#saturdayff when I was in high school, I was a huge fan of Pink Floyd's The Wall. I honestly watched the movie almost every day for the better part of 3 or 4 months. As I've gotten older, though, I've become much more interested in the Pink Floyd albums influenced by David Gilmour than those orchestrated by Roger Waters.
Wish You Were Here, Momentary Lapse of Reason & Division Bell all appeal to me more than The Wall, now. They're much more melodic & less chaotic.

I was the same: I was HUGE into The Wall when I was a teenager. Listened to the record and watched Parker's movie repeatedly and constantly. My favorite Floyd is still side 1 of Animals and the entirety of Wish You Were Here. Have you heard Amused to Death? Best Floyd album that wasn't a Floyd album.

Gilmour is awesome, but I don't really listen to any post-Wall. Love WYWH, Animals, Dark Side (though overplayed), Meddle and some of the really early stuff.

You should check out Amused to Death. It's Waters but it's more Floyd than Momentary Lapse of Reason or Division Bell. On the other hand, Gilmour's On an Island was fantastic, too; he was really at the top of his form there. I still dig the early stuff when I'm in the mood. Astronomy Domine always kills but it's Remember a Day that really impresses. There's just something adventurous about it that I really like.

I'll make a point of checking it out, thx.

Downloading Amused to Death now. It's odd that you say that about Momentary Lapse, though. To me, that album is a logical progression/extension of Wish You Were Here.

Radio K.A.O.S. is one of my favorite albums as well. You have to read the whole story in the liner notes though, otherwise you probably won't get the whole story. This album is where the song "The Tide is Turning" is from, that he closes some live versions of "The Wall" with.

Wow, same here, I was around 12ish, and the Wall was the first "adult-themed" movie I ever saw. It was an eye opener on so many levels. Me and my Israeli friend who lived in my apartment building watched it obsessively. Her older sister had the tape. We wore it out. :D
