Ha! Of course, real nerds wouldn't let their precious memorial stubs fall on the terrazzo floor. Or have they been carefully fanned out for photo opp on some terrazzo-like countertop substance?
- colleen wainwright
great reflection ... and the b*w gives it the magical feeling ..

Child number 3 and my oldest daughter Holly.
- Thomas Hawk
great pic. question for you. Do your kids like taking pictures? Mine do but they have no interest in processing the photos. When I say processing I mean they don't even care to see them on the computer. They seem satisfied just looking at them on the camera LCD.
- gfurry
gfurry, make prints, the kids (and you) will enjoy them much more
- Michele Campeotto
cool! my both kids (4y girl and 2.5y boy) trying to shoot too! great picture...
- ilya
my kids like shooting. Jack my oldest son, who's 8, also likes processing. I've been pretty impressed with some of the work that he's done. None of the other 3 have done any processing yet. They love seeing them on the LCD though. Even my youngest, 4 year old Katie loves to shoot.
- Thomas Hawk
Always a proud moment when the little one picks up the tools, nice shot.
- Jason Remnant
This is such a beautiful study of reflections and perspectives: your daughter taking a picture (or pretending to) of something, the glass reflection of her taking a picture, and then you, taking a photo of her taking a picture. This picture is just so lovely, and perhaps a hint of things to come...
- Carla Lynne Hall
What a lovely picture! I learn about good of monochrome from this.

Jesse, but then he'd get all greasy :)

Funny thing is that Twitter is all about people talking, not numbers I thought. If the people are louder than the numbers that says something's wrong.
- Jesse Stay
Jesse: You should know it's not important what you say, what's important is how many other people say exactly the same thing.
- Ken Sheppardson
Jesse: these guys are all dopes. Numbers? Twitter isn't run by numbers. I can prove this. Alex should talk...
- Robert Scoble
New way to see @replies. Twitter Screenshots in Friendfeed :) See lots of them tonite.
- Atul Arora
Heh, good point about the spam accounts. The % of accounts that are inactive or spam is likely mind-boggling, which would make the % of wide-open reply lovers MUCH higher.
- Lee Adkins
So does that suggest all the Twitter users are liars?
- Louis Gray
Lasers spelled out pew pew tickle me so. Ever heard Einstein the parrot say pew pew pew. That's how it always sounds in my head. YouTube it if you haven't already.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is the debut solo album studio by Lauryn Hill. Released August 25, 1998, the album swept the Grammy Awards in 1999, being nominated for 11 and winning five. As of 2008, the album has sold over 18 million copies worldwide.

