""Channel changes get much faster on Cell TV, because live video streams are already decoded simultaneously," said Nishida, "just like in the good old days of analog TV."" - Lode Nachtergaele

the Japanese culinary tradition of omakase, in which master sushi chefs choose every element of the menu for guests (literally, "let the chef decide"), is a clever form of simplicity. Television is the omakase of visual media. - Lode Nachtergaele
Geolocation - For mobile devices that can determine the user’s current location, Gears makes this geolocation information available to applications running within the browser. The geolocation API can be used to identify the user’s position once or to watch it over time as the user moves around. Permission to access a user’s position must be granted through a special dialog, preventing unwanted snooping. - Lode Nachtergaele

A bell has rung. The tunnels described above are called chord tunnels and the travel time through the earth in a frictionless chord tunnel is always 42 minutes, even if the tunnel is only a few hundred miles long or so (say from New York to Detroit). (thx, mike) - Lode Nachtergaele
http://www.spore.com/view/prof... The automatic upload of all incarnations of my creatures has gobbed everything up, IMO. The older creatures made with creature creator are better. Also, I've found the thumbnail of my buildings often shows the back, even though I swear I keep the default orientation. Sigh... - Shannon Jiménez
I raced through as a carnivore the first time too. Then I decided to try it as an herbivore. Guess now I should try omnivore... - Shannon Jiménez

“Same problem as with Creature Creator on Mac. It locks up in full screen mode, has to be killed remotely because i can't tab out and then completely screws my displays. EA is definitely no Blizzard.”
Locks up constantly on exit. Wonderful QA EA. Hurray for a horrible first impression. - ·[▪_▪]·

Spore runs fine on my Imac running leopard, only registration was/is a problem - Lode Nachtergaele
game works just fine for me on my iMac and MBP - timepilot
The problem turned out to be audio. Spore doesn't appear to properly handle audio. It must be trying to access the device directly instead of going through the OS. I have to actually set my system audio to one of the 'Built-in' output devices for the game to run. Kinda sucks. My machine is an digital audio workstation so i use a high-end external audio interface to drive my speakers. Spore is the first app to have a problem. - ·[▪_▪]·
