ok, lets just say I have this "friend" trying to play WOW on Vista. He is getting streaks/lines/artifacts in play, how does one fix that?

Just guessing....might try going into advanced display prefs and turning hardware acceleration down a tick.

There is a simple fix, he needs to upgrade to xp.

if you right click on the program icon, there are usually some emulation modes, like "run in win 98" style. that was helpful for me when running games on Vista (though i'm back to XP now...)

Running vista with 8800gtx and no probs, everything maxed out. Some slowdowns if im watching a dvd and surfing at same time but no video problems