Yes, Yo. One of my favorite albums of all time.
- Derrick
Me too. I'm always trying to sing along with her too (while in the car). Just amazing.
- Yolanda
It's sad that's she's disappeared from the scene.
- Derrick
Did she lose her mind for a little while there? On that Unplugged CD she released, it seemed like she was going through some things.
- Yolanda
I'd say yeah. I think the business really did a number on her, and so she kinda stepped back from it all to focus on her family. Looks like she was performing in Europe and Asia most recently. I'll always have this album, though.
- Derrick
Maybe it is just me ---- Video information does not "do it" for me. Even with the 30DC on about the 5th day I switched to reading the information from the transcripts... Don't get me wrong The guys and gal did a great job... I just don't have time to listen.. reading is so much quicker and accurate.
I felt very similar: I'd watch the videos, but just couldn't retain the info, and it was too fast for notes. I wound up waiting for the transcript to finish that day's activities. Boy, do I owe Hendry . . .
- LJF Wolffe
that's ok. everyone has a different style of learning. some reading, some videos :)
- Nikki
The thing that bugs me is I know it is or is going to be so important to the search engine even though it means nothing to me... I am a salesman and have been a guest speaker at a number of national conventions (not to mention being beautiful:-) so I can speak.... but I am going to buck all the way
- Mark South
We tried to cater to everybody - people learn differently - I will tell you a vast majority of people will learn better with video
- Ed Dale
Hey Mark, I hear you. I don't know so much about "quicker and accurate" but since I'm a list tragic I need to be able to read and reread instructions before the process infiltrates my psyche. On another note - I'm delighted to see you are as modest as you are beautiful! ;-)
- Kim Baillie
The videos have been very helpful for me, but it's also great to have a variety of choice for learning the 30dc techniques, such as the transcripts. Everyone learns differently, and the 30dc accommodates for this.
- Carla Lynne Hall
I agree Mark - I am a visual learner but not with video. I need to see the written word. However, I will say that in some cases I referred back to the video after reading the transcripts and gleaned different info. In addition, with 4 kiddles needing to be here and there print and go is my preferred method (unlike Ed I don't have an Iphone ;-))
- Elizabeth
Well I am glad I am not the only one... Ah Kim thank you, a woman that gets my satire. I suppose Video is also a little tougher for me than most... I have not had speakers connected to my computer for the last 3 or 4 years... I just found the sound to be frivolous. so when I watch video I have to pull my headset out. because Ed Dale looks way to funny talking without sound :-)
- Mark South
Hey, I also run into the problem that I do not have enough time to watch many of the videos. In fact 30DC challenge videos are amongst the few I have looked at in the last few months
- Greg
I have the same problem. I like being able to go back and reread the parts I don't understand
- Peter Johnson
Agreed much prefer written info. I hate it when accessing a website and an unexpected video kicks in.
- greenfee
I agree Mark. It was OK to watch the videos but the notes were more important and valuable to be able to print, have to hand & refer back to. However, I think we may now be deemed as 'Old School' as social video seems to be the 'thing' and if that's what is working best at present then we need to embrace (if not agree) & use to our advantage .......... Let me just get my stick to get out of the rocking chair to press record on the video thingy for the tellybox ......
- Steve
Total opposite for me. I prefer video's over text. Only because I'm way too lazy to do all the reading. + I don't have that much time to read the transcripts.
- ZoekmachineGuru
I can't remember who said it but I love the idea of a like button for the comments people make, if I could do one Steve you would have a little smiley face next to your name from me, so instead I will just give you a Virtual High Five, for your great comment. Now a question for you, can all the pages be printed off at once? Or do you have to go into each day and print off? I would like to have this to refer back to as you suggested.
- Groobers
@Groobers - I downloaded all the vids & notes (pdf) & saved onto disc, then printed off all notes to A5 size (one day of notes at a time unfortunately) & now keep them in my A5 Filofax for handy reference - printed them at work though so print & colour quality is better (Shh ... don't tell the boss!)
- Steve
@Groobers - so when the Boss thinks I'm busy working with my head in Filofax checking diary, calendar etc .... I'm actually reading through 30DC notes !!!
- Steve
@Steve - Sneaky! love it and thanks for the info.
- Groobers
No - I loved the videos,Ed's a natural and a talented teacher, the learning experience wouldn't have been the same without that multimedia - hope they dont drop them!

