I see your point. My code is littered with #endifs and #endfors. But otherwise it would be littered with closing braces, so it's really just a problem that it can be tricky to debug with an #end is missing. - Gabe

@Carl: Re: the planet, from the time the server got setup, I was seeing 5-10% packet loss to the machine from a couple of different places which really killed productivity. Also some crawling processes I was running were seeing problems as well. I never could get anyone competent to help debug. I didn't try very hard though. On top of that I never did like RHEL - to start with I just wanted a basic ubuntu installation and you had to get RHEL/CentOS at the planet. - Arvind Sundararajan

i have use this function before, and do not like ,because i use gmail web client - qian

So the iPhone only syncs Outlook calendars. It doesn't even sync "web calendars" (i.e., it can't sync an ical calendar from Outlook, at least as far as I could tell). So my iPhone method is to sync Google Calendar to Outlook, then sync Outlook to iPhone. If there is a better way for iPhone, I would love to hear it. I was flabbergasted the iPhone calendar didn't support the ical format or any internet connectivity by default. - Bret Taylor

The main reason is alerts and reminders. I sit programming, and I need my phone to ding at me if I need to leave for a meeting. - Bret Taylor

Wonder if SMS reminders would do (that's probably costly) or if you can get iPhone to ping you when you get a new email reminder from Google Calendar, perhaps only when using a certain subject keyword. Google Calendar has a "5 minutes before" reminder setting... - Philipp Lenssen

From the post: "We give you a few hide options, so you can, for example, hide someone's Flickr photos until they get commented on or liked, at which point it will re-appear in your feed. In our internal testing, this feature has been an effective way of letting just the 'good stuff' through." Awesome feature. Interesting "drop down menu" widget. Not sure how I feel about it web-ui-wise. It seems a little strange for these links to act differently... but of course I wouldn't want to clutter things up with a big arrow or combo-box control or anything. Hmm. - ⓞnor
