Ha! It was my wife's birthday yesterday and she got lots of stuff on her wish lists! (For Christmas, I try to surprise her with stuff not on the lists.)

I don't know. It strikes me more as them looking at the iPhone and how it's used (like a netbook) and them wanting to be the center of attention on your netbook-ish device you're using on your couch. What better way to show you ads and continue making money than to be your OS?

Carlos - Have been busy playing catch up after 2 days off line. Expect to be soon. Wrote the post to point to the articles which didn't get much play from what I can see

Didn't realized you could just browse friends like that. That's even better than the drop down menus we had with the previous version of friendfeed.

I used to think this too. I don't anymore. If you want more friends. make 'em in real life. Cultivate interesingness online, in yourself, and seek it out in others. As for hooking up with your real friends online, tread carefully. The room may be bugged.

I'll never understand this idea that rating comments helps anything. All it does is play into the idea of web celebrity. People will always vote for the celebrities. And people also just vote up the angriest posts. As far as anonymity, there are very very few anonymous posters on friendfeed. No one follows anyone who is anonymous, so what the anonymous say doesn't get seen. This whole post is just built on wrongness.
