008' for the radio station. I said, MY best of 2008 is 100% indie artists. I never listen to the 'charts' in any case. I mean, there is some good major label stuff, out there, but I couldn't name anyone in the Billboard top 20.. I'd have to guess.
- Ian May
I agree with you 100% I haven't paid serious attention to the major label charts in years.

I saw Dr. Maya Angelou in person last year, and she is an AMAZING woman and speaker. When I heard the clip of this audiobook's introduction in her voice, the tears started flowing - she's just so wise and warm. She wrote this book for the daughter(s) she never had, and I'd be the first to claim that title ;-) Every woman needs at least one elder Wise Woman in her life. While I'm fortunate to have a few, I'm also grateful for the opportunity to hear Maya Angelou in my iPod, whenever I need a dose of Elder Woman wisdom.

Maybe it is just me ---- Video information does not "do it" for me. Even with the 30DC on about the 5th day I switched to reading the information from the transcripts... Don't get me wrong The guys and gal did a great job... I just don't have time to listen.. reading is so much quicker and accurate.
I felt very similar: I'd watch the videos, but just couldn't retain the info, and it was too fast for notes. I wound up waiting for the transcript to finish that day's activities. Boy, do I owe Hendry . . .
- LJF Wolffe
that's ok. everyone has a different style of learning. some reading, some videos :)
- Nikki
The thing that bugs me is I know it is or is going to be so important to the search engine even though it means nothing to me... I am a salesman and have been a guest speaker at a number of national conventions (not to mention being beautiful:-) so I can speak.... but I am going to buck all the way
- Mark South
We tried to cater to everybody - people learn differently - I will tell you a vast majority of people will learn better with video
- Ed Dale
Hey Mark, I hear you. I don't know so much about "quicker and accurate" but since I'm a list tragic I need to be able to read and reread instructions before the process infiltrates my psyche. On another note - I'm delighted to see you are as modest as you are beautiful! ;-)
- Kim Baillie
The videos have been very helpful for me, but it's also great to have a variety of choice for learning the 30dc techniques, such as the transcripts. Everyone learns differently, and the 30dc accommodates for this.
- Carla Lynne Hall
I agree Mark - I am a visual learner but not with video. I need to see the written word. However, I will say that in some cases I referred back to the video after reading the transcripts and gleaned different info. In addition, with 4 kiddles needing to be here and there print and go is my preferred method (unlike Ed I don't have an Iphone ;-))
- Elizabeth
Well I am glad I am not the only one... Ah Kim thank you, a woman that gets my satire. I suppose Video is also a little tougher for me than most... I have not had speakers connected to my computer for the last 3 or 4 years... I just found the sound to be frivolous. so when I watch video I have to pull my headset out. because Ed Dale looks way to funny talking without sound :-)
- Mark South
Hey, I also run into the problem that I do not have enough time to watch many of the videos. In fact 30DC challenge videos are amongst the few I have looked at in the last few months
- Greg
I have the same problem. I like being able to go back and reread the parts I don't understand
- Peter Johnson
Agreed much prefer written info. I hate it when accessing a website and an unexpected video kicks in.
- greenfee
I agree Mark. It was OK to watch the videos but the notes were more important and valuable to be able to print, have to hand & refer back to. However, I think we may now be deemed as 'Old School' as social video seems to be the 'thing' and if that's what is working best at present then we need to embrace (if not agree) & use to our advantage .......... Let me just get my stick to get out of the rocking chair to press record on the video thingy for the tellybox ......
- Steve
Total opposite for me. I prefer video's over text. Only because I'm way too lazy to do all the reading. + I don't have that much time to read the transcripts.
- ZoekmachineGuru
I can't remember who said it but I love the idea of a like button for the comments people make, if I could do one Steve you would have a little smiley face next to your name from me, so instead I will just give you a Virtual High Five, for your great comment. Now a question for you, can all the pages be printed off at once? Or do you have to go into each day and print off? I would like to have this to refer back to as you suggested.
- Groobers
@Groobers - I downloaded all the vids & notes (pdf) & saved onto disc, then printed off all notes to A5 size (one day of notes at a time unfortunately) & now keep them in my A5 Filofax for handy reference - printed them at work though so print & colour quality is better (Shh ... don't tell the boss!)
- Steve
@Groobers - so when the Boss thinks I'm busy working with my head in Filofax checking diary, calendar etc .... I'm actually reading through 30DC notes !!!
- Steve
@Steve - Sneaky! love it and thanks for the info.
- Groobers
No - I loved the videos,Ed's a natural and a talented teacher, the learning experience wouldn't have been the same without that multimedia - hope they dont drop them!

