I mean, is there a way to hide it?? Like "Oh crap! The dog ate all the VHS tapes!! And your wedding tape was in there too!!" I'm just so stumped on that one. - Daniel Monzelowsky
At least they realized before popping that sucker in at a family party expecting the best man's speech :p - Charles Bihis
“Your feed is full of Twitter, Stumble, and Digg. You have <150 likes+comments for the entire week. You have just fulfilled the criteria for not getting subscribed to. Not that you care, because you will probably never see this message.”
It's an equation though. Not just about Likes or comments. There are feeds that are ONLY delicious and Digg or something. It's ridiculous. If you don't Like or even Comment much, but you have actual real activity in your feed (for instance, RPM, people I know like your stuff), you good - Rah™
That's I how do it. If you're not liking or commenting you're not participating. Full of Twitter, ping.fm and Digg. No thanks. - Mark Wilson
I guess those feeds just don't register for me enough to worry about - anything that isn't liked or commented on is hidden. Excepting the usual suspects of course. - Capn' "One-Eye" Longman ☠
True, Capn. I pretty much hide all micro-blogs with no likes/comments, but it's also a personal thing. I look at a feed and see that all of it will be hidden always. Why bother giving them a follow? They would probably actually be excited about another person "listening"..LOL - Rah™
Seems like you wouldn't subscribe to your own feed. - Amit Morson
Uhm...don't really see your logic, Amit. Help me out. - Rah™
Makes sense, there are plenty of people who made a FF acct once and left, but the feed still updates. I've been thinking about removing some feeds from my account precisely for this reason. Maybe FF should let us know who is an active user, like it does the rooms. - Robert Haas
Of course if you see a dead feed (no sources or posts) and you know the person, subbing them would result in an email in their inbox - might remind them they had the account in the first place. - Capn' "One-Eye" Longman ☠
Well, if I know you, you obviously get a pass :) - Rah™
That would be a cool experiment. Could a group of friendfeeders revive a dead feed if they all subbed that person at once? All of a sudden their inbox is inundated. Here's one: http://friendfeed.com/jreynold... - A FriendFeed intervention. - Capn' "One-Eye" Longman ☠
i look for comments. i've had people who don't have a single thing in their feed subscribe to me. i block them. but it their feed just looks like a dumping ground, i don't subscribe to them at all. - Faboo Mama
Sounds like A-Listers ;) Check your friend recommendation page. - AJ Batac ♘
When I first signed up here I listed every single service I had ..but I removed it. I try to participate where I can/feel that I have something to say.. + the 'likes'. - Rebkin
Dude I feel you there. I can't be active everyday since I don't have internet at home, but I try. I'm hoping that I don't lose subscribers over it. I do like and comment when I can, and submit articles. I have seen users who just create the account and disappear. I guess they are just testing the site and lose interest. - Dennis Jackson
Charles, It's arrogant to avoid subscribing to people who are obviously not contributing to my experience? And Amit, you never explained your point. - Rah™
All I know is, I'm tired of posting to FF, coming back a few hours later and seeing that my FF posts have all disappeared. It makes me want to post less. I'm still not sure why that's happening, and why it's so random. - eve shot first
eve, they're just being pushed down. because tons of posts come in every second especially if you have lots of friends here. you have to try to manage them in groups. - AJ Batac ♘
Everyone has to have their standards. Once a bar is set though, people will complain that you are being unreasonable. You do not have to listen. Blocking Rah seems a bit much though. - Rob Diana
I thought I was being quite reasonable. Taken altogether, the above criteria would make for quite a useless feed AND a person that doesn't even talk to or look at anyone else's stuff. - Rah™
Rah, I do not listen to the stumbles and diggs. The 150 likes/comments is an interesting setting, but I am sure there are people that will complain even if you set the bar at 50. The point being, they might feel like you do not think they are "good enough" to listen to. Just commenting on human nature, not your "bar". - Rob Diana
@AJ but I don't see them anywhere! Posts that I made yesterday are just gone--I went back through several pages on my feed and they're nowhere to be found. Maybe I should drop FF an email. - eve shot first

"NEW YORK (Reuters) - A security hole in Adobe Systems Inc software, used to distribute movies and TV shows over the Internet, is giving users free access to record and copy from Amazon.com Inc's video streaming service.
The problem exposes online video content to the rampant piracy that plagued the music industry during the Napster era and is undermining efforts by retailers, movie studios and television networks to cash in on a huge Web audience.
"It's a fundamental flaw in the Adobe design. This was designed stupidly," said Bruce Schneier, a security expert who is also the chief security technology officer at British Telecom.
The flaw rests in Adobe's Flash video servers that are connected to the company's players installed in nearly all of the world's Web-connected computers.
The software doesn't encrypt online content, but only orders sent to a video player such as start and stop play. To boost download speeds, Adobe dropped a stringent security feature that protects the connection between the Adobe - Susan Beebe

The fundamental flaw is treating your customers like criminals in the first place. DRM will pretty much never stop pirates, and pretty much always piss off consumers. - Brian Norwood
Wow, Google seems so adamant about not revealing trade-secrets that it seems like they answer *all* questions with ridiculously vague answers. C'mon! Just tell us what YOU use "beta" to mean. No one will overtake you for it. - Charles Bihis

