Great to see people pushing the envelope on Solar Power: "Instead of roof-sized panels, small collectors could be used on the roof, with the real machinery of solar power generation tucked away, for example, between a home's walls."

I can see a consultancy business in all this inspiring way of living... which may be missing the point: "What have I learned? That friendship, not money, is real security. That most western poverty is of the spiritual kind. That independence is really interdependence. And that if you don't own a plasma screen TV, people think you're an extremist."

This range would keep me going for over a week of local commuting. If I was travelling more and needed to recharge more than once a day I'd find myself a job nearer to home!

It feels really good to be contributing to making the world a better place. Unless you are doing some heavy number crunching then you have plenty of computing cycles to spare. I give away up to 60% on my 2.8 GHz Core 2 Duo powered Aluminium iMac and it takes no more than 30 Watts of electricity; and has little impact on the work I do. If any delay is incurred then I just go have a nice cup of tea. "Donate the power of your computer when it is turned on, but is idle, to projects that benefit humanity! We provide the secure software and system that does it all for free, and you become part of a community that is helping to change the world. Once you install the software, you will be participating in World Community Grid."

Shocking true analysis of the drugs industry... the clue is in the name. Drugs are their product... health is not really their focus; though I am sure that at the heart of it there are doctors that take their oath seriously, but many have become soulless organisations.

Green Lighthouse: First CO2-neutral public building in Denmark - COP15 United Nations Climate Change Conference Copenhagen 2009 - http://en.cop15.dk/blogs...
Excellent that a building is delivering on being carbon-neutral. "We should save energy, but it does not have to be at the expense of good architecture and indoor climate - what we need are buildings in balance" Now that it has show to be doable... aim for the carbon-negative... life. :)

UK Youth Climate Coalition | UK Youth United for a Clean Energy Future - http://ukycc.org
Great to see people mobilising for a better future. This is the kind of thing that the policy-makers of yesterday needed to have done to have real power and influence now. I am confident they can overcome the shit they are likely to inherit.
