Those overdraft bank charges? Aren't they for unauthorized overdrafts only? Most banks I looked into offer an automatic overdraft facility and charge only interest at the going rate (something at 1.5% above Bank of England base rate). First Direct, A&L, Barclays for example. It's the credit card companies that bug me. Uncooperative mostly.