I am hoping to score a great deal on a video camera over Thanksgiving weekend. Its primary use will be for recording video for my internet business. I know some folks like the Flip but I am a bit concerned that it lacks a mic input. Anyone have any recommendations for me?
Try the little videocameras by AIPTEK. I LOVE mine. The one I have does not have a mic input either, but the HD quality is great. Perhaps they'll have an advanced model with a mic input. The other advantage Aiptek has over Flip is that it has a little monitor that you can see if you're making a video clip of yourself. You may be able to find these at Target now for around $113.

Ezine articles no longer playing ball? Anyone else having trouble with this? submitted several articles during challenge with no probs - now doing challenge again. They won't let us link to sub-domain pages on our websites, - is there anything we can do about this? need help here... thanks!
OOh, no don't use tinyurl. The point is to get your actual domain name on there - preferably hyperlinked with your keywords. I wasn't aware Ezine Articles had ever allowed linking deeper into websites.
- Lisa
Ezine Articles never "played ball" in the first place ;-) It's important to read their terms of service at http://ezinearticles.com/author-..., so you know what you're getting into. They offer a great service, so it's worth it to play by their rules. However, they will allow you to use your own domain in your article, so consider buying a cheap domain, and have it forward to your affiliate link. Subtle difference, but effective.
- Carla Lynne Hall
actually we have a grey relationship with Raine articles and tech the correct way to do it in the challenge
- Ed Dale
Yes I know, thanks all. Worked like a dream when I followed 30D method (Eds a gifted teacher!) problems came when I wanted to point to particular pages. Thanks, will try that shorten url idea - also will go back to principle that main reason is to get a link to our site, not make sales from there, although some marketers probably do. Back to work on it ,,,,,,,

I noticed recently that ezinearticles doesn't have the same power that it used to...
- Kelly Johns
yes, there suddenly seem to be a load more directories - Ezine was great in the 30D though - some of my London articles on there are still at the top! (shame they don't pay us for them lol!)
- Inspired Writing Research
You are incorrect. EZA has plenty of power. They're just administering it more judiciously, based on author and content quality. Good advice? In this economy, ALL businesses are recounting their real estate more carefully. The committed partner will get nice bumps. Follow @EzineArticles

Just visited my MySpace account, and just started blogging. Why? Hmm...Via the internet, this week I've communicated with a long-lost cousin, a kindergarten friend...and an old lover... - http://blog.myspace.com/index...
MySpace? Oh shoot I've got one somewhere. Supposed to use it to connect with artists like yourself, but it's such a PITA to use.
- Ian May
You're right. MySpace IS a PITA, especially when there are so many other cleaner choices to use. I hadn't even checked in since August. I need to find or create some kind of system to keep my social media sites organized...

I LOVE this song. It's a cool and soulful take on where the Devil went after he left Charlie Daniel's Georgia - wait for it - Washington, DC. This tune is not for everyone, but there's a sense of "beautiful violence" to this song that attracts me just the same.
- Carla Lynne Hall
It's a call to action for everyone in new media with more than 10 followers to lead the charge against despair and toward growth and prosperity. Amen to that!
