Dhoni lost his courage to make right decisions. Sending in poor Ravindra Jadeja before Yuvraj was a defensive decision by both Dhoni and Kirsten. Leaders/seniors should go first, not rookies, when survival is at stake.
Hmm...the day I was in melbourne (feb 19), a local newspaper ran as the headline story, advise given by melbourne police to indian students - "avoid speaking loudly in native language and flaunting electronic goods". Isn't this a shocking example of victims being told that they are the problem and not the criminals who attack them!
How nice has South Africa been to host and embrace the IPL at such a short notice with so much enthu! Whoever managed the logistics is also a super manager!
The more we know, the more we realize how little we know. But the cool thing is that the realization of how little we know is not a dampener; it's rather a continuous motivator to go out, explore and find how much more we can do!
I'm happy for Manmohan though. He deserves a second term. A less fractured verdict is good for India. Is YSR getting elected again as AP CM? Yuck! Even Bush got a second term before the people that didn't truly elect him realized the perils of being cowed down by a goon. Am also unhappy that BJP didn't get routed in bgl & kar after they bared...
Was listening to a rather average rendering of Shyama Sastri's kanakashaila vihaarinee on the drive to work. Having heard it before from MS, my ear just y'ear'ned :-) for her vivacious rendering of the same.
Who else would know little pleasures better than moms? Apparently one mom wrote down every single question her kids asked her :-) When you are bearing a lot of load, little pleasures probably stand out more than otherwise. Wishing all moms a very happy mothers day!
Prasad cha! Everyone from every bakwaas city feels he/she can take a dig at bangalore talking about traffic jams. The reality I experience everyday shows that bangalore traffic jams have eased out compared to a few years ago; in fact, try getting around anywhere in chennai, hyderabad or NCR on a weekday evening and tell me if you got anywhere in...
Harsha Bhogle's latest sound byte: "Why do people run away from happy moments?" :-) He was referring to players who celebrate by running away from the center of action.
Did you see how respectfully Mandira speaks to players? And how she focuses mostly on cricket talk and not try to be a simple giggling and flirting model! I still recall how Charu used to contemptuously and jealously cut off Mandira whenever she made a more sensible cricketing point than him :-).
Where the hell was John Buchanan? Don't tell me he was in the "control tower" watching feeds from cameras. That's what happens when a coach puts his ego ahead of the task at hand.
Seeing voters line up everywhere felt good. Universal right to vote is a fantastic leveler - it gives everyone the positive idea that their opinion counts and counts as much as anyone else's - no discrimination based on who you are or what you do!
Harsha Bhogle is a fantastic observer! His narration of how the chennai fans interviewed by sivarama krishnan just gave the same answer (Yeaaaaaaaaah) to every q was cute! Do you think chennai will win? Yeaaaaaaaaah. Do you think it will rain today? Yeaaaaaaaah :-).
Airtel advertisements are very well done. Madhavan and Vidya's latest ad is lovely (literally!) :-) The ad with the tag line - "Impatience is the new way of life" - is well done too!
