"In addition to the test on Dan Kaminsky's blog at, http://www.doxpara.com/ The following test is also worth running, esp since you get some nice scatter graphs in the results where you may be able to pick up patterns (that would be BAD), http://entropy.dns-oarc.net/te... "Er, no. See this from Vodafone themselves, http://vodafonenz.custhelp.com.... ... "No, iPhone will not be available on Prepay. You need to have subscribed to either an iPhone plan or alternatively a standard On account plan (You Choose, talkZone, or Corporate) with a compatible Broadband plan for mobiles."" - Chris Noble
"Yep, sucks to be buying in NZ. Plans are this (NZ$): 8GB/16GB models: $199/$349 then $250/mth = 1GB data, 600min, 600txt $449/$599 then $130/mth = 500MB data, 600min, 250txt $549/$699 then $80/mth = 250MB data, 600min, 120txt Yes, that's right, the $199 8GB phone costs $250/mth = $6,199 total for 2yr contract! Quite possibly the most expensive iPhone and worst data plans on the planet. And no, you can't go prepay here, you have to be on a contract. Also, Vodafone say there will be no visual voicemail when it ships in NZ. You can however buy the phone only (god knows why) for $979/$1129 for 8GB/16GB models! FU Vodafone. I'll be sticking to my Nokia." - Chris Noble
"You guys need to fight the looming caps as long and hard as you can. Here in NZ we have some seriously shitty caps and outrageous fees. I currently pay $70 for 30GB on a "max/128" plan which in reality is about 3.5mbps down and 128k up - and that's one of the better plans around. I've watched our unlimited data plans get chopped to decent sized caps to either smaller caps or more expensive data progressively over the last 3-4 years. Overage on most ISP's here is around $2/GB. Previously, unused data expired each month, but some ISP's are now carrying data over to the next month (as they bloody well should!) and a couple are offering free "off peak" data (between 1am - 7am). A taste of things to come if your ISP's head down the same rocky road as here..." - Chris Noble
"What time zone is the 24hr download period in? Tuesday somewhere in the U.S. I guess? Meh. I'm in NZ and will download it on both tue local and tue U.S. just to be sure! :)" - Chris Noble
