How much $$ do they spend on these America's Cup boats? BMW/Oracle just broke their mast valued at approximately $10 Million (for JUST the mast). When does the insanity/ego trip end? Can you imagine what the rest of the world could do with that kind of $? - Chris Myles

Although I do love what Bertarelli has done for the cup and sailing. It used to be so closed off and Alinghi changed all that. I remember the Alinghi Camp during the NZ Americas cup, they had an open club house with interactive games to get the spectator involved.
