If one were paying attention to sites reporting the leaked rumors, this isn't much of a surprise. But, otherwise, it's a big surprise...the E-P1 came out just a few months ago. Another surprise is how little is different. Seems like Oly is just trying to capitalize as much as possible from Panasonic's problems supplying GF1 units to the buying public.

I salute you, Mr. "Blasting, Pat Benatar's 'Love Is A Battlefield' From Your Camaro." No one can tell you you're wrong.
Looks like Proposition D, thankfully, is going to fail. The main rationale for it seemed to be "nothing else has worked...might as well try this," which is a stupidly low bar to clear. Thankfully people saw past the bullshit candy that was being purveyed by the special interest behind the proposition.

OH: "That's fucked up, how you always..." No, what's fucked up is drama over the phone...in public...restroom...while taking a shit.
I didn't appreciate the occasional traffic disruptions but did enjoy seeing SF street scenes on the tube. And, presumably, the high amount of on-location footage created a not inconsequential number of local film crew jobs. A pity that it was such a shitty, shitty show.

Wow, that's pretty damning, that the promos were unwatchable.

It was getting stronger...little by little (very little). But not anywhere near good enough that I would watch it if it were set in, say, LA.

Sometimes the most ad hoc birthdays are the best. Thank you, friends.
I always wondered how in the world they could still be in business. Not surprised they're closing the store, but dumbfounded to learn that it was just one store in a small chain. That would make them the largest world music/al instruments concern I have ever heard of, even without their Mission District store.

It's like a Battle Royale tourney in the Metreon Food Court, with Buckhorn and that mediocre Mexican place being the last ones standing.
Mini Cooper is now selling their own branded bikes. I guess, since Benz did, BMW has to as well, but...if they're using their Mini brand, shouldn't they be folders? Or BMXes? Or, at least, have 650b tires?

Every car should come with a bicycle and instructions that say to only use the car when absolutely necessary.

Now, whenever I think of Google Chrome, I think of Lay's potato chips. And vice-versa. That's bad, inadvertent co-marketing.
Gross!: "GETTING serious about a sport can mean doing the previously unthinkable. Swimmers shave their bodies sleek. Cyclists take blood-boosters. And ultramarathoners have their battered toenails surgically removed — for good."

Somehow, our having Windows 7 on sale is motivating me to upgrade...as if reg/sale prices are different for me...
Someone in a DPReview forum reports a conversation with a Ricoh rep, in which the rep said that it will be an APS-C sensor in a compact body...like maybe between the Panasonic/Oly Micro Four Thirds bodies or even as small as Ricoh's GR or GX series. Eagerly anticipating more details...

New "folding" helmet from Dahon. Not sure if it looks weird-cool or just weird. Looks like it would be the perfect helmet for playing Rollerball in the year 2100. The folding (sides pivot up) doesn't make it *dramatically* packable, but maybe allows it to more closely hug the outside contour of a bag...or more easily allow for the dead space "inside" to be occupied by other objects inside a bag.