If you use Gmail, than I *highly* recommend getting the FireFox Better Gmail 2 Add-0n. It was just updated and now give an option to have your Google Calender AND Google Reader as a collapsible box right from/within your Gmail page. This is Awesome No more having multiple tabs open. Allows full use - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US...
Well its confirmed. The link to my Google Reader has been removed from my toolbar. With this new option in the Better Gmail 2 add-0n I can just go to my gmail deal with my emails then check, confirm and add my appointment and events on my calender and then skim my RSS feeds right from my Gmail. A lot less tab and link *clutter* yaaaa. P.S. The add-on does a whole lot more too!
- Ron"micronet"Harwood
Thanks micronet! i installed it, and it's great, really a "tab-saver"..
- Paul Sarcia
I love it!!! What a tab and time saver Thank you.
- Lea
I LOVE this song. It's a cool and soulful take on where the Devil went after he left Charlie Daniel's Georgia - wait for it - Washington, DC. This tune is not for everyone, but there's a sense of "beautiful violence" to this song that attracts me just the same.
- Carla Lynne Hall
30DC skills work on every site! I've built a site that isn't a blog, it's a goal setting social network experiment, but the 30DC tricks and tools are sure helping to bring in the visitors. They're also getting me indexed by google quick smart. Thanks ED and the gang! - http://www.krmaa.com
Am I the 1st person to sign up Scott?! - would be nice to be able to see something when I click on each section :-D But otherwise looks v. good. Have stumbled it, will put a goal in soon.
- Isha (Marysia)
Hey Marysia, i have to admit there are only a dozen people signed up at the moment. The more people that join the better it will get, but it's only about 8 days old. Most of the pages are customised for each person so I think what I'll do now is go and write up a page on how to personalise your page. I'll put the link in here once it's done. Thanks for the feedback and the stumble!
- Scott Mackenzie
Yeh this is cool. I have RSS'd this into Google Reader. 30DC is really helping me become more pro about online marketing. Awesome stuff here.
- Greg Martin
@Andrew Wooldridge LOL! That brightened up my day!
- Charlie Hope
from twhirl
hm? I just assumed you meant a new blog post. Do you mean a whole new blog site? Now I'm even more curious.
- Lise
It's not actually the same. Apparently you can set your own board and rules at the beginning of a game. I haven't played yet but I was looking at it this morning.
- Corie
Those clever brothers have given us the tools to build any board we want by placing the value "squares" ourselves and determining the distribution of the tiles and their values - a board that can be saved as a template for future games. Build once, use often. So of course we're all building clones of the Scrabulous board, it being one of the possible permutations. The only things missing are the two blanks. Hasbro/Mattel must be livid.
- Bob Kingsley
Just created a feed from Ezine articles that goes straight into Google Reader and alerts me whenever a new article is posted on my particular subject. Easy to do. Very useful.
Thanks Ian, I appreciate the reply and that's good info to know
- Scott Bannon
Is it actually any quicker than google alerts?
- Andy Roberts
I'm not sure Andy. I haven't tried Google alerts for article notification. Isuppose it would work the same.
- Ian
Is it possible to create a RSS feed based on keyword at ezine.
- Brian
I don't think you can Brian, but I'm prepared to be proved wrong. You can certainly do it by author as well as category. If you go to http://ezinearticles.com/rss/ there is a whole slew of potential categories to subscribe too. It may even give you some ideas for your product/website if you are still undecided.
- Ian
I had a similar idea for niche-related Yahoo Answers search results the other day - the possibilities are endlessly cool for niche research!
- Bill Romer
I use Scribefire and it works great with Flock. It's a huge improvement over Flock's blog editor.
- Shari Voigt
I'm not familiar with it, but with comments like these, I 'll have to check it out. Thanks for the tip.
- Carla Lynne Hall
I was trying it in Flock a couple weeks ago - I was trying to write in the lower window while watching Ed's video on YouTube - it seemed to be trying to start and stop playback every time I hit the spacebar, not exactly what easy to write like that. I like ScribeFire for everything else - I'll keep experimenting with it for 30DC stuff.
- SteveH
Fantastic! Are these girls 30DCers who have you just adopted their song for your team? Very talented
- Lisa
No, they are not 30DCers. I discovered Kina Grannis through YouTube long before she won the Dorito's Superbowl Halftime Video contest, so I have a special affinity for her music. This song was perfect for our present purposes, and I thought I might tap it for some inspiration. *Those are Kina's younger sister's in the background. If you get the chance, check out the rest of her videos esp. the original "Message From Your Heart" (my fave).
- Sam Sotiropoulos
Have had this in my Youtube faves for months! I'm glad she won that contest, i voted for her, but i couldnt remember where to go to check the results. Thanks for that Sam.
- Frann Leach
Frann, as I watched the Superbowl halftime show and they introduced her video I actually cried out of happiness for her... Just a fantastically talented young lady with both looks and smarts, she damn well deserved it! And you are most welcome! :)
- Sam Sotiropoulos
FYI: The young ladies (Kina Grannis and her sisters) are not part of the 30DC, this is just a video I found on Youtube last year, quite by accident, and I thought I might share it with the 30DC.
- Sam Sotiropoulos
Excellent! I enjoy the video as well as the song very much
- Raymond
I created mine via my Real name for the Credibility aspect - Associated the Adsense and will use it for "whitepaper" type topics that I usually do on my blog. I will summarize my blog posts into the Knoll and see what happens :)
- Eric Gehler
Do follow links at the end of your knol so that could be useful. I like Eric's idea of 'white paper' topics associated with the blog. Credibility and transparency look really important. On the other hand name verification is only available for people in the US, so I might not bother anyway.
