All of the various settings that can be adjusted for better battery life. Funny—I’ve been doing many of these things on my Treo 700p for the past two years anyway, so it won't be that big a deal for me. Of course, all 16 GB black iPhones are sold out in Massachusetts currently, but that's another issue.

Agree both philosophically and practically. However there is one type of closed that still makes big bucks - closed and cool. Apple; Facebook etc. Of course its a toss up how long cool can stay cool.

Why do you share things? What emotions or thoughts go into you clicking a 'share' button? Is it a work of beauty or humor? Are you saving it for later? Are you trying to get our attention? If you share top stories, why? Do you think we missed it? Do you ever share to show off? Why do YOU share?
i share the things that people shouldn't miss. I share to get attention because (i think) i have a different way of looking on things, for me it's most of time a work of reflexion/ thougts but time to time ri share humour and more beauty

I share things for 2 reasons... which maybe are the same. 1) If you find me and what Iike to be interesting.. I want to show you what I find interesting. 2) Shamelessly there is the issue of the personal brand... if I show you I'm valuable to you, there is a greater value placed on anything I say... social currency ftw! ...via AlertThingy

I suppose I should answer my own question. I do often share things because I think I focus on more important crap than what Techmeme shows us. I also share things that are the manifestations of crap I've been saying for a long time. It's like passive aggressive show-offedness. On the other hand, I do share for myself and I do share if it's just something nice. We should try it. Right before you click 'share', stop. Think why (then continue heh).

Depends on the share button. GReader shares tend to just be interesting or funny things that I think people might enjoy, mostly because it made me chuckle or raised an eyebrow. Social bookmarking I tend to use for link blogging. It's something interesting enough that I want to comment on it, but it's not a big enough topic that I want to write a full post. I try to choose my share method carefully, and try to avoid cross-posting the link.

I share whatever I find interesting, funny, useful, amusing (yes that falls under funny, I know), educational, important, and pretty much anything else I think is worth reading.

I want people to enjoy what I enjoy. I find a lot of interesting things in the web (I think) and I want other people to see them too. It's also about giving something back, because I find a lot of interesting things here too.

I share things our portfolio needs to know, or things I want to be able to find later. Lately I'm not sharing as much. ...via AlertThingy