This Experiment Platform sounds like a great idea for improving Microsoft's hosted services, but I think they're missing some basic fundamentals in the area. They could probably benefit just as much by trying to learn the lessons that others have already solved, like Google, Amazon, and Yahoo!...especially in areas like usability. - Charles Bihis
very cool. i've never been there, but that's a nice place to be. - Cee Bee
I hate umbrellas (and wear hooded sweatshirts when it rains--I won't touch an umbrella EVER). I also don't do with flipping the bird. But for some reason, I'm drawn to this umbrella. I'd probably even use it. - Tamar Weinberg
we've known for years Gay Ache'n.....kinda sad that it takes having a test tube baby with a woman you'll never have sex with......to get you to admit to yourself and the world that you like the cock.........NEWFLASH.........nobody cares if u like the cock or the twat.......what gets you off is your business and nobody elses..........im moar concerned with what the bush administration is up to than if Ache'n is a pitcher or a catcther........ - UncleCreepy13
And.... you're blocked UncleCreepy. Thanks for playing - better luck next time! - Tad - the Meme Maker
Yeah - guess so. Low tolerance today. Was he being funny? Looked offensive to me... - Tad - the Meme Maker
Eh, I have seen lots worse. :) It is hard to say really. It seemed more like "I dont care there is more important stuff going on cock cock twat twat" - Not Not Geoff Schultz
FWIW, I respect your right to block Tad, but I don't think he was really all that offensive. His word choice was just probably shocking. - Monique

Interesting concept. Not sure if we need a physical product for social id sharing. - Erinc
I got in the beta.. all they have is Twitter. Nothing else works. :P - Haggis (Sean)
Lindsay: It doesn't have to be that way. It's saying that: "You can imagine you don’t want to stream a contact to all your social services at once. With Profiles, it’s possible to create individual connection modes..." Seems handy to me. - Tibor Holoda

I "like" it on the basis of its recognition that people want to unite their various identities. I just wish it wasn't oriented around whether or not I carry a web-enabled telephone. An identity isn't dependent upon a single device or medium. - Jill O'Neill

I have both. Playstation is seeing more use because of Blu-Ray player and better HD quality. - Robert Scoble
the Wii does rock, but between the PS3 & Xbox 360 i chose the Xbox, just because it integrates with my windows machines nicely. - Trent Olson
I like the Wii, but find it more of a "social" console. I've heard good things about both PS3 & XBOX, but can't seem to figure out why one would choose one over the other. Would Blu-Ray be the main reason..? - Far
if you want your machine to break down and get the red rings of death by all means get an xbox - Cee Bee
I went with PS3 only due to wanting Blu Ray. I think the Xbox 360 is a better choice for gaming and streaming media from your PC. I will prob get one soon. - Mark Krynsky
Far - Ask yourself what you would be using them for, and the type of games you play. And if you're not a hard core gamer or a display geek, I don't think Blu-Ray will be that big of a deciding factor... -just saying. - Mona N.
I think you should figure out the games you want to play and use that as a deciding factor for the console - imabonehead
If you want Blu-ray, then PS3. Otherwise, I'm a big 360 fan. It's better integrated with your PC (of course, if you're a Mac user, never mind), it has more online gaming options, and I think, better exclusives, though that depends on what sort of games you like. - Jandy Stone
I prefer the 360 because it has the best selection of games and online integration. The PS3 is good if you want a Blu-Ray player. Just about every great game is multiplatform now so neither choice is a bad one in the end. - Robert Haas
Xbox 360...they don't have Halo for the PS3 ;) - Charles Bihis
I've decided on PS3 despite the extra cost. It's more of an investment for the future, plus you don't have to buy a wifi adapter and subscription to play online. Oh, an I love Metal Gear Solid games more than Halo! - Martin Bryant
Though honestly I have a xbox 360 because between the Xbox 360 was cheaper over the PS3. - Colide81 (James)
PS3 has blue ray so if you are big into movies that one and my bf has an xbox and he says that it breaks all the time and you have to pay money every year to use it online. He really isn't much for the xbox but we don't have ps3...... yet! - Brandy Lea Photography
PS3. Free online play, the playstation store has a lot of great content, blu-ray is super sweet, and most multiplatform games look better on it. - Aaron Hood
I was just thinking about this myself!! I heard on the radio that 360's have dropped to $200 so I think Im gonna have to get one... - Amber Horner
I asked a similar question and most came back saying get the Xbox 360. I still interested in the Blu-Ray of the PS3 and I think that will win it for me. I hope to have enough cash to buy a console in January. - Kol Tregaskes
Xbox 360, great price, great selection of games, superior online gameplay and you and I can play together! - Lindsey Smith
Can you link your 360 to your wireless LAN? - Shey
Love my Xbox 360, getting a Wii for Christmas, and will eventually get the PS3 strictly for the BluRay. Love the 360... did I mention that? - Damien Franco
I would get the PS3. I've got a Wii and a PS3 and I can hardly get any work done - phuckpolitics
I like Xbox 360 for the Xbox Live service. It's an organized place that all of the games which support multiplayer use and they just work and you and all your friends don't have to go and find each other which each game. If online multiplayer isn't a consideration, then title selection I guess would be of most importance to me. - Adam Turetzky
Wii is great for casual gaming. PS3 and 360 will be catching up given the Wii's success. PS3 has slightly better hardware but the 360 has a far better UI and a better online experience. The software should decide. Decide the types of games you want and like to play and research which platform has the most highly rated of those games. For me, in order of time playing: DS, Mac, Wii, PS3, PSP, 360. Looking forward to "Little Big Planet" which might bump PS3 past Wii. - ·[▪_▪]·
For better online experience xbox 360. It is worth the $50 or so a year ($4.25 per month Btw). If you are a huge online gamer, i would say 360. Depends on which games and also which system your friends will be playing on. Can't really go wrong. I play my PS3 alot now but I have all three. Good luck. - Amani
Awesome!! He trains with American Top Team in South Florida, no? - Corie "Viper" Jones
Yeah he does! Him and his family live in Olympia, about 45 minutes from Ivan's gym in Seattle, but when it's fight time, they all move to Florida so he can train with ATT. - Charles Bihis
